Cage Stress Rage

We need to cage stress rage.

Stress rage is becoming more common according to a USA Today article entitled “Desk rage’ is becoming more common” by Jerry Langdon, Gannett News Service.

The article says:  Workplace stress and long hours are creating a growing phenomenon of ”desk rage” in America, with increased numbers of employees having arguments and breaking down under pressure, according to a study of workers by Integra Realty Resources, a real estate advisory and appraisal firm with offices in 43 U.S. cities.

It added that increased stress is driving workers to tears, insomnia and illness, with unrealistic goals and rudeness from clients and colleagues a major contributor.

Among the highlights of the random telephone survey of 1,305 working adults in the United States:

One of 10 Americans say they work in an atmosphere where physical violence has occurred because of stress, with 42% of that total saying their workplace is a place where yelling and verbal abuse takes place.

Nearly a quarter (23%) have been driven to tears because of workplace stress.

And 14% said they work where machinery or equipment has been damaged through workplace rage.

Real estate issues may play a key role in a stressful workplace.

”One of eight American workers say that overcrowded physical conditions have contributed to their workplace stress,” Hutchison said, and a similar number express concerns about safety.

Other causes of stress? One-third of American workers say unreasonable deadlines added to their stress (30%), with 33% blaming an excessive personal workload.

Half the workers surveyed say they commonly skip lunch to complete their workload.

The rudeness of co-workers or clients is cited by 34% as a major source of stress, and 7% say too much caffeine has contributed to their stress.

Large numbers say they are a physical wreck, with 62% complaining of workplace-related back or neck pain; 44% saying they have stressed-out eyes; and 38% complaining of hurting hands.

Those who adapt and retain clear thinking and relaxed are those who have the greatest chance of happiness and success.

This is why we have expanded our focus on Super Thinking strategies that create a state of “Relaxed Concentration”.   This is an optimal state of mind and body for dealing with an overstressed world.

See our Super Thinking schedule here

Another way to beat stress is with essential oils.

An article at altmedicine.about.com entitled “Benefits and Uses of Rose Oil” Kathy Wong wrote:  Although research on rose oil’s health effects is limited, studies suggest that the essential oil may be useful for the following:

Stress and Anxiety Relief

In a 2009 study of 40 healthy volunteers, scientists found that those who took in rose oil through their skin felt more relaxed than those who were treated with a placebo. Study members who received rose oil also had a greater decrease in breathing rate and blood pressure than those who received the placebo.

In an earlier study, published in 2004, inhalation of rose oil was found to lower anxiety in a group of rats.

This is just wonderful…use the wondrous beauty of rose oil and eliminate the stress!!!

Rosy Longevity Tip

Here is a really rosy longevity tip that can help eliminate a dangerous health risk and enhance longevity… using roses… and a bit more.

sacred valley

Merri and I lived and worked with numerous Andean healers and ayurvedic physicians for many years.  This photo was taken as Merri and I hiked into a sacred valley for purification in a grotto where healing waters flow golden from the hidden rock face.

We have taken hundreds there for cleansing ceremonies in…

ecuador purification

these waters and this is the healing tool kit the shaman brings.  The kit consists of flowers and…

ecuador-shamanic-healing

a blend of essential floral oils called “Agua Flores”.  The healers know the healing power of essential oils.

One of the most important lessons gained from these healers is that the first rule of good purification is “avoid getting impurities in your body in the first place“!

Merri and I take care in what we eat, drink and especially breathe and put on our skin.  The fastest way for any element good or bad to get into the blood stream is via the lungs and the skin.

This is why I smile at our seminars… when delegates ask about my great cologne… telling me how much they like it, even though…  I have not used cologne for something like 40 years.

The delegates are picking up the aroma of essential oils I use every day.  I use these oils for two important purification reasons.

First, essential oils help balance the system and eliminate impurities.

Second, essential oils eliminate daily applications of numerous toxins that most Westerners  are bombarded with.

Since it is difficult for most of us to avoid numerous daily poisons, this message looks at a longevity alternative and begins by showing  how and why, FDA regulations can actually make it harder for us to understand what should go on our skin and what should not.

This problem of trust in the government is growing in more sectors than just American health care, but the reality has expanded that health protection provided by the government is not always in the public’s best interest…. but protects big business instead.

Good health care is only available to an increasingly smaller portion of top earners and often really dangerous practices are condoned by health authorities or at the least ignored.

To overcome this problem Merri and I take many steps to improve how we feel each day and hopefully enhance our activity and longevity.

One regular practice on our part is to use essential oils instead of deodorants.

There is a disturbing article about the FDA and deodorants at impact.com entitled “Deodorants, Antiperspirants and Your Health.”   This article says:  The goal of this article is to provide an overview of the health risks that come with the regular use of most deodorants and all antiperspirants.

If you use deodorants or antiperspirants I recommend you read the entire article (linked below).  Here are few key points from it:  Sweat has no odor, the familiar unpleasant odor is caused by bacteria that live on our skin and hair. These bacteria metabolize the proteins and fatty acids from our apocrine sweat, causing body odor.

Deodorants deal with the smell by neutralizing it and by killing the bacteria that metabolize the proteins and fatty acids.

Antiperspirants on the other hand, try to prevent sweating by blocking the pores using aluminum. Without sweat, the bacteria cannot metabolize proteins and fatty acids that cause body odor.

Antiperspirants – The Over-The-Counter Drug

It might be a surprise to learn that the antiperspirant you use daily is in fact an over-the-counter (OTC) drug.  As mentioned, Antiperspirants work by clogging, closing, or blocking the pores with aluminum salts in order to prevent the release of sweat, effectively changing the function of the body. Antiperspirants are considered to be drugs because they affect the physiology of the body.
Because antiperspirants are drugs, they are regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).  Consequently, every antiperspirant sold in the US has a Drug Identification Number (DIN), which you can find on the label.  A document called ‘monograph’ states requirements for categories of nonprescription drugs such as antiperspirants.  It defines for example what ingredients may be used and for what intended use.  If the standards of the OTC monograph are met, premarket approval of a potentially new OTC product is not necessary.

Antiperspirants contain many ingredients. However, part II and III of this series will focus on the active ingredient for antiperspirants: Aluminum. Most antiperspirants also contain paraben, an ingredient that is also used in deodorants.

Deodorants

As mentioned, deodorants deal with body odor by neutralizing the smell and by killing the bacteria that metabolize the proteins and fatty acids that occur in sweat.

In the last decade one particular ingredient in deodorants has become controversial: Paraben, a widely used preservative. Part IV will focus on paraben and its health effects.

Deodorants and Antiperspirants are Considered to be Safe

Both antiperspirants and deodorants are considered to be safe by the FDA, the American Cancer Society, the National Cancer Institute and the Mayo Clinic.

However, as you will learn in this series, FDA regulation does not mean that a drug is without danger. Like prescription drugs, the FDA oversees OTC drugs to ensure that they are properly labeled and that their benefits outweigh their risks.

There are many products or ingredients of products that have become controversial in regards to health effects. However, this does not mean that products will be taken off the market until deemed safe. Often, the FDA does not consider the evidence of danger to consumer’s health strong enough to take action.

The FDA will be the main subject of a future article, but if you want to research some of the bad decisions the FDA has made in the past, then Google some examples of product that only got pulled off the shelves when it became too obvious that people were dying due to heart attacks caused by these medications: ‘Vioxx’, ‘Celebrex’ and ‘Bextra’. The conclusion of this debacle according to leading cardiologist Dr. Eric Topol:

Neither of the two major forces in this 5-and-a-half-year affair — neither Merck nor the FDA — fulfilled its responsibilities to the public.

This is also why I have not used deodorants or cologne for decades and use essential oils instead!

Here is another reason.

essential-oil-image

This chart show shows how many secret chemicals are in various perfumes and colognes. This come from a safecosmetics.org article linked below. This articles tells about secret ingredients in colognes and perfumes that you may not want touching your skin.

Another health warning comes from Mercola.com.  Here is an excerpt from that site:
99% of Breast Cancer Tissue Contained This Everyday Chemical (NOT Aluminum)

Recent research found higher concentrations of parabens in the upper quadrants of the breast and axillary area, where antiperspirants are usually applied, suggesting they may contribute to the development of breast cancer. One or more paraben esters were detected in 99 percent of the tissue samples collected from mastectomies. In 60 percent of the samples, all five paraben esters were present.

Overall, topical application of personal care products containing parabens appear to be the greatest source of exposure to these estrogen-mimicking chemicals, far surpassing the risk of the aluminum in antiperspirants.

Aluminum chloride—the active ingredient in antiperspirants—has been found to act similarly to the way oncogenes work to provide molecular transformations in cancer cells. Like parabens, aluminum salts also mimic estrogen, and bioaccumulate in breast tissue, which can raise your breast cancer risk.

Despite the fact that parabens are used in such a wide variety of products, their safety is primarily based on a rat study from 1956, as modern toxicology studies are lacking, and not a single study on the chemicals’ carcinogenity follow acceptable regulatory standard carcinogenity study protocols, according to a recent review.

New research examining parabens found in cancerous human breast tissue points the finger at antiperspirants and other cosmetics for increasing your risk of breast cancer.

The research, which is also reviewed in an editorial published in the Journal of Applied Toxicology, looked at where breast tumors were appearing, and determined that higher concentrations of parabens were found in the upper quadrants of the breast and axillary area, where antiperspirants are usually appliedii.

Parabens are chemicals that serve as preservatives in antiperspirants and many cosmetics, as well as sun lotions. Previous studies have shown that all parabens have estrogenic activity in human breast cancer cells.

Another component of antiperspirants, aluminum chloride, has been found to act similarly to the way oncogenes work to provide molecular transformations in cancer cells. According to the authors of the editorial review, the research shows “signals of concern that such compounds are not as safe as previously generally considered, and further research is warranted.” Furthermore:

“The data from this latest study, the most extensive examination of parabens in human breast so far published, confirms previous work and raises a number of questions on the entire parabens, personal care product and human health debate, particularly relating to the source and toxicological significance of the paraben esters.”

essential-oil-image

Photo from Mercola.com article.

One reason I use essential oils almost every day is to avoid parabens.

I have been mixing up my own pure essential oil formula of Frankincense, Sandalwood, Geranium, Patchouli, and Rose Otto as a face cream after shaving.  I mix a drop with Lily of the Desert 99% organic Aloe Vera Gel which has no parabens.

I use… you’ll see why below… the same formula under my arms.

Now a new premixed formula of the same oils is available and I am using this. So can you.

Here is why you may want to.

Many Deodorants Contain Endocrine Disruptors

Another website lymphomainfo.net  has an article entitled “Just Say “No” to Endocrine Disruptors” Here is an excerpt:   The list is extensive and growing – bisphenol A, phthalates, parabens, PBDE’s (flame retardants), PCB’s, dioxins, atrazine, heptachlor, arsenic, mercury, lead among them. Referred to as “endocrine disruptors“(ED’s), a term describing their documented ability to mimic natural hormones and disrupt normal endocrine system functioning, this term certainly understates the myriad of ways in which these synthetic chemicals compromise our health.

Many of these compounds are lipophilic (stored in fat cells). Because women naturally have more fat cells than men, our bodies store more of these cancer-promoting chemicals than do men’s bodies. These chemicals can then be transferred across the placenta to a growing fetus.

This article (linked below) provides a list of individual steps you can take to reduce your and your family’s exposure to and bodily absorption of ED’s.

One of the steps is: Avoid products with added “fragrance” both in your home and on your body. A truly clean (and safe) home is a home without artificial scents. As a non-ED alternative to scented deodorants, try using a deodorant salt (the only safe deodorant during chemotherapy), complemented with a dab of your favorite essential oil just under your arms.

Lymph nodes are the most important part of the immune system and though they are spread throughout the body, there is concentration. Mostly they are concentrated in the neck, under the arms, and in the groins.

So I do not put chemicals  (Deodorants or Antiperspirants) under my arms in this important and sensitive lymph area… ever.

“These parts of the body are so important to health that my friend Jay Glaser M.D. even suggests avoiding regular soap for cleaning these areas. In his book “Body Renewal – The Lost Art of Self Repair” Jay writes: Use gentle glycerin soap only in the groin and underarms. Otherwise use mung bean flour, barley flour or chickpea flour instead of soap, available in Indian groceries (mung bean flour is usually best, but you can try them all). Keep your flour in a dry container near the shower, moisten it in your fingertips and gently apply it to the areas to be cleansed.”

Jay, by the way is one of the best healers I know… an MD and ayurvedic physician who spent years learning ayurved in India.  When Merri and I first began improving our health through Panchakarma.

Jay was the medical director along with John Douillard and Deepak Chopra at the health center.  Over the next seven years we developed a friendship and when we were invited to hike into the Llangantis deep in the Ecuador’s Oriente to learn more about the shamanic life…  Jay and his wife Danielle were the first we asked to join us.  Sanskrit is the root of Quichua the language of the Andes and Jay’s knowledge of Sanskrit and ayurvedic healing were invaluable in helping us see connections between Indian and Andean healing.

Jay’s book “Body Renewal, the Lost Art of Self Repair” is a must read.  You can order it on Amazon.com.

Here Merri and I with Jay overlooking the LLanganatis.

gary-scott-llanganatis

Hence everyone wanting to know about my (non existent) cologne.

Jay’s advice makes sense.  A medicalnewstoday.com article recently showed how there may even be a link between deodorants and breast cancer. The article begins:  A new study led by the University of Reading in the UK that examined breast tissue samples from 40 women who underwent mastectomies for breast cancer,  found they contained widespread traces of parabens, preservatives commonly used in deodorants, make-up, body lotions, moisturisers and many other cosmetic products. Although the study does not prove that parabens cause or even contribute to the development of breast cancer, it raises questions about their use.

Parabens are just one of the chemicals of concern in deodorants.  According to the Dr. Milker website’s list of toxins, the following can be found in Antiperspirants and deodorants:

* Aluminum: Central nervous system damage and linked to Alzheimers. Found in antiperspirant deodorants.

* Coumarin: Formerly the active ingredient in rat poison. A carcinogenic ingredient used in the manufacturing of deodorants.

* Formaldehyde: Suspected carcinogen and neurotoxin, it may be fatal if swallowed, absorbed through skin, inhaled or swallowed.

* Fragrances (Synthetic): Some perfumes / fragrances contain hundreds of chemicals. Some, such as methylene chloride are carcinogenic. Some cause brain damage or are neurotoxins. Avoid unless you can be sure they are not carcinogenic.

* Phthalates: Proven damage to liver, lungs, kidneys and reproductive system, especially forming testes.

* Propylene Glycol: Kidney damage, liver abnormalities, inhibits skin cell growth, damages cell membranes causing rashes, surface damage and dry skin.

* Propylparaben: Potential breast cancer risk and endocrine disruptor raising concern for impaired fertility or development, and increased risk for certain cancers, itching burning and blistering of skin, gastrointestinal or liver toxicity hazard.

This is why I use essential oils under my arms to eliminate poison instead of adding toxins.

For many years, with the advice of our friend Candace Newman, I have blended my own deodorant… getting the essential oils and organic jojoba oil from Candace and mixing them.

I am especially excited because Candace has now created her own secret blend of these oils that make a perfect replacement for deodorants and antiperspirants.  The blend is called Rejuvination Face Oil and contains Frankincense, Sandalwood, Patchouli, Geranium and Rose Otto in an organic jojoba base.

I am using this now (instead of blending myself) and like it so much I decided to make it available to all my readers at a really special price… lower than I believe you can get a similar product anywhere.

This essential oil acts deodorant and more and helps improve rather than decrease natural health.

Let me begin by saying that essential oils have not been evaluated by the FDA as cures for any specific illness.  This product is not intended to diagnose, cure or prevent disease. Having said this I share a lot of data above that strongly implies that deodorants and antiperspirants may be dangerous.  Below is data that suggests that there are many natural health benefits in essential oils.

It makes sense to assume that putting essential oils under your arms is better for you then chemical laden deodorants and antiperspirants.

candace newman

Candace Newman with Merri and me studying herbs at an Ecuador market.

Candace learned about essential oils during the 1980s when failing health forced her to leave a lucrative position as Executive V.P. of a real estate company in Naples, Florida. Years of physical discomfort followed, caused by a cyst that eventually ruptured internally, nerve pain from spinal misalignment and incapacitating head and shoulder aches. The unbearable pain and stress caused sleepless nights and sapped her energy. After 15 doctors, numerous health retreats and two operations, Candace began the search for a way to get her life and spirit back.

When a therapist from England used essential oils on her, a light bulb went on that forever changed her life. The aromas gave instant relief and comfort to the emotional stress, anxiety and exhaustion, while the oils soothed the physical aches and pains. However, with her lifetime sensitivity to commercial perfumes and fragrances, Candace was curious as to why these aromas not only didn’t bother her, but also brought needed relief. This led to her worldwide studies with wonderful teachers from England, France, Germany, Canada and Purdue University.

Since 1993 Candace has been giving Aromatherapy massage treatments, developing formulas, writing, teaching and lecturing. During this time she has spoken at hundreds of events and on radio and TV, at conventions, retreats, lectures and classes for the general public. As a volunteer at Hospice, she taught more than 200 nurses, staff, caregivers and volunteers.

This new blend is Candace’s Rejuvenation Face Oil made from rare essential oils and 100% Organic Golden Jojoba.

organic-rose-oil

This  oil is really exquisite and has become Candace’s signature formula and top seller by far even though she just launched it several weeks ago.

It’s great for the skin, and people report the aroma is a great anxiety reliever. When the formula is used at night, it also promotes sweet sleep.

This oil also has excellent antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. The formula includes Frankincense, Sandalwood, Patchouli, Geranium and Rose Otto… so the aroma is perfect as my deodorant but also provides many other benefits including:

* Increased circulation, especially to nerve endings
* Toning of the muscles and the whole physiology
* Calming of the nerves
* Lubrication of the joints
* Increased mental alertness
* Improved elimination of impurities from the body
* Softer, smoother skin
* Increased levels of stamina through the day
* Better, deeper sleep at night

The University of Minnesota website www.takingcharge.edu explores healing practices with essential oils.

Here are a couple of excerpts from the site (bolds are mine and a link to the entire site is at the end of this message):

How do I use essential oils?

Essential oils enter the body primarily in three ways—applied to the skin, inhaled, or ingested. Within each of these, there are many different kinds of application methods. For example, you can apply essential oils topically using compresses, sprays, baths, or massaging them into the skin.

Factors That Increase Skin Absorption

Different factors can affect the absorption of essential oils through the skin. If you massage the area first, it will increase circulation to that area, thereby causing an increase in absorption of essential oils. Heat will likewise increase circulation and thus enhance absorption.

Some researchers report that essential oils may be more readily absorbed from skin locations with greater concentrations of sweat glands and hair follicles, such as the genitals, head, soles, palms, and armpits (Battaglia, 2003).

Interaction with the Limbic System (Emotional Brain)

During inhalation, odor molecules travel through the nose and affect the brain through a variety of receptor sites, one of which is the limbic system, which is commonly referred to as the “emotional brain.”

The limbic system is directly connected to those parts of the brain that control heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, memory, stress levels, and hormone balance (Higley & Higley, 1998). This relationship helps explain why smells often trigger emotions. Knowing this, we can hypothesize how inhalation of essential oils can have some very profound physiological and psychological effects!

“Smell is a potent wizard that transports us across thousands of miles and all the years we have lived.” Helen Keller

Are Essential Oils Safe?

Most essential oils are safe and free of adverse side effects when used properly. However, as with any substance you are introducing into your body, it is important to use them intelligently. We recommend that you never eat or drink essential oils.
Can essential oils be toxic?

Toxicity rarely occurs with appropriate use of essential oils and is primarily attributed to misuse and accidental ingestion, especially in young children. Essential Oil Safety by Tisserand and Balacs, 1995, is a valuable reference to understanding potential toxicity and lethal dosages. Again, we recommend that you never eat or drink essential oils.

The Nature of Plants and Tiny Molecules

Essential oil chemistry is made up of very tiny molecules.  These molecules are much smaller than the molecules found in fatty oils.

The tiny size is the key that unlocks good health because they easily penetrate cell walls, even the blood-brain barrier.   This allows the essential oil molecules to reach parts of the body like nothing else in a really fast and positive way.

These tiny molecules work through the skin and reach most parts of the body almost instantly.

This allows essential oils to permeate your body with the plant’s healing energy.

Plant’s Healing Energy

Plants have an intelligence that allows them to grow and survive.  Essential oils are a concentration of this knowledge.

Plants have to beat back mold and fungi and overcome bacteria and viruses. That concentrated ability is carried into our bodies through essential oils.

Essential oils enhance the power of human immune systems just as they do for plants and make essential oils effective health promoters.

Essential oils help defeat molds, fungi, viruses and bacteria as they support the endocrine, circulatory, digestive, nervous, and reproductive systems.

Essential Antioxidants

Essential oils are also among the world’s most powerful antioxidants.

Remember essential oils are a concentrated form of a plant’s intelligence.  If eating a plant (such as a rose) creates great anti oxidant activity… then using the essential oil concentrates this healthy action.

In other words essentials oils are super scrubbers of free radicals. This is important because anti oxidation is known to slow the aging process and reduce the risks of cancer.

ORAC Value

ecuador-roses

When a rose is more than a rose… a powerful anti oxidant scrubber.

ORAC stands for “Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity”.   This is a scientific measurement that measures the antioxidant capacity of a food item and or oil.  USDA researchers at Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts, developed this laboratory test to measure the oxygen radical absorption capacity of different foods and natural substances.  This is known as the ORAC scale and is one of the most sensitive and reliable methods for measuring antioxidant capacity.

This scale helped the health care community learn about valuable antioxidant foods like Pomegranates that have an ORAC value 3,037 and Blueberries  with an ORAC of 2,400.

Fewer know about the anti oxidant ORAC scale of essential oils.

Rose essential oil for example has an ORAC value of 160,400!

This is more than 50 times the ORAC value of  pomegranates!

Other oils in Candace’s blend also have very high ORAC values such as :

Geranium     ORAC Value 101,000

Patchouli      ORAC Value  49,400

Here are the concentrated properties of each essential oil in Candace’s rejuvenation Rose Oil Blend.

Rose Otto essential oil:  Rose Otto is an anti-infectious, natural anti-inflammatory, relaxant, antihemmorrhaging, antiulcer, scar reducing, and has aphrodisiac qualities.  Rose Otto is used for anxiety, hypertension, viral infections (herpes simples), bronchitis, skin conditions (eczema, scaring, wrinkles, restores moisture balance, all skin types, dry or inflamed skin), menstrual problems, digestive problems, liver congestion, and headaches.

Rose Otto also has the highest frequency (320 Hertz) of all the essential oils.   This means that rose oil penetrates and energizes every cell in the body.

Frankincense essential oil:  Frankincense is antiseptic, a disinfectant, astringent, carminative, cicatrisant, cytophylactic, digestive, diuretic, emenagogue, expectorant, sedative, tonic, uterine and vulnerary.

Sandalwood essential oil:  Sandalwood has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties and helps regulate the digestive tract, fight urinary infections and eases inflammation in the nervous and circulatory systems.

Patchouli essential oil: Patchouli is an anti depressant, antiseptic, aphrodisiac, deodorant, diuretic, fungicide, sedative and tonic.

Geranium essential oil: Geranium is anti bacterial and anti microbial and does not let bacteria or microbes develop. It facilitates blood circulation just below the surface of skin and also helps make distribution of melanin uniform plus promotes cell health and also encourages recycling of dead cell and regeneration of new cells. This helps in the growth of the body cells as well as gametes.

Geranium has an uplifting aroma and helps the body’s systems and functions work properly by influencing endocrinal glands for regulating secretion of various hormones, enzymes, acids and bile etc. and toning up the respiratory system, digestive system, circulatory system, nervous system and excretory system.

That’s quite a blend!  Your body will like it.  Others will like it on you as well.   Everyone comments on the aroma and it makes my clothes smell great!

An 1 ounce bottle of this retails for $45 which is a great price with the 100% organic jojoba base.

This may seem expensive compared to $8 or $9 for a 1.7-Ounce Stick of Men’s Gillette Clinical All Day Fresh Anti-Perspirant/Deodorant or $28 for 3 ounces of  women’s DERMAdoctor Total NonScents Brightening Antiperspirant.

The higher price of natural products versus chemical is understandable.  An ounce of good quality Rose Otto essential oil requires 60,000 roses and costs around $400.

On the other hand the health benefits of this blend make it a bargain.  According to answers.yahoo, the treatment cost for stage 3 non-hodgkin’s lymphoma can easily exceed $300,000 so cutting off  potential health problems at the pass makes sense.

You Actually Can Save.

Since you can also throw away expensive colognes, perfumes and face cremes as well as deodorants you save money as you gain a chance for better health.

Only one or two drops are required so a bottle of Candace Newman’s Rejuvenation Face Oil  goes a long ways. One bottle lasts for a couple of months for me.  If you use it for the face as well… obviously it will go faster.

You can order a bottle of  Rejuvenation Face Oil for $45 from Candace here.

Opportunity thru Stress

There will be growing opportunity for those who can beat stress.

Expect more stress in the Western world.

money.cnn-photo

Photo from money.cnn article “How to deal With Desk Rage”.

We can anticipate more stress from a Japanese clue.

The US government handled the the savings and loan crisis of the 1980s by forming Resolution trusts and auctioning off foreclosed properties, often at ten cents on a dollar to private enterprise.  This was a good solution to  bad situation… calling a spade a spade… taking losses and getting the property back into hands of those who would use them as fast as possible.

Japan had a bank crash around the same time and used a totally different approach.   The government saved the banks… interfered with free market forces and caused a deflation and created a stagnant economy that has remained slow to this day 30 years later.

Japan's Economic Growth

Japan’s annual GDP growth from the World Bank.

So when the bank crunch hit the USA in 2008 the US government followed the Japanese model.  Go figure?

There is not much we can do about government action like that.  What we can do is observe… connect dots, adapt and improve our situation in the current reality.

We can learn an important fact from observing Japan…government policy that ignores reality and free market forces…  creates stress.

A reader in Tokyo attended our last Super Thinking + Spanish course and sent this note upon his return to Japan:

Dear Merri and Gary,

I safely got back to Japan and to my office.  Thank you very much for your assistance before the seminar and for the huge amount of knowledge that you shared with the group.

The immediate results that came through to me are:

1) ability to put my so far unconscious approach to learning languages into message understandable for general public.

2) discussion with Merri about the healing properties of music.

Working with languages seems to be a subject, which Japanese companies approach me to assist them with. So far I was hesitant to market any language courses, because I was not sure how to convey my approach to learning languages.

Classical music is a big subject in Japan.

The stress level in Japan is very, very high. There are all kinds of businesses offering stress relaxation. Setting up
a parlor offering remedies to various problems existing within Japanese society could become a very interesting business. Thank you.

We can expect growing stress in the US.

Those who adapt and keep clear thinking and relaxed are those who have the greatest chance of happiness and success.

1) Stress and Anxiety Relief

In a 2009 study of 40 healthy volunteers, scientists found that those who took in rose oil through their skin felt more relaxed than those who were treated with a placebo. Study members who received rose oil also had a greater decrease in breathing rate and blood pressure than those who received the placebo.

In an earlier study, published in 2004, inhalation of rose oil was found to lower anxiety in a group of rats.

Spotting opportunity can hardly ever be assured.  No one has a spotlight into the future.  We can, however, shine illumination on the past to get a better feel of what might lie ahead.  One fact that seems quite reliable is that the future will add more stress on more people. Those who can avoid the stress will be happier, more effective and have greater opportunity in the days ahead.

The kit consists of flowers and…

a blend of essential floral oils called “Agua Flores”.

* Calming of the nerves
* Lubrication of the joints
* Increased mental alertness
* Improved elimination of impurities from the body
* Softer, smoother skin

Sunset on Stress

One way to improve health and increase effectiveness is to reduce stress.

sunset

Sunset in Mt. Dora, Florida

As Merri and I rode though the sunset after our weekend Super Thinking + Spanish course, I was reflecting on how delegates love the relaxation sessions because they reduce stress.

gary-scott-seminar

Relaxation session at our most recent Super Thinking + Spanish course.

One of the main ways the body eliminates stress is with a good night’s sleep.   Deep rest at night fights stress, maintains weight, and keeps energy high.

The most regenerative sleep occurs between 10 p.m. – 2 a.m.  The pineal gland helps the body sleep better if we pay heed to the sunset.  The pineal gland senses the change in light and secretes melatonin which helps our body to sleep.

If regularly deprived of the regenerative sleep between 10 p.m. – 2 a.m., the body has a much harder time reducing stress.

Exposure to bright light at night reduces melatonin and the body stays awake. Normally one to two hours after sunset, the body gets ready to sleep as melatonin levels rise. By midnight, melatonin levels have peaked and there is a gradual decline in melatonin levels after midnight. If you missed the sunset and the early night’s sleep… even after eight hours you can still feel fatigued and stressed.

Our modern electricity filled lifestyle tends to keep most people up past ten.

An October 24. 2012 USA Today article entitled “Burnout up among employees” by  Sharon Jayson, says:  The slow-to-recover economy is taking a new toll on workers across the USA: Not only are they stressed out from job uncertainties and stagnant pay, the stress has lasted so long that now they’re burned out too, a new survey finds.

“A significant portion of the American workforce is burned out, and my concern is, that’s rising,” says Richard Chaifetz, CEO of ComPsych Corp., a Chicago-based provider of employee assistance programs to more than 17,000 organizations worldwide, covering more than 45 million employees.

ComPsych’s national survey of 1,880 workers, completed earlier this month, finds signs of prolonged stress in attitudes about work priorities, says Chaifetz, a clinical neuropsychologist.

Since last year, the most significant growth in work priorities is no longer accomplishing basic responsibilities or improving their performance, but just showing up. “Being present” was the most important priority cited by 22% of workers — a 47% increase since the survey began in 2003 and a jump of 3 percentage points since last year.

Ecuador’s easy going lifestyle and lower costs of living helps reduce stress a lot.

Another way to reduce stress is by listening to Baroque music.

A study comparing meditation to listening to Barqoue music shows that blood pressure drops and the pulse slows down.  Stress melts away!

research

Unlike meditation… which induces rest… listening to the music relaxes but also readies one for action.

In the modern competitive world we need every advantage we can get without stress.   Reducing stress is a competitive advantage.

Get a good night’s sleep… meditate and listen to Baroque music and you’ll be on your way to having less stress, feeling lighter and getting more things accomplished!

The Huge 2020 Risk

Here is a huge risk that could explode in 2020.

I hope I am wrong… but the numbers are clear.

According to Treasurydirect.com, (1) as of December 26, 2020 the total US public debt was 23 trillion and 845 billion dollars.

This is not a theoretical problem for the future.  This is not something that our children and grandchildren will have to deal with.  This is a problem in the here and now for you and me.

Rising interest rates create a massive problem for every American.

treasury direct

Look at how the interest costs alone have risen to over a half trillion dollars a year.

treasury direct

The bad news is that the (US federal debt) is getting bigger….harder to miss.  The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) projected in 2010 (the debt then was a bit over 14 trillion) that, under law at that time, debt held by the public would exceed $16 trillion by 2020, reaching nearly 70 percent of GDP.

The $7 Trillion Error.

They sure goofed on that.  Here we are… only in 2020 and debt has shot past 23 trillion.

How could the CBO be so wrong?

The CBO screwed up because they could never imagine that the Fed would push interest rates so low… and keep them there.  The interest rates are so low that the government has been able to borrow more than imagined and still afford the interest.

For example, US Federal government interest last year amounted to around $573 billion.  Yet in 2008 on debt of only $9 trillion +  the interest that year was $451 billion +.

Interest payments in 2017 were 27% higher than they were in 2008.  Yet the debt is over 250% higher.

Very low interest rates have helped the government borrow.  Low interest has also helped the US stocks reach all time high prices.

The government will resist raising rates because it will ruin their budget, cause a collapse of the stock markets and destroy the US dollar.

Rising interest rates, will create an almost unimaginable debt crisis.  If government interest doubles it is like the $23+ trillion national debt  rising to 46 trillion!  Unless there are some huge tax increase the interest payments are not sustainable.

Learn how to have more freedom and time, less stress, better health care, extra income, greater safety and profit in your savings despite America’s deficits, debt and currency risk.

Fortunately there are secrets that will allow a few to live much better, free of debt and worry despite the decline in the dollar’s purchasing power.   My wife, Merri and I, have traveled, lived, worked and invested around the world for nearly 50 years to gain this information.

Let me share the basics of this data and how we can be of help through 2020.

The first fact behind this secret is that things are really good in the western world.  Despite many problems, we are surrounded by more abundance and greater opportunity than almost anyone has ever enjoyed, anywhere, ever.   To enjoy a fair share of this wealth, all we have to do is understand human nature and learn how to invest in the new economy, as it changes and becomes new, again and again.

Merri and I have made seven huge transitions in the 50 years.  Each has allowed us to always stay ahead of losses that the majority of Americans suffer.  We are in another transition right now and want to share why and what to do so you can stay ahead and live a richer, independent life through 2020 and beyond.

A falling US dollar is one of the greatest risks we have to our independence, safety, health, and wealth, but also brings a window of huge profit as I explain below.   Though the greenback has been strong for a number of years, its strength is in serious jeopardy.  The growing federal deficits increase the national debt and this with rising interest rates propels a growing debt service.

While the Dow Jones Industrial Average passed a record high, the U.S. national debt passed the $20 trillion mark.

The problem is that the Dow will come back down.  National debt will not fall.

The double shock of money fleeing Wall Street and US debt skyrocketing, will destroy the purchasing power of the greenback.

Go to the store even now.  Statistics say inflation is low, but buy some bread or, heaven forbid, some fresh vegetables like peppers or fruit.   Look at the cost of your prescription or hospital bills.  Do something simple like have your car serviced at an auto dealer.  Look at the dollars you spend and you’ll see what I mean.

The loss of the dollar’s purchasing power erodes our independence, our freedom and our savings and wealth as well.

At the same time, low interest rates by big banks and higher health care costs soak up the ever diminishing income and savings we have left.  According to a Gallup poll, the most unpopular three institutions in America are big corporations & Wall Street banks, HMOs and Congress.

Yet there is little we can do because these institutions are in control.

Over the last 50 years the average income for 90 percent of the American population fell.  Our health system is restricted by a Kafka-esque maze of legislation and insurance regulations that delay, frustrate, and thwart attempts by patients and doctors from proper medical care.  Big banks and corporations restrict our freedom of choice.  The business customer relationships are no longer transactions between free equals.

Banks can trap us in indebtedness at every age from student loans to mortgages to health care costs.  They pay almost nothing on our savings.  They hide unexpected fees and payments in complex and unreadable documents.  Banks and big corporations routinely conceal vital information in small print and then cheat.  Weak regulations and lax enforcement leave consumers with few ways to fight back.  Many of these businesses ranging from cable TV to phone and internet service to health insurance have virtual monopolies that along with deceptive marketing destroys any form of free market.

These same companies control the credit-scoring agencies so if  we don’t pay unfair fees, our credit scores will plunge and we could lose the ability to borrow money, rent an apartment, even to get a job.  Many consumers are forced to accept “arbitration clauses” in lieu of  legal rights.  The alternative is to lose banking, power, and communication services.

Big business has also usurped our privacy.  Internet companies sell our personal data.  Personal information is pulled from WiFi and iPhones track and store our movements.  The government can access this information, sometimes without subpoenas.  There’s a lot that we don’t know, often withheld under the guise of “National Security.”

The glow on Western democratic capitalism has dimmed… or so it seems.  The US, leading the way, is still a superpower with economic, innovation and military might, but the institutions that should serve the people have become flawed or broken.

America’s infrastructure is in shambles.  The nation’s bridges are crumbling, many water systems are filled with toxins, yet instead of spending more to fix this, we build more prisons.  The 2.2 million people currently in  jail is a 500 percent increase over the past thirty years.  60% of the inmates belong to ethnic groups.  Not just non-white ethnic groups are suffering.  Annual death rates are falling for every group except for middle-aged white Americans.  Death rates are rising among this group driven by an epidemic of suicides and afflictions stemming from substance abuse, alcoholic liver disease and overdoses of heroin and prescription opioids.

America’s middle class is shrinking.  Nearly  half of America’s income goes to upper-income households now.  In 1970 only 29 percent went to this group.  How can we regain our freedom, our happiness and our well being in such a world?

What can we do?

Gain a better, freer life is to combine better health, higher income and greater savings for a happier, more resilient lifestyle.

Merri and I will celebrate our 50th year of global living, working, investing and researching to find and share ideas on how to have simpler, low stress, healthier, more affluent lifestyles.  Our courses, reports and email messages look at ways to gain:

#1:  Global micro business income.

#2:  Low cost, natural health.

#3:  Safer, more profitable, investments that take little time or cost to buy and hold… so you can focus on earning more instead

Many readers use our services for just one of these three benefits.  They focus only on health or on earning more or on better, easier investing.

28 years ago Merri and I created the International Club as a way for readers to join us and be immersed in all three of these benefits.   The International Club is a year long learning program aimed at helping members earn worry free income, have better affordable good health and gain extra safety and profits with value investments.

Join us for all of 2020 NOW.

The three disciplines, earning, health and investing, work best when coordinated together.  Regretfully the attacks on our freedom are realities of life.  There is little we can do to change this big picture.  However we can change how we care for our health, how we earn and how we save so that we are among the few who live better despite the dollar’s fall.

We start with better lower cost health care.

Club membership begins by sharing ways to be free of the “Secret Hospital Charge Master”.   Just as governments hide truth behind “National Security”, big health care businesses hide medical truths behind “Charge masters”.  Most hospital charge masters are secret because big business does not want us to know how much hospital costs have risen.  Motivations beyond our good health, like corporate greed, want to keep us in the dark about health care cost.

Despite rising health care costs, a report from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention shows that hospitals are the last place we want to be for good health.  One report shows that hospital-acquired infections alone kills 57% more Americans every year than all car accidents and falls put together.

Often, what patients catch in the hospital can be worse than what sent them there.  Governments and health care agencies agree  – antibiotic resistance is a “nightmare.”  An antibiotic-resistant bacteria may be spreading in more hospitals than patients know.  About one in every 25 hospitalized patients gets an infection and a report from the Journal of Patient Safety showed that medical errors are the third-leading cause of death in the country.

Along with the risk of hospital acquired illness and medical errors, the second huge threat to our well being… is health care costs, especially at hospitals.  This is why charge masters are so often secret.  There are few risks to our wealth that are greater than a hospital stay.

I have created three natural health reports are about:

#1: Nutrition

#2: Purification

#3: Exercise

Each report is available for $19.95.  However you’ll receive this free as club member and save $59.85.

Club members also receive seven workshops and courses on how earn everywhere with at home micro businesses.  We call this our “Live Well and Free Anywhere Program”.   The program contains a series of courses and reports that show ways to earn and be free. These courses and reports are:

  • “International Business Made EZ”
  • “Self Fulfilled – How to Write to Sell”
  • Video Workshop by our webmaster David Cross,
  • The entire weekend “Writer’s Camp” in MP3
  • The report “How to Raise Money Abroad”
  • Report and MP3 Workshop “How to Gain Added Success With Relaxed Concentration”
  • The course “Event-Full – How to Earn Conducting Seminars and Tours”

This program is offered at $299, but is available to you as a club member free.  You save $299 more.

Next, club members participate in an intensive program called the Purposeful investing Course (Pi).  The purpose of Pi is finding value investments that increase safety and profit.  Learn Slow, Worry Free, Good Value Investing.

Stress, worry and fear are three of an investor’s worst enemies.  These destroyers of wealth can create a Behavior Gap, that causes investors to underperform in any market good or bad.  The behavior gap is created by natural human responses to fear.  Pi helps create profitable strategies that avoid losses from this gap.

Lessons from Pi are based on the creation and management of a Primary Pi Model Portfolio, called the Pifolio.  There are no secrets about this portfolio except that it ignores the stories from economic news (often created by someone with vested interests) and is based mainly on good math that reveals the truth through financial news.

The Pifolio is a theoretical portfolio of MSCI Country Benchmark Index ETFs that cover all the good value markets using my 50 years of global experience and my study of the analysis of four mathematical investing geniuses (and friends).

There are seven layers of tactics in the Pi strategy.

Pi Tactic #1: Determine purpose and good value.

Pi Tactic #2: Diversify 70% to 80% of portfolio equally in good value developed markets.

Pi Tactic #3: Invest 20% to 30% equally in good value emerging markets.

Pi Tactic  #4:  Use trending algorithms to buy sell or hold these markets.

Pi Tactic  #5:  Add spice speculating with ideal conditions.

Pi Tactic  #6: Add spice speculating with leverage.

Pi Tactic  #7:  Add spice speculating with forex potential.

The Pifolio analysis begins with a continual research of international major stock markets that compares their value based on:

#1:  Current book to price

#2:  Cash flow to price

#3:  Earnings to price

#4:  Average dividend yield

#5:  Return on equity

#6:  Cash flow return

#7:  Market history

We combine the research of several brilliant mathematicians and money managers with my years of investing experience.

This is a complete and continual study of what to do about the movement of international major and emerging stock markets.  I want to share this study throughout the next year with you.

This analysis forms the basis of a Good Value Stock Market Strategy.  The analysis is rational, mathematical and does not worry about short term ups and downs.  This strategy is easy for anyone to follow and use.  Pi reveals the best value markets and provides contacts to managers and analysts and Country Index ETFs so almost anyone can create and follow their own strategy.

The costs are low and this type of ETF is one of the hardest for institutions to cheat.  Expense ratios for most ETFs are lower than those of the average mutual fund.  Little knowledge, time, management or guesswork are required.  The investment is simply a diversified portfolio of good value indices.  Investments in an index are like investments in all the shares of a good value market.

Pi opens insights to numerous long term cycles that most investors miss because they have not been investing long enough to see them.

The Pi subscription is normally $299 per annum but as a club member you receive Pi at no charge and save an additional $2299.

Profit from the US dollar’s fall.

In the 1980s, a remarkable set of two economic circumstances helped anyone who spotted them become remarkably rich.  Some of my readers made enough to retire.  Others picked up 50% currency gains.  Then the cycle ended.  Warren Buffett explained the importance of this ending in a 1999 Fortune magazine interview.  He said:  Let me summarize what I’ve been saying about the stock market: I think it’s very hard to come up with a persuasive case that equities will over the next 17 years perform anything like—anything like—they’ve performed in the past 17!

Club members receive a report about opportunity in the  current strength of the US dollar is a second remarkable similarity to 30 years ago.   The dollar rose along with Wall Street.  Profits came quickly over three years.  Then the dollar dropped like a stone, by 51%  in just two years.  A repeat of this pattern is growing and could create up to 50% extra profit if we start using strong dollars to accumulate good value stock market ETFs in other currencies.

This is the most exciting opportunity I have seen since we started sending our reports on international investing ideas more than three decades ago.  The trends are so clear that I created a short, but powerful report “Three Currency Patterns for 50% Profits or More.”   This report shows how to earn an extra 50% from currency shifts with even small investments.  I kept the report short and simple, but included links to 153 pages of  Good Value Stock Market research and Asset Allocation Analysis.

The report shows 20 good value investments and a really powerful tactic that shows the most effective and least expensive way to accumulate these bargains in large or even very small amounts (less than $5,000).  There is extra profit potential of at least 50% so the report is worth a lot.

This report sells for $29.95 but when you become a club member you receive the report, “Three Currency Patterns For 50% Profits or More” FREE.

Plus get the $39.99 report, “The Platinum Dip 2019” free.

With investors watching global stock markets bounce up and down, many missed two really important profit generating events.  The price of silver dipped below $14 an ounce as did shares of the iShares Silver ETF (SLV).   The second event is that the silver gold ratio hit 80 and has remained near this level, compared to a range of the 230s only two years ago.

Now there is a new distortion ready to ripen in the year ahead.

These two events are a strong sign to invest in precious metals.

I prepared a special report “Platinum Dip 2019”.   The report explains the exact conditions you need to make leveraged precious metal speculations that can increase the returns in a safe portfolio by as much as eight times.  The purpose of the report is to share long term lessons about speculating in precious metals gained through 30 years of speculating and investing in gold and silver.

The low price of silver offers special value now so I want to send you this report because the “Platinum Dip 2018” offers enormous profit potential in 2018.

The report “Platinum Dip 2019” sells for $39.95 but club members receive it free as well.

The $39.95 new “Live Anywhere – Earn Everywhere Report” is also free.

There is an incredible new economy that’s opening for those who know what to do.  There are great new opportunities and many of them offer enormous income potential but also work well in disaster scenarios.

There are are specific places where you can reduce your living expenses and easily increase your income.  Scientific research has shown that being in such places actually make you smarter and healthier.  Top this off with the fact that they provide tax benefits as well and you have to ask, “Where are these places?”.

Learn about these specific places.  More important learn what makes them special.  Discover seven freedom producing steps that you can use to find other similar places of opportunity.

The report includes a tax and career plan broken into four age groups, before you finish school, from age 25 to 50 – age 50-to 65 and what to do when you reach the age where tradition wants you to re-tire.  (Another clue-you do not need to retire and probably should not!)

The report is very specific because it describes what Merri and I, our children and even my sister and thousands of our readers have done and are doing, right now.

Live Anywhere – Earn Everywhere focuses on a system that takes advantage of living in Smalltown USA, but earning locally and globally.

This report is available online for $39.99 but International Club members receive it free.

Retire and Watch

The crazier the world… the more will retire from the old and watch for the new to emerge.

A reader sent this note last week. Gary,  Here’s a quote to add to your library:  “The order of the present is the disorder of the future.” Saint Juste

How true.  The order that Western capitalistic Democratic societies have lived with for the past 75  years are now all suspect.

The cover of last week’s Economist says it all… be afraid.

economist

However this fear belongs only in the unreal world.

Excerpts from the Economist’s cover article outline the global economic problems.   IN DARK days, people naturally seek glimmers of hope. So it was that financial markets, long battered by the ever-worsening euro crisis, rallied early this week amid speculation that Europe’s leaders had been bullied by the rest of the world into at last putting together a “big plan” to save the single currency. Investors ventured out from safe-haven bonds into riskier assets. Stock prices jumped: those of embattled French banks soared by almost 20% in just two days.

But those hopes are likely to fade, for three reasons. First, for all the breathless headlines from the IMF/World Bank meetings in Washington, DC, Europe’s leaders are a long way from a deal on how to save the euro.

A slew of recent indicators suggests the euro area is slipping into recession, as Germany’s exports slow, the fiscal screws tighten, confidence slumps and the banks’ travails imply tighter credit. Even if the euro-zone crisis were to be solved tomorrow, the region’s GDP would probably shrink over the coming months.

America’s economy is still limping along, though the summer slump in share prices and consumer confidence suggest future spending will weaken further. The Federal Reserve is trying new ways of support, somewhat half-heartedly. Whatever it does, America is currently on course for the most stringent fiscal tightening of any big economy in 2012, as temporary tax cuts and unemployment insurance expire at the end of this year.

In the aftermath of the Lehman crisis, policymakers broadly did the right thing. The result was not a rapid return to prosperity in the West, but after such a big balance-sheet recession that was never going to happen. Now, more often than not, policymakers seem to be getting it wrong. Their mistakes vary, but two sorts stand out. One is an overwhelming emphasis on short-term fiscal austerity over growth.

The second failure is one of honesty. Too many rich-world politicians have failed to tell voters the scale of the problem. In Germany, where the jobless rate is lower than in 2008, people tend to think the crisis is about lazy Greeks and Italians. Mrs Merkel needs to explain clearly that it also includes Germany’s own banks—and that Germany faces a choice between a costly solution and a ruinous one. In America the Republicans are guilty of outrageous obstructionism and misleading simplification, while Mr Obama has favoured class warfare over fiscal leadership. At a time of enormous problems, the politicians seem Lilliputian. That’s the real reason to be afraid.

See a link to the entire article below.

In short there is nowhere to invest now that does not have risk.  Stocks, bonds, commodities, gold silver, currencies have all shown themselves to be volatile. Yet  those who can look beyond these social economic agreements we have come to rely on at a deeper reality retire from this unreal world and watch the power of reality.

On the subject of retire and watch.   I am about to have a birthday… my 65th.  Time to retire and take the golden watch?

Not likely in part because of these…

Color and sound are frequency and the sights and sounds of our lives create subtle energies of great overall importance.

Merri and I have learned to pay attention to these colors.  For example we often

gary-merri soctt

dress alike.  Here we are heading to our seminar hall.

gary-merri scott

All dressed up for Saturday shopping.  When people dress alike and are surrounded in the same subtle energy they think alike… feel the same and act in better harmony and are more effective working together and more comfortable living together.

Merri and I have worked with some of the world’s greatest investment managers, economists and business leaders.  Yet we have also lived, studied and worked with quantum physicists, scientists, holistic healers, shamans, vaidyas, Vedic astrologers and ministers because they look at, practice and teach deeper wisdom and reality.

They have taught us that the subtle frequencies of color are one component of good health.  Even the Western medical industry is learning to use color in their healing.  The website healthcarefineart.com says in an article entitled  “Health Care Fine Art: Picking Color for HealthCare Interiors”:  Picking the best color for healthcare interiors isn’t easy anymore. Back in the 1950’s, everyone thought they knew the answer; pistachio green! A sterile scrub color. Now we live in a time when we want these healing environments designed to reflect what emerging science and evidence-based design say reduces stress and facilitates healing.

Regarding color, some scientists say that there is no convincing evidence about how it affects us physically and emotionally while other researchers say that is does – making for a perplexing subject at best. Leading HealthCare Designer Tara Hill offers her opinion:

The bottom line for color in Healthcare is :

  • There IS some sort of healing component in color as with anything that stimulates the senses.
  • Science shows that nature has a huge healing component. Good luck reflecting it without the representation of color.
  • Through stimulating environments – those weighted in representations of nature and color – patients, family, and staff report feel “normalized” and researchers indicate their healing rates are dramatically increased.
  • We have to be careful not to oversell color’s healing potential, but it seems illogical to say color is not part of the interior “system” of elements that, when all brought together appropriately, make for a therapeutic environment.

Another site on the power of workplaces… workplacefl.com says in the article “Influences of color in health care”:  A second major trend is the emergence of new Mind/Body/ Health Connections. Listed by futurists as among the most significant trends of the new millennium, it is strongly validated in lifestyle marketing and consumer industries. These focus areas are lending even more credibility to methods for creating healthy environments, which has always been seen as important in healthcare solutions.

Designers seek to create products and spaces that are more inviting, have uplifting and energetic atmospheres, more universal appeal, versatility, and longevity. Their search to provide a spatial balance to the chaos and stress of everyday life helps to closely align color palettes from home, office, healthcare, and hospitality alike, with “calm and comforting” as its universal appeal.

An emerging field of study, psycho-neuro-immunology (PNI), is both an art and science being embraced by pioneering interior designers to enhance well-being, creativity, and performance. Strongly supported by notable advocates such as Millicent Gappell, FIFDA, the PNI approach combines color, art, interior design, music, and science to produce wellness-enhancing environments. This new scientific method brings more attention to creating wholesome and healthy environments and the holistic approach of healing through appropriate balance of light, color, and space.

One of the common themes we have learned is to be in tune with subtle energy which can make us we smarter… to have better health and to have greater energy.   These are the assets that help us survive and prosper in a faster changing world.

Gary

Here is how we use color to enhance the messages…and color and sound to learn Spanish in four days…

the golden orange helps to spread prosperity and good energy and golden colors/curtains from Dr. Lozanov’s research helps to promote learning/memory/access to both hemispheres of the brain.

Learn Spanish in Three Days ONLINE

Instant $110 discount on the course!

The “Learn Spanish in Three Day Course” is now available online.

Read below to see why we are offering our Super Spanish course online for the first time.

Speaking Spanish is a huge benefit on its own.  You can become one of the rare North Americans who can get along in Spanish speaking countries.  You can be one of the special people who can communicate with 10 million non-English speakers in the USA.  Spanish is the second most used language in the USA.  There are more Spanish speakers than speakers of Chinese, French, German, Italian, Hawaiian, and the Native American languages combined.  According to the Census Bureau, Spanish is the primary language of nearly 50 million people in the US.  This is the largest Spanish-speaking community outside of Mexico. Only half of these speakers also speak English “very well,” and 19% do not speak Spanish at all.

You can tap into all this potential when you speak Spanish.  Yet there are more benefits.

An article in England’s leading newspaper, the Telegraph, entitled “Why learn a foreign language? Benefits of bilingualism” (1) sum up the biggest benefit of learning a second language and increased intelligence.  The article says: “Learning a foreign language is more than just a boost to your CV or handy for traveling.  It will make you smarter, more decisive and even better at English.  Physiological studies have found that speaking two or more languages is a great asset to the cognitive process.  The brains of bilingual people operate differently than single language speakers, and these differences offer several mental benefits.”

The article then explains studies that show seven cognitive advantages gained from learning a foreign language.

#1:  You become smarter
#2:  You build multitasking skills
#3:  You stave off Alzheimer’s and dementia
#4:  Your memory improves
#5:  You become more perceptive
#6:  Your decision-making skills improve
#7:  You improve your English

Does it sound impossible to learn Spanish in three days?  Yes, it is impossible when you try to learn Spanish in the old, traditional way.

Though you may choose to take more time using this course to learn Spanish, thousands of our readers have learned at our Spanish courses.

There is a scientific method of learning… proven and described in numerous best selling books that create educational jumps by making education natural, easy and fun.   This course works because it is education without stress!

This method was created and refined by the Bulgarian educational master, Georgi Lozanov, who transformed the entire Soviet educational system to such a degree that this third world country beat the USA into space.

Merri was lucky to be one of a handful of students outside of Bulgaria who were allowed to be taught this system in the early 70s.  She practiced this unique and remarkable form of education for  four decades. It was a delight!

Merri and I began integrating these techniques with other shamanic and educational tactics we had gained in our global travels and then applied them to teach Spanish in three days.

The course has been proven again and again by the thousands who have used this system.  You can read a few of the many raves we have received from delegates who have learned from the Super Thinking Spanish course we created.

Here are a few quotes from delegates of the course.

One delegate from St. Louis wrote:  Hi Gary,  Just ended forty-five years in dentistry last week, and I’m on to a new career.  What is my new career?  Still formulating, but the eye -opening,mind expanding Super-Spanish course last weekend in St. Louis surely shows me the opportunity exists to expand my horizons.

Besides having a lot of nice people to learn our new language; the methods Merri and you developed proved to be just what you said they would be.  We all and I in particular relaxed our way to new learning.  I feel so very comfortable with the basis of my new language skills that I know I will be spitting out great Spanish sentences by the time I reach Ecuador in October.  Last year I spent six weeks in Ecuador and now I plan on conversing with the people.

Today’s excerpt of your newsletter really hit home. You do what you say you will. There are no surprises or hidden sales tricks. The only tricks are beneficial to our learning.  Thank you for a wonderful experience that I was quite unable to grasp how you would pull it off.  You did, however, and I look forward to other courses that you offer, and I have absolutely no doubt they also will work beneficially.  Best regards, Denis Molloy.

Another wrote about the Super Spanish course:   Buenos Dias, here is a testimonial for Super Thinking-Super Spanish.  Please feel free to use all or part in promotions for the course.  In addition, you may give my email address to any prospect “on the fence” about enrolling.  Yesterday, in Cotacachi, Ecuador, I finished Super Spanish.  I had high expectations for the course and they were exceeded.

After three days, I can speak Spanish in complete sentences. In simple conversations, such as buying groceries or ordering a meal, I can make myself understood. I think that’s incredible!

Although I am far from the competence level of a native speaker, I feel I’ve taken a giant step forward in learning Spanish so that I can experience the people and culture of Ecuador.  The foregoing benefits would have more than justified the time and money I invested in Super Spanish.  And learning some Spanish was not the most important benefit I got from the course.

Prior to leaving the USA, I had felt for some time that the pace of life there was unhealthy for me (and for most people) and I did nothing about it.

I’ve thought about the pace issue during the course.  One of the key elements Merri Scott designed into Super Spanish is placing the student in the optimal state for learning.  In class, the past three days, I’ve been re-introduced to guided journeys and introduced to the calming effects of Baroque music (www.sundaybaroque.org).  What a blessing! I’m inclined to make one or both a daily part of my life.   Rob Christi.  Cotacachi, Ecuador

Another attendee from a course wrote:   “I took this incredible class a few weeks ago, and I would like to tell anyone that is interested, that it is an amazing three days of learning with lots of laughs included. You leave everyday wanting to learn more and are so excited to do so.

“Other Spanish classes and tutoring made us feel like it would take forever to get to the point where we could put it into practice, but this method gave us a more fluent use for everyday life almost immediately AND the confidence to use it.  It is a fantastic way to show people how much they know and give confidence to learn and use Spanish creating a momentum.

“They made learning Spanish easy and fun in a very relaxed, comfortable atmosphere.  I would definitely recommend this course.  Even if you know some Spanish, this helps make it easier because of the less stress that no verb conjugations gives you.  This gives you more confidence in yourself to try and speak it more.

“The stress free atmosphere and tons of interaction and participation were very conducive to learning.  The relaxation techniques alone are worth the price.  The fact that I can now feel more comfortable conversing in Spanish with my new friends and neighbors is priceless.  Muchas, muchas gracias.”

“I loved the relaxed environment.  I picked up quite a lot of new vocabulary.  I found this course very informative about how the language works, how I can make sentences and understand others better!  Muchas Gracias!  I had a call from Telcel (the local phone company) after our second class and I was able to speak and understand them for the first time. Despacio (meaning slowly) … a great word!  Everyone should take this course before they pick up bad habits.”

“I liked how simply the course was organized and the positive attitude about learning.  Thank you so much for helping me to learn Spanish!”

“I liked the laid back yet professional approach.  I highly recommend this new, relaxing method of learning Spanish,  I feel a lot more confident in the delivery of my words and sentences. It was taught in an excellent and very professional way.

“It was a very enjoyable class.”

How The Course Works

The first tactic is to use Baroque music in the learning process.  At least three best selling books, “Superlearning”, the “Mozart Effect” and “Superlearning 2000” have revealed insights about how to learn and think more powerfully based on systems drawn from the Bulgarian educational master, Dr. Georgi Lozanov.  Merri Scott was among just a few who learned directly from Lozanov.

The second tactic uses 17 unique lessons to provide Spanish fluency in a short time.   Let me prove to you how this tactic works by teaching you hundreds of Spanish words in less than 30 seconds.

Here is the proof.

“Most words in English that end in ION are almost identical, just pronounced differently.  For example action is accion, education-educacion, manipulation- manipulacion, etc.”

There you have it.  How long did it take you to read the sentence?  You now know hundreds of Spanish words that you will never forget.

See examples of the words you already know below.

How long would have taken you to memorize all those words?  How soon would you have forgotten them?

This is just one of seventeen Spanish lessons in the course.

The next lesson teaches how to pronounce each of the nouns.

Then, the third lesson teaches almost as many verbs, almost as quickly.

The fourth lesson shows how to avoid conjugating verbs by sticking with the infinitive (far easier than it sounds).  This simple lesson leaves a person sounding like a Spanish professor without ever conjugating a verb.

Lesson five shows how to sound infinitely polite and yet get almost anything desired in Spanish.

Lesson six gives valuable connectors and the seventh lesson triples the Spanish capacity with three words for “yesterday,” “now” and “tomorrow”.

By the end of three days you feel comfortable speaking Spanish.

Plus the system is Impro-Dynamic.  This means your Spanish keeps getting better even though you do not seem to be studying… practicing… or speaking Spanish.

I was amazed by this as I traveled back and forth from the USA to Ecuador.  The longer I was away from Ecuador… the better my Spanish became.  My second language was automatically improving The self improving feature comes because you learn to create Spanish sentences rather than remember them.  The portion of the brain that creates is more powerful than the portion that recalls.  When your mind creates something… it owns it!  You do not have to remember .

During the course you learn 4005 Spanish words that you already know .

You then learn how to create Spanish sentences from these words.

Throughout the course you learn how to pronounce the sentences you create.

When the course ends… the mind keeps working… and creating… so next time you begin to speak Spanish you’ll be surprised .  You improve even though you have not actively worked on your lingual skill.

Here are more testimonials from previous Super Spanish Courses.

Maggie wrote: It didn’t really seem possible that we would be speaking and understanding Spanish in only 3 days but the course made it happen in a very supportive learning environment.  I would highly recommend this course for anyone wishing to learn “practical Spanish”.  The teaching methods, use of relaxation, the use of native Spanish speakers for pronunciation and the teachers themselves who were approachable and helpful and always positive made this a very valuable class.

This course improved my self confidence in my ability to learn and retain a language.  It was presented with genuine enthusiasm, great energy and the style of learning is very effective. Gracias!  It was a great experience.

Nadine wrote: “Just spent the last 3 days in the most wonderful learning environment learning Spanish.  What an amazing learning experience!!  First day out of class and I could not stop thinking in Spanish WOW!!  I am amazed by how much I learned, retained and how much more is showing up now that I am out of class.  And the best part is THERE WAS NO STUDYING!! Indeed this is Super Thinking!!!  I would highly recommend this to anyone that has ever had a desire to learn another language or learn anything in record time.

And a few days after that ….  As I went through my day, just hanging out with my son, I could see myself starting to think in Spanish.  At first I thought it was amusing but as it continued and increased I thought “My goodness this is really remarkable amazing” It was really an effortless unfolding.  I wasn’t at any point “trying” to think in Spanish, just words I knew would fly across the screen in my mind.  And then this afternoon, my son cuddled up on the couch to watch some cartoons on his ipad and was watching Peppa Pig in Spanish…hmm coincidence?  I think not, I’m radiating Spanish so much that my son is being influenced!  Thanks a million again.  This weekend the best learning experience of my life!!

If you have ever had a desire to learn Spanish this is the way to do it!  By the end of the first day I had more confidence and more practical ability than I had from any previous courses I had taken.  It was fun and relaxed and full of laughter.  You will leave this class excited to use what you have learned.  Rather than leaving overwhelmed with how much you have yet to learn and master, you are equipped with the knowledge and know how to go out and communicate as well as the excitement to do it!”

Gary noted:  “The whole approach is positive and conducive to learning at a level that benefits ALL participants.  It is not intimidating and does not set up a pass/fail atmosphere.  The presenters are terrific and the results unbelievable.  It was relaxed, informal, friendly and effective.”

Twila said:  “This class provided a very refreshing and relaxed way of learning.  The atmosphere felt very safe to say the words you were practicing.  I learned a lot in a way that will make it easy to apply.  Starting with conversation is way more fun.  How quickly you can learn!  It was a great group, great instructors and great stories.

The atmosphere in the classroom was so relaxed that learning Spanish felt like a breeze and not like a painful task.  The relaxation exercises are really conducive to language learning.  We learned A LOT in a short time and it was fun and the environment was non-threatening.”

Brigitte sent this:  “Buenos Dias, Suzanne. su clase de espanol es excelente! Muchas Gracias!
I have already done what you suggested and went into the program listening to the music and going over the lessons.  I know: Repetition……reinforcement…..thinking in the new language….it’s all part of it.  I loved your course and will certainly recommend it to friends.  Who knows….I might feel the urge and have the opportunity to repeat it at your beautiful place in Puerto Aventuras…..Quien sabe? Hasta otro dia y saludos a su familia.”

Marie wrote:  “I would highly recommend this course.  The amount covered in 3 days is amazing!  All with no stress.  The correlation lessons and pronunciation practice has greatly reduced my anxiety to go out and use my Spanish.  I really enjoyed the whole process and thank you for the take away tools.”

Here is the English translation of a few of the many Spanish words you now know and will never forget.  How long would it have taken you to memorize them?  How soon would you forget?

“Most words in English that end in ION are almost identical, just pronounced differently.  For example, action is accion, education-educacion, manipulation- manipulacion, etc.”

Some more of these words:  Combination, Attrition, Education, Vacation, Petition, Lotion, Motion, Construction, Abduction, Pronunciation, Concentration and a ton of others!

Pivotal Week – Going with the Flow – Day 6

Read a really wonderful story about how our frequency modulation workshop created a new earning idea by going with the flow.

Life goes on.    History shows that most of us can see the ways that our children will adapt change and improve our world.  The future is theirs and they have always led us to prosper more.  This is because nature encourages youth to embrace change.

This is why, though it’s easy to be caught up in short term dilemmas… we should not.  Everything always works out… naturally.   So if this weekend events in Congress have you worried remember Y2K…. big fears… but really no problem.

gary-scott

This is why Merri and I have such joy in welcoming Matilda Scott-Marsden into this world.  Born July 27, 2011, our fifth grandchild.

This has been a marvelous month for us… as we have had time with all our grandchildren… Sequoia and Teeka Cross

gary-scott

and of course, the eldest, Garren Hall.

gary-scott

Now Matilda is here and our fifth is due this October!

Focus on the children because they can teach us so much about how to embrace change in their play.

Because our grandchildren are spread round the world… Florida, Oregon and England… we have built grandkid traps… homes that lure them to us. You can see above what we get up to at our North Carolina farm… 250 acres of hiking, fishing, building, bird and game watching…. a world of play, meadows of beauty, creeks of fish.

In Florida,

gary-scott

we have the sun, the lake and a tree house with a rope swing.  It’s the swing that provided the lesson to me about…

going with the flow.  Garren and I were camping up in the tree house talking “Guy Things” when Garren decided to take a change and swing out of the tree.  He was frightened a bit… having never jumped from a tree before.  He did it!

“This is so much fun!” he exclaimed.  He’s now hooked on jumping into the unknown.

That’s the lesson.  Have faith in the future.  Go with the flow and be willing to jump into the unknown.

Now let’s share an actual case study that is taking place right now.  This story shows how fast a business can evolve when you unlock the power of mind integration and are willing to go with the flow.

We have a system that unlocks our higher forms of intelligence that we cannot access in lingual form.  We practice this technique in our Frequency Modulation Workshop during our International Investing and Business Seminars.

Here are the three steps in this technique:

Step #1: Write by hand for five or ten minutes everything you can about a business idea.  This connects the the mind/body functions.

Step #2: Take a ten minute meditation or sit quietly for 10 minutes listening to Baroque largo music.  Relax and let your mind wander… use innocence… no expectation.

Step #3: At the end of ten minutes write down whatever is on your mind at that time. Write as much about it as you can…just let it flow.

In the thoughts…in the visions that you have at the end of the ten minute meditation or in the quiet listening, there will be an out of the box idea to dwell on… often in graphic form…a picture rather than words.  Dwell easily on this in context of your business.

This tactic was taught to me by a Buddhist Monk and we work with delegates and practice this in the “Quantum Wealth – Frequency Modulation Workshop.

We are all connected…we are all a part of infinite intelligence… that is overwhelming in relation to our ability to think… especially in terms as restrictive as language.  The universe terra, terra infinite, bytes of data.  Our logic in comparison as a processor… not even 64K.  So at the least we cannot expect to tap into the universe in English.   Symbols perhaps.

Here is the Case Study.

At the end of our case study at our June 2011 workshop, one of the delegates, Kathryn Vautrot told me…”Gary, the picture I had was of working with you and Merri recording your online courses.  My husband, Mills, and I love to listen to educational courses when we are traveling in our car and would love to listen to your courses.”

I was momentarily dumbstruck… before “Duh” kicked in.   Merri and I used to offer our seminars on Cassette tape and readers loved them.  We have our seminars available on MP3… but we had never thought of recording our online courses on CD so readers could listen to them in cars.

Why not?  “Duh” is all I can say and “Thank You, Kathryn” for giving us this spark.

We have learned to go with the flow and be willing to jump into the unknown. In this case Kathryn and Mills did a test recording.  They are really good and in just one month  Kathryn and her husband have a joint venture business with us… recording our online courses and sending them to readers on CD!

According to Answerbag.com a recent arbitron survey, shows that on average, Americans spend approximately two and a half hours a day in their car. Imagine how much one can learn when that time is devoted to education!

You can now help and save yourself $300 in the process.

First, listen to a sample of the first lesson being recorded by Kathryn here.

Beta Beta Beta

Merri and I learn by doing and by jumping into the unknown so this venture has moved quickly.  We have the sample but the first course “Self Fulfilled – How to Have  Your Own Publishing Business” is not yet complete on CD… and here I am marketing it… when I have not even yet figured out the glitches and the cost of delivering the product.

To learn I would like to make a limited beta offer that save you $300.  The online course “Self Fulfilled – How to Have  Your Own Publishing Business” is $499.  I will accept 25 orders for this course on CD up to midnight August 2, 2011… four days from for only $199.  You save $300.  You can have the course on CD as well as online.  Online can be an immediate delivery.

The downside is you have to wait for the CDs… because Kathryn is not finished recording yet and then she has to learn how to make the “Dupe on Demand CD” system work.

We may lose money on these 25.  We won’t know until the time and the costs of making and sending you these CDs is through.  That’s not  your problem. We accept that risk… though our guarantee is a little less than normal.  We’ll be paying hard cash for duping the CDs and shipping them to you… so if you are not happy we’ll provide credit to any seminar or other online course… not a cash refund.  This means (in a way) we share the risk.

For this you get the CDS at almost cost or even perhaps less and we gain an education by jumping into the unknown.

To join us in this little educational venture…. order here.

This offer is limited to the first 25 orders before midnight August 2nd, 2011.

Jump Into the Unknown.  Go with the Flow even when in the stress of traffic.  Gaining new knowledge relieves bad stress and creates good thoughts and action.

Research mentioned at the Franklin Institute on learning says:

Distress Signals from Your Brain

Your sympathetic nervous system does an excellent job of rapidly preparing you to deal with what is perceived as a threat to your safety. Its hormones initiate several metabolic processes that best allow you to cope with sudden danger.

Your adrenal glands release adrenaline (also known as epinephrine) and other hormones that increase breathing, heart rate, and blood pressure. This moves more oxygen-rich blood faster to the brain and to the muscles needed for fighting or fleeing. And, you have plenty of energy to do either, because adrenaline causes a rapid release of glucose and fatty acids into your bloodstream. Also, your senses become keener, your memory sharper, and you are less sensitive to pain.

Other hormones shut down functions unnecessary during the emergency. Growth, reproduction, and the immune system all go on hold. Blood flow to the skin is reduced. That’s why chronic stress leads to sexual dysfunction, increases your chances of getting sick, and often manifests as skin ailments.  With your mind and body in this temporary state of metabolic overdrive, you are now prepared to respond to a life-threatening situation.

Stress is Not All Bad

Bear in mind that an appropriate stress response is a healthy and necessary part of life. One of the things it does is to release norepinephrine, one of the principal excitatory neurotransmitters. Norepinephrine is needed to create new memories. It improves mood. Problems feel more like challenges, which encourages creative thinking that stimulates your brain to grow new connections within itself.

Stress management is the key, not stress elimination. The challenge in this day and age is to not let the sympathetic nervous system stay chronically aroused. This may require knowledge of techniques that work to activate your relaxation response.

Switch the bad stress of traffic to the good stress of learning.

Merri and I named our farm Merrily Farms after the song “Row Your Boat”.

We wanted to be constantly reminded to  relieve stress by following these words: “Row Row Row Your boat gently down the stream. Merrily Merrily Merrily Merrily, Life is but a Dream.”  How true and what good advice!

Succeed Inspite of Change & Stress

Here is another tip that can help you survive change, stress and inflation… invest better and  get your international micro business get up and running.  When you are faced with change… be calm.  Relax and concentrate!

Many readers worry about innumerable types of outside problems that can affect their health and wealth… a double dip economy…  inflation… bank failures… job layoffs… failing business… collapsed real estate values…  foreclosures… health care costs… crime… war.

Yet the biggest risks are inside and they are accelerated by stress.

A Guardian.com  article entitled “How to survive workplace stress in the recession” says:  Stress is on the rise, due to the recession. Emine Saner on how to survive job insecurity, huge workloads and those very long hours.

An EzineArticles.com article points out the problem.  Horrendous things happen every second on this planet. People and animals are harmed, or even killed. Plants are going extinct. Property is destroyed. Natural disasters wreak havoc. People become homeless, lose their loved ones, or become permanently disabled. The list of awful things that can happen is endless. Seeing or hearing news about things that seem bad can be very stressful. It can cause feelings of powerlessness, panic, anxiety, sadness, anger, and fear. Understanding your reaction to bad things will help you find a place of peace inside, regardless of what is happening around the world.

A Financialawakenings.com article points out the reaction in an article that says:  Bryan flipped on MSNBC to catch the stock market’s closing numbers. It was March 9, 2009. A visibly shaken reporter was telling viewers the Dow Jones had fallen to 6547, its lowest closing in over thirteen years. Retirement accounts had lost trillions of dollars, and many experts expected the market to continue to fall.  Bryan’s heart raced; his hands began sweating. He grabbed the phone and ordered his investment advisor to sell all his investments and move everything to money market funds. Psychologists, investment advisors, and neuroscientists will agree that what Bryan did wasn’t rational. He reacted to the decline of the stock market as if his life were in danger. While watching stock markets fall is not enjoyable, there was no real emergency. He and his wife were in their mid-50’s, still working, with about $1,000,000 in their retirement accounts that they wouldn’t need for another ten years. The volatility in their portfolio was not going to affect their current cash flow or lifestyle.

One financial advisor, Tom Ruggie, whom I know wrote it this way:  What are two things people tend to buy less of when the price goes down? Normally, people like a bargain. When we go shopping, we feel much better buying things when they’re 20% off or “Buy one, get the second at half price”.  But, there are two things that tend to buck this trend of buying when the price goes down. In fact, with these two things, people tend to buy more of them after their price has run up. Do you have your guess on what they are?
How about real estate and stocks?
According to the most recent S&P/Case-Shiller Home Price Indices, home prices on average across the U.S. are back to their summer of 2003 level, meaning, they’re the cheapest they’ve been in about eight years. So, are Americans clamoring to buy homes? Nope. In February, new home sales in the U.S. fell to a record low on a seasonally adjusted annual rate, according to MarketWatch. Yet, during the boom times in 2005-2006 — when prices and sales were at their peak — people were buying homes like crazy and “flipping” them, according to the U.S. Census Bureau and Standard and Poor’s.
Likewise, when it comes to stocks, history suggests that people tend to shun them when prices are down. For example, how many Americans were loading up the truck to buy more stocks as the market was declining to its recent low in March 2009? Not many. Yet, how many felt comfortable buying internet stocks in late 1999 as their prices were zooming?
These two examples suggest that housing and stocks are two major categories that defy traditional expectations. Knowing that, being a “contrarian” investor in these assets may be a smart long-term plan.

Why though do people react to stress in exactly the wrong way? A Physorg.com article entitled “Research shows emotional stress can change brain function” outlines the science. Research conducted by Iaroslav Savtchouk, a graduate student, and S. June Liu, PhD, Associate Professor of Cell Biology and Anatomy at LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans, has shown that a single exposure to acute stress affected information processing in the cerebellum – the area of the brain responsible for motor control and movement coordination and also involved in learning and memory formation. The work is published in the January 12, 2011 issue of The Journal of Neuroscience.

The simple fact is that it is not what happens in the world that creates our successes and/or failures, it is how we react to events.

This article may be important because my 43 years (this May 2011) of observation, international investing, business and economic study suggests we will see some very tough times from now into or through 2012.  Then economic and social events will start to recover and get better… richer… happier.

Those who keep their heads on straight now will be those who are in a position to really take advantage of the recovery of 2013.

The best mode of thinking to create this survival and preparation for success is relaxed concentration.

Obtaining this mental state however is not always easy because starting a new business… and the learning curve can create stress.

Fortunately there are techniques you can use to relieve and eliminate stress and increase your intelligence at the same time.

This is important because change like a new business can create a brain drain when brain frequencies become scattered from worry… confusion… and such.

ecuador-spanish-program

Delegates at our Super Thinking + Spanish Courses and our Shamanic tours learn about incorporating frequencies of thought. Here delegates get ready for a shamanic ceremony aimed at helping tune the mind.

During times of rapid change most of us have ups and downs in our lives so we need a zone defense to keep up, adapt and move ahead.

Excerpts from a Time magazine article entitled “Getting and Staying in the Zone” by Alice Park explains how to gain an edge.

Elite athletes talk a lot about being in the zone, that magical place where mind and body work in perfect synch and movements seem to flow without conscious effort. Major-league pitchers, NBA stars, pro golfers and Olympic hopefuls dedicate their careers to the search for this elusive feeling, devoting hours of training to “listening” to their body and “reading” their muscles—trying to construct a bridge between mind and body sturdy enough to lead them straight to athletic nirvana.

But the truly great athletes, those with long careers and performances that fans talk about for generations, know that maintaining a competitive edge is less about keeping it honed to perfection at all times than realizing they can lose the edge every once in a while and still get it back.

Athletes in the throes of a slump will swear that it came all of a sudden, out of nowhere. But psychologists say the episodes are less mysterious than they seem. They usually stem from a failure to prepare mentally for the pressure of athletic competition. “Training is about strengthening the mind-body connection,” says Kirsten Peterson, sports psychologist for the U.S. Olympic Committee. “Athletes need to train their mind with the same discipline that they train their bodies.”

ecuador-spanish-program

Delegates head onto the lake for the ceremony.

The three tips here help you learn how to integrate brain wave frequencies so we can get into the zone.

Off they go…

ecuador-spanish-program

headed for…

ecuador-spanish-program

a frequency ceremony at this shore.

There are at least three simple ways to turn on this super thinking ability:  meditation, listening to 60 cycle music and taking theanine.

Being in the zone comes when we integrate four categories of brainwaves, ranging from beta waves, the fastest of the four different brainwaves to alpha, theta and the final brainwave state, delta. Delta brainwaves are of the greatest amplitude and slowest frequency.  Deep dreamless sleep takes you down to the lowest frequency.

When we allow these waves to interconnect freely we gain unimaginable intellect.

First, Merri and I meditate twice every day to tap into this energy.

Plus we listen to 60 beat ten cycle classical music as we work. You could count the number of times I’ve missed this meditation routine in the last 20 years on one hand. This has helped us enormously.

We have learned many forms of meditation but use TM and have for decades because it is so simple… yet effective that we find it easy to do even with a busy schedule.

Dr. Norman Rosenthal who led the team that described Seasonal Affective Disorder and pioneered the use of light therapy for treatment.  He is the chief resident at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and the New York Psychiatric Institute and has written a book “Transcendence: Healing and Transformation Through Transcendental Meditation” which will be released day after tomorrow.

He has been researching Transcendental Meditation as a means to combat related post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and said  “on the finding that heart attack, stroke and mortality rates were reduced by 47% in coronary patient who practised Transcendental Meditation offered this thought, ‘If this kind of result was observed for a new prescription drug, it would be a billion-dollar industry to make it available to everyone immediately’.

Second, we use 60 cycle music, along with deep breathing exercises for relaxation.  These move the mind into Alpha and deeper states as well. Health benefits are gained as blood pressure can drop, heart rates slow and the mind becomes calmed.

Scientific double blind studies comparing effects from TM and baroque music show that they both deliver powerful and similar results.

Fwd: super-thinking

Relaxed concentration is the mental state that puts one in the zone during activity.

This can be as simple as listening to relaxing Baroque music such as Handel’s Water Music. A few others compositions at this cycle include Beethoven, Bach, Vivaldi, etc.

Music has been used for centuries to induce states…babies being lullabyed to sleep, sea chanteys and harvesting songs to ease workers while laboring. Eastern mystics and South American shaman have used music to carry them to unusual states of consciousness.

Your body relaxes and your mind becomes alert in these simple forms of relaxation.

Soviet psychologist, I.K. Platonov, found it was possible to just use a metronome beating at 60 to enable the mind to take in and hold more strongly.

Here is a portion of some of the recommended music provided with that study.

Bach, J.S.: Largo from Concerto in G Minor for Flute and Strings. Bach and Telemann Flute Concerts and Aria to The Goldberg Variations.

Corelli, A.: Sarabanda (largo) from Concerto #7 in D Minor.

Corelli: 12 Concerti Grossi op.5

Handel, G.F.: Largo from Concerto #1 in F. Music from the Royal Fireworks.

Telemann, G.: Largo from Double Fantasia in G Major for Harpsichord.

6 Fantasias for Harpsichord Vivaldi, A.: Largo from Winter. The Four Seasons

See how to use music to learn how to speak Spanish in just four days.

Everything is frequency.  When we are in balance, our frequencies give us good health and boundless energy.   Yet there are many frequencies in the modern world from noise to fast food to micro-waves that disturb our natural frequency balance.  Balanced music can help restore your balance.

A third avenue that helps the mind slip into the zone is Theanine (chemical name: r-glutamylethylamide) one of the chemicals found in green tea. Theanine is used to reduce stress and anxiety without the tranquilizing effects found in many other calming agents. Scientific evidence shows that Theanine stimulates the brain’s production of alpha waves, making the user feel relaxed but alert and not drowsy. It also helps the body produce other calming amino acids, such as dopamine, GABA, and tryptophan. As might be expected from a calming supplement, Theanine may be able to lower elevated blood pressure as well.

One way to get Theanine is available from from my friend, health care provider Joe Spano, MD.

Joe a board certified anti aging MD, has spent a lot of time with Merri and me studying shamanic ceremonies in Ecuador.

When Joe gives me a health idea, I listen. His resume shows why:

This is what you want… relaxed concentration.

The philosopher, Heraclitus, stated reality correctly when he said… “Nothing endures but change”.

Henry Thoreau made an important comment about life:  “Things do not change; we change”.

So during times of great change, we can change in ways that improve our health, increase our wealth and provide better lifestyles as we start our new business.

Avoid Stress With Music

Stress kills.

Stress can harm you physically… plus ruin your ability to make good investing, business and lifestyle decisions.

Yet we live in a stressful world.

So how can we reduce stress? One way to relax is through music.

Stress-and-music

Merri and I continually listen to Baroque music and I play to reduce stress.

There is a great study on stress at the website of Weber University.  One chapter entitled “Stress and the Environment” shows how important music is to both reducing and creating stress. The entire chapter is linked below.

Dr. T. C. Singh, head of the Botany Department at Annamalia University, India, has conducted research into the effects of music on plants. He discovered not only that constant exposure to classical music caused plants to grow at twice their normal speed, but also went on to find what seemed to be one of the main causes of this accelerated growth. In his experiments, the violin was found to be one of the most life-enhancing instruments of all.

Yet, perhaps the most interesting and significant of all of Dr. Singh’s findings was that later generations of the seeds of musically stimulated plants carried on the improved traits of greater size, more leaves, and other characteristics. Music had changed the plants’ chromosomes!

To listen to Handel’s Messiah is not to debate intellectually about religion; it is to feel and become one with that surging inner flame of devotion. . . . It is the essence of this state that enters into us, tending to mold and shape our own consciousness into conformity with itself.

Several additional studies reflect the interesting and powerful effect of music.

One study done by Dorothy Retallack looked to see if plants responded to music similarly to how they respond to light. Plants respond to light in an interesting way. If a plant is place on a window sill where direct sunlight will shine, its flowers, after a period of time, will turn in the direction of the window and toward the sunlight. If the plant is turned so the flowers face away from the window, after a time, the flowers will again turn in the direction of the sun. Certainly many things are involved here, but one thing is certain, the plant seems to have a preference for sunlight. They respond positively to the light. Dr. Retellack wanted to see if the plants would respond in a similar way to types of music.

Six separate chambers were used with music speakers and similar plants in each chamber. Each plant received the same amount of water, light, and nourishment. The only difference for each plant was the type of music that was played in each of the chambers.

The first plant chamber had country & western music playing for a period of time. The plants exposed to this type of music didn’t appear to respond at all.

The second chamber of plants had the music of Claude Debussy playing continuously. The plants in this chamber responded by leaning away from the speakers by about 30%. The plants didn’t appear to have a preference for this type of music.

The plants in the third chamber were exposed to Jazz music. They responded by leaning toward the speakers by about 10%.

The fourth chamber had Indian Sitar music playing. The plants in this chamber were reported to respond by leaning toward the speakers by about 75%.

These plants appeared to show a great preference for this type of music. The next chamber had adagio movements of baroque music continuously playing. The plants in this chamber responded the same was as those exposed to the Indian Sitar music. Dr. Retellack reported that those plants that were closest to the speakers actually wrapped some of their branches around the speakers.

The final chamber of plants was exposed to the music of Led Zeppelin, a rock and roll group from the 1970’s. The results showed that these plants, after a short period of time withered and died.

We live in an era of rapid change and often new events can be disturbing… even bewildering and beyond stress.   Stress creates negative loops in lifetsyles. Stress leads to bad decisions and actions which create more stress… whihc blinds one to correct decsions.

There are numerous ways to reduce stress… one easy… effective… enjoyable way to reduce stress is through good music.

Listen… just 18 minutes day.  We guarantee your life will be better.

Inflate Your IQ.

When it comes to money… inflation is cheating.

That’s bad for you.

When it comes to intelligence… inflating is smart… fair… good for you and it’s good for the rest of the world.

Monetary inflation is a sneaky government and business trick.

What cost a dollar in 1965 can easily cost $15 now.

They promise you more.

Liars?

They devalue the currency so you get more dollars that buy less.  They can rip off your salary,  your pension…raise insurance, almost everything.

And they make you work harder… longer… for less.

Whittle, whittle, whittle.  Push, push, push.  That’s what monetary inflation does to you.

Fight back… overcome the inflation trick.  Inflate your IQ as you relax.

Gain more than IQ.

Be smarter… more energetic…. healthier… more relaxed.

That’s the way to get ahead!

Create more income opportunity.  Reduce stress.  Improve your health.  Be naturally smarter… use Super Thinking.

You can improve your IQ in just weeks.

You might well ask… How is this possible?

Here’s how the scientists say it is possible.

A Wall Street Journal article entitled “Ways to Inflate Your IQ”(1)  show how you can be smarter and actually add matter to your brainThe article says:

Many people think of IQ as a genetic trait, like brown eyes or short legs: You’re born with it and you’re stuck with it.

Now, a growing body of research is showing that a person’s IQ can rise—and even fall—over the years.

Scores can change gradually or quickly, after as little as a few weeks of cognitive training, research shows.

British students were given IQ tests and brain scans at ages 12 to 16 and again about four years later.  9% of the students showed a significant change of 15 points or more in IQ scores.

The study published in Nature said that on a scale where 90 to 110 is considered average, one student’s IQ rose 21 points to 128 from 107, lifting the student from the 68th percentile to the 97th compared with others the same age.

MRIs in this study showed changes in gray matter in areas corresponding to fluctuations in the kid’s skills.

There are practical steps people can take to see longer-term IQ changes.  New tasks stimulate the brain most.  Young adults given just one month of intense training in juggling, found an increase in the corresponding gray matter in the brain as early as seven days after the training began.

Fluctuations in IQ scores over time underscore the brain-boosting benefits of musical training and new experiences throughout a lifetime.

Music lessons are linked to higher IQ throughout life.  Six years’ lessons lifted children’s IQ scores an average 7.5 points.

Improve the brain through music… without lessons.

Here’s the Super Thinking story…

The educational program Merri and I developed uses a form of brain wave integration that increases IQ.

Super Thinking uses frequency (in music and a number of other ways) to integrate brain waves so the process of absorbing, processing and recalling information is vastly accelerated.  The music creates the three C’s:  Calm, Clarity and Coherence.

This Super Thinking program is not a gimmick or trick… just advanced education.

Certain types of Baroque music are the base, and they make you smarter!

Proof?

At least four best selling books, “Psychic Discoveries Behind the Iron Curtain”,  “Superlearning”, the “Mozart Effect” and “Superlearning 2000″ showed how to learn and think more powerfully based on systems drawn from the Bulgarian educational master, Dr. Georgi Lozanov.

This Baroque music tactic alone is so powerful that Small Business Innovation Research… an official site of the US government granted over $100,000 for the specific purpose they said was: to provide a method to remove barriers which hinder or prevent the employment of blind persons.  An innovative method, the Lozanov Learning System, is proposed to help train blind persons to become computer programmers and operators of automated equipment.

Merri was among just a few who learned this technique directly from Dr. Lozanov the time he visited the USA.

Our Super Thinking workshop enhanced this system with numerous other tactics.

We added slight alterations in nutrition that create a higher IQ.   Altered nutritional tips in Super Thinking can make anyone 25% smarter!

Baroque Music and nutrition are just part of seven, easy to use, learning techniques that make you smarter.

Gain any skill, from computers to athletics to conversational languages…in less time…two-to-five times faster.

Here’s a huge bonus.  Super Thinking also relieves stress.  Super Thinking is fun.

You can use a Super Thinking focus in everything:  health… earning… education… investing.

Super Thinking works on the learner first…the data second.  This system “grows the learner” rather than the information.

If you have 4.5 inches of information flowing through a 4 inch learning pipe, the solution is not to add another inch of information.  The answer is create a six inch IQ pipe!

Share our years of experience.

For nearly 50 years, Merri and I have conducted hundreds of courses and tours for tens of thousands, in dozens of countries (even behind the Iron Curtain).  Our Super Thinking Workshop has been one of the most profound.  Now the workshop is even better online because it condenses Super Thinking so you can increase your IQ, at home… right away.

The workshop shows how these mind expanding tactics can be applied to starting and running a business for extra income, to forex trading and investing.  Athletes of all types… golfing being one common sport benefit.  Our Super Thinking plan goes far beyond Lozanov and allows you to rapidly get smarter in every part of your life.

For example, real estate broker, Suzy Kurinsky took the workshop to help her learn Spanish.

She wrote: “You are the BEST!!! Your Seminar was fantastic! I am so excited. I had procrastinated fulfilling my continuing education for my Broker’s License and then just before my surgeries, I realized by expiration date isn’t Nov. 12th – it is Sept 12th. Prior to taking your course I had only completed 3 units of the required 45 units. I thought I would take your course and then complete my remaining 42 units over the next 2 weeks. However, I took one class exam on Saturday night, August 27th. I didn’t even take the cellophane off the required Course manuals until after I saw the two of you today less than 5 hours ago! I used your techniques and completed 39 units of continuing education today. I have now completed all 45 units. All of my test scores were in the 90.6-96% range.  My course exam information is listed below. I just wanted to let you know how valuable your course was to me. Thanks again!”

Super thinking can improve almost anything you do… faster, better, more fun and with less stress.

Another attendee to the Super Thinking Workshop sent this note.

Thank you for the wonderful workshop on Super Learning + Spanish!  I really enjoyed the workshop and getting to know you.   I can see several ways to apply what I learned in the classes I teach.

Since I returned home, I have purchased some of the CDs of Baroque music and thought about which specific pieces will work best in different parts of my classes.  I am also reading Perfect Health by Deepak Chopra.  I found your discussion of this book to be very helpful in showing how to balance one’s life.  I have adjusted my daily schedule, and I can already notice a difference in my productivity.

Super Thinking can help improve your health. Super Thinking can make you rich and add richness to your life.

However the time, travel expense and workshop cost (delegates have paid up to $999) have prohibited many from getting this benefit.

That’s why we have created the workshop in electronic form.  Get Super Thinking online for less than fifty bucks.

You can order the online Super Thinking Workshop here ($49.95)

Relax in the Secret Rose Garden.

The workshop is divided into two parts.  Part one is the application… the sessions that tell you exactly what to do, what music to use and even includes two recorded sessions based around a secret rose garden that you can use.  We have kept this portion short and simple so you can easily start immediately.

Part two is a longer portion on theory.

Part one is enough.

Super Thinking is like jogging… giving results if you simply do it!

You do not have to know why Super Thinking works to increase your IQ.   But Part Two explains why you are getting the good results from Part One, if you want to know.

You might ask…”Will it work for me”?

The Super Thinking Workshop will help increase your IQ.

Our guarantee.

I guarantee it.  Order the Super Thinking Workshop.  Use it for two months.  If you are not totally satisfied… in any way, during that time, simply let me know and I’ll send a full refund… immediately… no questions asked.

Another Super Thinking workshop attendee wrote: Listening to the two of you during our time together has suddenly got me to thinking, and although some of the ideas still seem foreign to me,  I am at a point in my life now where I can say, “anything is possible”.   I am now willing to embrace and allow myself to experience the world of possibility and let it take me in directions I may have in the past resisted.  I really don’t know where all this is going to lead me but I am now willing to explore, develop and grow.   Thank you again for a wonderful four days!!

Inflation is a cheat… a crime when it comes to money.  Inflating your IQ to beat inflation is simple good sense.  Learn Super Thinking now with no risk.  Begin to increase your intelligence today.

Stress and the Environment

New Occupations Reduce Stress

New occupations can reduce stress.

ecuador-spas

Spas are a great way to…

ecuador-spas

reduce stress. Jean Marie Butterlin who conducts our Ecuador Super Spanish… and Shamanic programs is visiting many spas with his wife,

ecuador-spas

Pascale. Here they are at a spa in Puyo, Ecuador. A report on Ecuador spas comes soon.  Jean Marie and his family left a much more stressful life and careers in France and Spain and now live in Ecuador, researching, writing and discovering their new path.  He is centering now on finding business opportunities all over Ecuador.

Reducing stress is important. In 42 years of advising readers on global investing and business… my experience is that that most losses and most opportunities missed are due to bad decisions… not lack of information.  Stress leads to bad decisions.

A science daily article entitled Stress Hinders Rats’ Decision-Making Abilities shows how much the effect may be. Here is an excerpt.

ScienceDaily (Nov. 21, 2008) — A little bit of stress goes a long way and can have far-reaching effects. Neuroscientists from the University of Washington have found that a single exposure to uncontrollable stress impairs decision making in rats for several days, making them unable to reliably seek out the larger of two rewards.

We do not have to live on a rat race of stress either.

Another article on May 18, 2010 entitled “Daily stress and worry plummet after age 50” in USA Today By Sharon Jayson gives us a clue.

An excerpt says:  After 50, daily stress and worry take a dive and daily happiness increases, according to an analysis of more than 340,000 adults questioned about the emotions they experienced “yesterday.”

The research, published online today in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, shows that young adults experience more negative emotions more frequently than those who are older. Negative emotions, such as stress and anger, are similar in that they consistently decline with age, but worry holds steady until around 50, when it sharply drops, the study shows.

There are many ways to reduce stress.

Stress Buster #1: Exercise. Here is an excerpt from the Mayo Clinic article “Exercise: Rev up your routine to reduce stress”
Physical activity — whether it’s a relaxing walk, bicycle racing or meditative tai chi — helps relieve stress.  By Mayo Clinic staff
By now, you should know that exercise does your body good. But did you also know that virtually any form of exercise can decrease the production of stress hormones and counteract your body’s natural stress response? It’s true. The same regular exercise routine that helps prevent disease and builds muscle can also help you better manage stress.

Stress Buster #2: Listen to Baroque Music. One chapter in a study at Weber University in Utah entitled “Stress and the Environment” says: The Effects of Music.  Even though the term music therapy is fairly new, the practice of using music to heal can be traced back to antiquity. The healing power of music therapy is even recorded in the Bible: “And whenever the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, David took the lyre and played it with his hand; so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.” (1 Samuel, 16:23).

Another interesting example, in our earlier history is written about the Russian Envoy Count Kayserling. The Count suffered with miserable insomnia. To deal with the problem, he asked Johann Goldberg, a local musician to play for him at night. Goldberg seized his harpsichord and played a piece of music written especially for the Count by Johann Sebastian Bach. The Count had informed Bach about his terrible problems with sleeplessness. He asked Bach to compose some music that might help him relax and get to sleep.

Soon Goldberg was playing the music that Bach had composed for the Count’s problem every time the count was having one of his sleepless nights. The Count had Goldberg installed in a room nearby ready to play at the Count’s beckon call. The Count was so happy with the positive effects of this music that he gave Bach a lavish gift of gold. We know this relaxing composition by Bach today as the Goldberg Variations.

Music therapy has been used throughout history as a way of coping with difficult situations. One such example is that of the people who were forced into Auschwitz, a Nazi concentration camp during World War II. People being separated from family and friends, being forced into slave labor, watching many people around them executed and waiting for their turn to die created an extremely stressful situation. The people in these camps seemed to have little to live for, yet many remained strong, and endured the trial. When asked what kept them going many would respond that music was one source of strength. It seemed to bind the prisoners together. There is a story of a group that was in the changing room for the gas chamber, and they were heard singing the Czechoslovakian national anthem and then a Hebrew song, “Hatikvah,” as a way to give each other strength for what was ahead of them. Music was a way for them to find peace, even in war and death.

Don Campbell, teacher and researcher in the fields of music, sound, health, and learning and founder and former director of the Institute for Music, Health, and Education in Boulder, Colorado writes of others throughout history who have shown evidence of the importance and power of music:

•    Early Greeks thought there was a clear connection between music and mathematics. Over the entrance to Plato’s Academy at Athens there was an inscription that could be translated: “No one may enter who does not know earth’s rhythm.” . . . in the belief that what held all things together was music.

•    Hindus believe there is a seed sound at the heart of creation, the Nada Braham, the tone from which God made the world, “which continues to sound at the bottom of creation, and which sounds through everything.”

•    A passage in the Tibetan Book of the Dead describes the essence of reality as “reverberating like a thousand distant thunders.”

•    Pythagoras asserted in the fifth century B.C. that, “There is geometry in the humming of the strings. There is music in the spacings of the spheres.”

•    Plotinus: “All music, based upon melody and rhythm, is the earthly representative of heavenly music.”

•    Lao-tzu spoke of the Great Tone that is “the tone that goes beyond all unusual imagination.”

•    Ancient writings are filled with testimonies to music’s power to perform miracles of healing or transformation, whether in ancient Greece or Rome, in the Bible, or other ancient texts.

•    Rumi, thirteenth century Islamic master, wrote:
We have heard these melodies in Paradise;
But while we are thus shrouded by gross earthly veils,
How can the tones of the dancing spheres reach us?”

•    To get in touch with music that allows access to the unconscious and inner depths, one must listen to the masterpieces of baroque, classical, romantic and impressionist composers who have encoded many of their works with messages of divine inspiration and unity. Great compositions offer those who listen, keys to personal transformation and the understanding of wholeness.

David Tame, another musicologist, spoke of music in his book the Secret Power of Music in these ways:  To the question, “Does music affect man’s physical body?” modern research replies in the clear affirmative. There is scarcely a single function of the body that cannot be affected by musical tones. The roots of the auditory nerves are more widely distributed and possess more extensive connections than those of any other nerves in the body. Investigation has shown that music affects digestion, internal secretions, circulation, nutrition and respiration. Even the neural networks of the brain have been found to be sensitive to harmonic principles.

Music affects the body in two distinct ways: directly, as the effect of sound upon the cells and organs, and indirectly, by affecting the emotions, which then in turn influence numerous bodily processes.

Stress Buster #3: Do what you love: Yet it turns out that part of the reason that those over 50 have reduced stress is they become more willing to take on new occupations.  To see more on why this is important click here.

How We Can Serve You

How to Have Real Safety in 2020

The most important investment you can make in 2020, is in yourself.

Invest in more time.  Invest in less stress. Invest in greater security. That’s why four years ago we created the Purposeful Investing Course (PI) because when it comes to finances, there are only three reasons why we should invest.  We invest for income.  We invest to resell our investments for more than we had invested.  We invest to make our world a better place.

We should not invest for fun, excitement or to get rich quick, or in a panic due to market corrections.

The core model portfolio we teach in the PI Course rarely changes, but is highly diversified in thousands of shares around the world… so there is higher long term profits, less stress and greater safety.

The portfolio consists of 19 country ETFs.  During the four years since we created the Purposeful Investing Course and set up a $40,000 real time portfolio at Motif Brokers, we have held the same 19 shares and have only traded three times.

The portfolio started with $40,000 and has risen to $53,591 ($49,015 in shares and the balance in accumulated cash).

The portfolio did really well from 2015 to 2018, better than the DJI Index.  Then as the US dollar grew in strength it fell behind.

The chart below shows the actual results of thos portfolio compared with the S&P 500.

motif

This good value portfolio above is based entirely on good value financial information and mathematically based safety programs developed around investing models that date back 91 and 24 years.

The Pifolio is a theoretical portfolio of MSCI Country Benchmark Index ETFs that cover all the good value markets developed combining my 50 years of investing experience with study of the mathematical market value analysis of Keppler Asset Management.

In my opinion, Keppler is one of the best market statisticians in the world.  Numerous very large fund managers, such as State Street Global Advisers, use his analysis to manage over $2.5 billion of funds.

The Pifolio analysis begins with Keppler who continually researches international major stock markets and compares their value based on current book to price, cash flow to price, earnings to price, average dividend yield, return on equity and cash flow return.  He compares each major stock market’s history.

Fwd: keppler

Michael Kepler CEO Keppler Asset Management.

Michael is a brilliant mathematician.  We have tracked his analysis for over 20 years.   He continually researches international major stock markets and compares their value based on current book to price, cash flow to price, earnings to price, average dividend yield, return on equity and cash flow return.  He compares each stock market’s history.  From this, he develops his Good Value Stock Market Strategy and rates each market as a Buy, Neutral or Sell market.  His analysis is rational, mathematical and does not cause worry about short term ups and downs.  Keppler’s strategy is to diversify into an equally weighted portfolio of the MSCI Indices of each BUY market.

This is an easy, simple and effective approach to zeroing in on value because little time, management and guesswork is required.  You are investing in a diversified portfolio of good value indices.

A BUY rating for an index does NOT imply that any stock in that country is an attractive investment, so you do not have to spend hours of research aimed at picking specific shares.  It is not appropriate or enough to instruct a stockbroker to simply select stocks in the BUY rated countries.  Investing in the index is like investing in all the shares in the index.  You save time because all you have to do is invest in the ETF to gain the profit potential of the entire market.

To achieve this goal of diversification the Pifolio consists of Country Index ETFs.

Country Index ETFs are similar to an index mutual fund but are shares normally traded on a major stock exchange that tracks an index of shares in a specific country.  ETFs do not try to beat the index they represent.  The management is passive and tries to emulate the performance of the index.

A country ETF provides diversification into a basket of equities in the country covered.  The expense ratios for most ETFs are lower than those of the average mutual fund as well so such ETFs provide diversification and cost efficiency.

Here is the Pifolio I personally use.

70% is diversified into Keppler’s good value (BUY rated) developed markets: Australia, Austria, France, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Norway, Spain, Singapore and the United Kingdom.

30% of the Pifolio is invested in Keppler’s good value (BUY rated) emerging markets: Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, the Czech Republic, South Korea, Malaysia and Taiwan.

The Pifolio consists of iShares ETFs that invested in each of the MSCI indicies of theseall good value BUY markets.

For example, the iShares MSCI Australia (symbol EWA) is a Country Index ETF that tracks the investment results the Morgan Stanley Capital Index MSCI Australia Index which is composed mainly of large cap and small cap stocks traded primarily on the Australian Stock Exchange mainly of companies in consumer staples, financials and materials. This ETF is non-diversified outside of Australia.

iShares is owned by Black Rock, Inc. the world’s largest asset manager with over $4 trillion in assets under management.

The fact that the Pifilios are invested in all the shares of the MSCI Index in each good value market reduces long term risk.

When the US stock market bull ends, know one knows for sure how long or how severe the correction will be.

When the bear arrives, what will happen to global and especially good value markets?

No  one knows the answer to this question.

What we do know is that the equally weighted, good value market Pifolios have the greatest potential long term and that math based trailing stops can be used to protect against a secular global stock market correction when it comes.

My fifty years of global investing experience helps take advantage of numerous long term cycles that are part of the universal math that affects all investments.

You also receive two special reports.

I did well then, but always thought, “I should have invested more!”  Now those circumstances have come together and I am investing in them again.

The circumstances that created fortunes 30 years ago were an overvalued US market (compared to global markets) and an overvalued US dollar.  The two conditions are in place again!

30 years ago, the US dollar rose along with Wall Street.

The trends are so clear that I have created a short, but powerful report “Three Currency Patterns for 50% Profits or More.”   This report shows how to earn an extra 50% from currency shifts with even small investments.

This report sells for $29.95 but in this special offer, you receive the report, “Three Currency Patterns for 50% Profits or More” FREE when you subscribe to Pi.

Plus get the $39.95 report “The Silver Dip” free.

With investors watching global stock markets bounce up and down, many missed two really important profit generating events over the last two years.  The price of silver dipped below $14 an ounce as did shares of the iShares Silver ETF (SLV).   The second event is that the silver gold ratio hit 80, compared to a ratio of 230 only two years before.

In September 2015, I prepared a special report “Silver Dip 2015” about a silver speculation, leveraged with a British pound loan, that could increase the returns in a safe portfolio by as much as eight times.  The tactics described in that report generated 62.48% profit in just nine months.

I have updated this report and “Silver Dip” report shares the latest in a series of long term lessons gained through 40 years of speculating and investing in precious metals.  I released the 2015 report, when the gold silver ratio slipped to 80.  The ratio has corrected and that profit has been taken and now a new precious metals dip has emerged.

I have prepared a new special report “Silver Dip” about a leveraged speculation that can increase the returns in a safe portfolio by as much as eight times.
