This is a wonderful property to live in or to rent and can be rented direct or rented for the owner by the hotel.
Here is another view from the balcony.
There is a great ocean breeze and view from every room.
Here you can see the view from the living room… this is the old furnishing. This is the view from the living area.

Though the rooms are air conditioned, you may prefer to leave the doors open and slumber to the surf’s lullaby.
Finally the rooftop garden is wonderful and has an even expanded picture of the Pacific.
There are still really low prices on Ecuador’s coast… incredible value to our way of thinking.
This is an ideal place to stay if you want to travel the coast and get to know this stretch of Ecuador’s coast from Manta to Canoa where a great deal of the beach expansion is now taking place. You can see below how tiny San Clemente is ideally placed between Manta and Canoa.
You can dine in the clubhouse overlooking Ecuador’s wonderful Pacific coast.
Dinner here is special too. You can visit this Ecuadorian fisherman when he brings in his fresh Pacific catch each day back to the hotel….where you can choose your meal. Few Ecuadorian coastal hotels offer this service. Wonderful Pacific fish, crabs and shrimp that are huge…like this….cooked at the hotel minutes after they are brought off the boat.
Or stroll into nearby Ecuadorian coastal town of San Clemente for dinner or lunch. The penthouse gives you miles of empty beach.
Here we look to the left .
And the right…more quiet Ecuadorian beach.
Let me hasten to add San Clemente is NOT for those who want a bustling city.
However Palmazul is where the action is in San Clemente… a first class boutique hotel.
San Clemente is a charming rustic, coastal village, 45 minutes north of the port city of Manta , almost exactly in the middle of Ecuador ’s coast.
This property is especially unique because…
The village is quite and leads to dead end road that serves…
this strip of the Pacific. The road runs only a mile or so and has speed bumps. The penthouse is on the beach and the mountain is behind so no one can build. No big project can come in a create a lot of noise.
Palmazul is perfectly located on a dead end road..enjoying proximity to town yet quiet as there is no through traffic. Transportation is also easy and fun…small motorcycles with a seat!
San Clemente is a perfect starting point for exploring Ecuador ’s coast…in the middle so you can reach the north or south of the coast in a hurry.
Yet in San Clemente, the days are full. You are welcome to join the local fishermen who ride this surf out for the day.
Fish from the jetties, stroll the beach, travel the coast, hike, horse ride, play tennis or just relax around the pool or on the beach.
Of course you can also work. Palmazul offers free wireless broadband for your laptop. Enjoy the peace and quiet of Ecuador ’s coast, but always stay in touch electronically with the rest of the world.
Your penthouse has the immediate sea view and private balcony so your comfort does not end when the sun sets. As dusk arrives so does the seas breeze… fresh into your room.
Cozy in your bed.
This is an ideal place to live if you want a quiet place but with hotel service and a rental opportunity when you are away.
Price $89,000.

We toured the hotel and must admit that we were quite impressed with the renovation. There is a new kitchen. The old kitchen has been added to the dining room area which makes it very nice. There is new furniture, an infinity pool, new decking and new outside furniture, new bar.
All the rooms have been renovated with A/C, new wood trimmings; updated bathrooms. There is also a new paved parking lot, new entrance and showers when you come from the beach at the back entrance.
They have invested a bunch of money and also made more rooms available by transforming the 3rd floor apartment into three more rooms.

Beautiful modernly designed zen style house on one of the best beaches in Ecuador in San Clemente. The house is situated right in front of the ocean. The propriety is 1300 sq feet on a 3000 sq feet lot.
The house was designed to get the maximum light possible. In fact, the front of the house is all from floor to the ceiling windows and have also four skylights. The house was rebuilt from ground up with open spaces and with a big patio. The house is situated in the quietest part of the city, no discotheque, no noise, just the beach.

The global economy is on the downside of its bell curve. When looked at from a universal perspective… the world today is amazingly rich. Mankind has achieved incredible material progress in the last 100 years or so. History shows that a huge jump in wealth or any grand expansion is always followed by a contraction. That’s the universal way… a big bang that expands, then collapses to one point, before expanding again.
Such a global view is nice… but when inflation is cutting into the purchasing power of everything you do… more local visions are required and there are numerous ways to maintain your lifestyle on a fixed budget.
One avenue for beach lovers is to live on Ecuador’s Pacific. The weather is really very good. There are no hurricanes and prices are still amazingly low as this San Clemente house for sale shows.
Bahia, and the surrounding areas including San Clemente, are is in my opinion, the nicest areas and with the greatest potential on Ecuador coast. After driving up and down… top to bottom… of Ecuador’s Pacific Coast many times, Merri’s and my choice for a beach house was San Clemente which is only about 30 minutes to the International airport at Manta and 30 minutes to Bahia.
About 15 years years ago, Merri and I drove almost the entire length of Ecuador’s coast with our Norwegian friend, Kjetil Haugan. This trip included a visit to San Clemente which is a tiny fishing village on the Ecuadorian Pacific.
We saw then that San Clemente offered special value for Ecuadorian beach real estate. This was one of Ecuador’s best beaches, but just 30 minutes north of Manta and only a half hour to Bahia, Ecuador.
Here is the San Clemente beach.
We conducted real estate tours and urged readers to buy Ecuador beach property around Manta back then. Land especially around Manta, appreciated as much as 1,000% in a decade. Many of our readers and real estate tour delegates of a decade ago purchased ocean view house lots at $2,500. These same lots as resales are now selling at $17,500, yet Ecuador beach property is still the least expensive I have seen anywhere one would want to live.
Many Ecuador coastal properties are popping up now but most developers are buying land to develop…at current, much higher prices.
San Clemente is catching on and many of our readers now live here. One reader who has enjoyed being on the beach in San Clemente is moving to Cuenca because his son, who has been home schooled, is ready for university.
This means he wants a quick sale and as you will see below has offered a remarkable price for this house that is right on the beach.

See San Clemente on the next Ecuador Mid Coast Beach Tour
The map below shows why San Clemente (marked with A), which is just a bit south of Bahia, was the first place on the coast where I bought Ecuador beach real estate.
San Clemente is a small village almost equidistant to the two airport access points on Ecuador’s coast, Manta and Bahia, plus it is on the coastal highway just before it veers inland behind a strip of low lying hills.
These hills run along the coast from San Clemente to Bahia and further north separating the highway from the beach, discouraging over development and encouraging quiet hidden beach opportunities.
In addition San Clemente is almost equidistant to Quito and Guayaquil, the two largest population centers, and is accessed by major roads also shown on this map. This creates holiday opportunity for the big city folk.
San Clemente is itself a tiny… dusty village so the attraction here is peace and quiet. This is what Merri and I love.
However, those who want to live in a lively town will do better living just a bit further north in or closer to Bahia.
Our Ecuador beach penthouse is at Vistazul. This community is nicely protected by those hills.
Vistazul is right on the beach and protected by these low lying Manabi hills behind.
Here is the view from our penthouse so you can see…
why we love it there.
Now Vistazul is about to get even better.
The developer of this project, Kjetil Haugan, recently sent me this note.
Gary, This email is to inform you that we will close the hotel from next week on and until late June for renovation. We will change the location of the kitchen, increase the capacity of the restaurant, redo the swimming pool (partly infinity pool), put A/C in all rooms, put in new beds and mosquito nets, fix all the sliding doors/windows, put in concrete walls around the hotel, fix the gardens, make more family suites, paint the hotel and change and redo everything from the dining tables, to the outdoor furniture. Most of this will be done during these 6 to 7 weeks but the rooms will be done throughout the year.
We will also start to sell club memberships to local people with a point system plus offer this to the ex pats living in Cuenca.
We are adding new administrators at the hotel; Edwin and his Canadian wife, Cris. They used to run our yacht operation in the Galapagos. She will also help out at Vistazul being the contact person for the residents and helping out with decoration, purchase of furniture and rental management.
So hopefully you will have time to come down to San Clemente later this year to discover the new Palmazul!
Vistazul is also doing well right now. The electricity work, water plant and gardening should all be ready by the end of May. Then I will help the residents start to form the HOA. I have also contracted all the doors/windows so the remaining units will be completed within 4 to 6 months depending on the workers.
I had a lot of interest in the one level units and we continue to offer finance. Regards, Kjetil
For answers to specific questions contact, Kjetil Haugan, at kjetil@haugancruises.com
This is an exciting evolution for the smal community and remains a great bargain… the $79,000 price includes club membership which includes use of all the improved facilities.
Hostal for Sale
Many readers ask for Ecuador real estate listing on hotels, hostals and B&Bs. One small hostel near San Clemente is now for sale.
Our belief in Ecuador, as a place to live and invest, comes in part because of its position in the seventh wave of the industrial revolution.
We conducted our International Investing & Business Course last weekend here at the Jefferson Lansing Golf resort clubhouse.
We reviewed cycles and seasons… how Ecuador opportunity and business in Ecuador really pick up at about this time of the year. Ecuador’s up season is coming up.
Seasonality is a really important factor of investing to keep in mind… especially right now… as we will see below.
First, in that course we looked at the Asset Allocation of my portfolio and…
Ecuador Property 15% US Property 46% Total Real Estate 61% Equities 3% Emerging Bonds 9% Bonds 14% Cash 13% Total Liquid 39%
Why I have so little in the stock market now is due to cycles, seasonality and personal values.
Regarding seasonality, October is the bewitching month of shares.
We viewed how, since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, the western economy has been moving through fifteen-year upward and downward cycles. We saw how we are in the tenth year of a potentially 15 year downward wave.
Since the 1800s the stock market has moved in 30 year waves, peaking in bubbles and ending in troughs. Technology, warfare and politics are all related to these cycles. The phrase that coined this great social economic transformation we call the “Industrial Revolution,” according to historian David Landes, was first in a letter of 1799 written by French envoy Louis-Guillaume Otto.
Since that time mankind has enjoyed ten boom cycles… each created by new technology. Each boom has been followed by a bust… a bear market… a down wave that lasts about 15 years…. for 310 years.
So it is appropriate that in information era up wave (the dotcom bubble) the Dow topped at 10,336 and then crashed Oct 1, 1999… 300 years after the first revolution began.
Here is a chart of the Dow in that 10th upward period from www.finance.yahoo.com.
That crash began the current 15 year side ways model that marks the downward cycle. The peaks and valleys, consistent with the downward wave has slaughtered many investors which, I explained at the course, is why I have so few equities now.
Seasonality is why I am not buying equities in October as well.
We viewed how seasonality was at work. Over 30 years the Dow has grown 8.16% overall but all of that growth and more (8.36% per annum average) has come in the months of November through April. The average annual growth per annum over thirty years in May to October is only 0.37%.
In other words… October is a volatile month for shares. In fact the worst days of the US stock market have been in October.
Black Thursday was October 24th in 1929. During that frenetic day nearly 13 million shares changed hands, nearly four times the norm. Black Tuesday was October 29, 1929. The market was slashed again leaving the Dow 40% down in that week.
Black Monday was October 19, 1987, global equity markets crashed, starting in Hong Kong. Panic rushed to Europe and then knocked the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) down 22.61%, its largest one day drop ever.
In short the good equity growth season is about to begin.
Market timing is never more important than the search for value… but it sure can help the search for value.
Seasonality studies give support to the current bear market recovery but suggest the support is best after October.
Plus watch out for a severe October market correction!
Thomas Fischer from Jyske Global Asset Management was with us and pointed out that JGAM’s low risk portfolios have a very underweight position in equities as well.
During the course we also looked at the importance of personal values in investing by enjoying the process.
We saw some great autumnal beauty…
in the Blue Ridge during the course. We walked some glorious paths.
Yet this is an El Nino year… a cold winter is predicted. A long one maybe.
Excerpts from a 19 August 2009 UN New Center article entitled “El Niño weather pattern likely to continue into 2010, explains why: The United Nations agency dealing with weather, climate and water says an El Niño event has begun in the tropical Pacific and is likely to continue into early 2010.
El Niño and La Niña bring significant temperature fluctuations in surface waters of the tropical belt of the Pacific Ocean: an El Niño event sees a rise in temperatures and La Niña witnesses a drop in normal temperatures.
These temperature changes are strongly linked to major climate fluctuations around the world, especially in Latin America, Australia and East Asia, which can last for a whole year or more. Both El Niño and La Niña can disrupt the normal weather patterns and have widespread impacts on climate in many parts of the world.
The UN World Meteorological Organization (WMO) said today that sea-surface temperatures in the eastern equatorial Pacific had risen to between 0.5 and 1 degree Celsius warmer than normal by the end of June, with similar temperatures in July.
“Scientific assessments of these observations indicate that this warming resembles the early stages of an El Niño event,” the Geneva-based agency stated in a news release.
In its most recent update on the subject, WMO stated that the expectation is for El Niño conditions to very likely prevail through the remainder of 2009 and into the first quarter of 2010.
Last year our autumn paths in October turned…
to this in November.
Here was the weather report yesterday Oct.14 2009 at Asheweather.com. Rainy, cold, and raw about sums it up for today. High temperatures for the day were early this morning; We’ll slip into the lower 40s for the rest of the daytime as rather steady rain continues. Watch out for thick, dangerous fog along the Blue Ridge today through much of Thursday. And yeah, we weren’t kidding about that weekend snow shower thing. Gory details below.
Here are some weather statistics for our area that suggest what happens in Southwest Virginia and Northwest North Carolina (where we are in the Blue Ridge) during an El Nino year.
Roanoke’s snowiest month on record was January 1966, with more than 41 inches. That was during an El Nino.
Roanoke’s coldest winter on record was that of 1977-78, which also had more than 37 inches of snow. That was during an El Nino.
Roanoke got 19 inches of snow on Feb. 10 and 11, 1983. That was during an El Nino.
Roanoke’s snowiest year of the 1950s (1957-58), second snowiest of the 1990s (1992-93) and snowiest of the 2000s (2002-03) each in the 28-to-30-inch range occurred during El Ninos.
Long term patterns in weather or stock markets are no guarantees… but by looking at the odds wouldn’t you rather invest in equities at a time that historically has shown the highest appreciation year after year. And though snow and cold are not guaranteed up north, wouldn’t you rather have this in the dead of winter (Mt Imbabura) or…
this?

Ecuador beach retirement? Retire in Ecuador in the cool Andes? Or just live in Ecuadorian the mountains or on the sea? The best way to know is to visit and see Ecuador for more than a few days.
This is why we have created a Retire-in-Ecuador inspection Surf & Turf Hotel program so you can live a month in the Andean mountains and on the Ecuador’s coast at prices far below rates you would normally pay.
The Retire-in-Ecuador program is designed to help you see a huge chunk of Ecuador as you immerse yourself in the wonderful culture and get to know Ecuador’s friendly people.
There is a secret to the program. You inspections are centered around two seemingly isolated… yet central locations to help you see as much of the country in a most efficient way.
These locations are Cotacachi… north of Quito and San Clemente… north of Manta.
Surf & Turf lets you stay at Meson de Las Flores and Palmazul two of our favorite small hotels in Ecuador.
Welcome to Meson de las Flores… our colonial hotel.
Meson is in Cotacachi and near Otavalo. This area offers the essence of Andean friendliness and colonial charm. Breakfasts are included in your plan and served in this open air, central courtyard where our friendly staff helps you dine Al Fresco in the clean mountain air.
Or you can dine in the mural room.
Meson is located directly off Cotacachi’s main plaza and next to the village cathedral and Plaza. Here is a view from Meson of the cathedral at dawn.
From the minute you enter the hotel, you feel its history…
yet the rooms have all been renovated for your complete comfort.
Enjoy the company of Meson guests during evenings in the fireplace room for an evening snack, drink and a blazing fire to ward of the cool mountain air.
Cotacachi is perfectly located so you have access to Quito, Otavalo and Ibarra and surrounds. This is one of the major areas where new residents are moving.
Our normal surf and turf plan provides you with two weeks stay here at Meson de las Flores. Then you head for Ecuador’s coast.
Palmazul Hotel & Spa is north of Manta, the central hub for reaching Ecuador’s beaches. Palmazul is a new hotel right on the beach. Here I am working in the beach view dining room where your breakfast (also included) is served.
Both hotels Meson and Palmazul have just 15 rooms to assure privacy and personal attention.
You enjoy special savings on these hotel accommodations for two weeks in the mountains and two weeks on the sea.
This Ecuador Hometel plan cuts your hotel costs in half and makes these wonderful hotels your home.
Please check with us for space availability before you book. Contact us at mesondelasflores@gmail.com
Ecuador Coastal Hotels Savings are now available at Palmazul Coastal Hotel Spa, one of the newest Ecuador beach hotels.
Palmazul sits directly on Ecuador’s beach and is offering an Ecuador coastal Hometel program so you can have a home away from home on Ecuador’s beach…live in luxury on the Ecuador sea at very low cost for a month (or longer) at a time.
Palmazul becomes your home for an Ecuadorian coastal adventure on the Pacific.
This is your Ecuador coastal swimming pool and tennis court…really on the beach…overlooking the Ecuadorian Pacific.
This is your Ecuador coastal swimming pool and tennis court…really on the beach…overlooking the Ecuadorian sea.
Here are some snapshots of the Palmazul Coastal Hotel and Spa and next door Vistazul condos. You’l stay either in the hotel or in a two bedroom condo based on availability… but everyone is entitled to use the club house, dining rooms, pools, tennis courts, spa and beach.
The monthly price includes a wonderful served breakfast from this dining room overlooking Ecuador’s wonderful Pacific coast.
Dinner here is special too. You can visit this Ecuadorian fisherman when he brings in his fresh Pacific catch each day back to the hotel….where you can choose your meal. Few Ecuadorian coastal hotels offer this service.
San Clemente is a charming rustic coastal village, 45 minutes north of the port city of Manta, almost exactly in the middle of Ecuador ’s coast. Bahia, Ecuador’s nicest coastal town is 30 minutes north. Palmazul is perfectly located on a small road that ends just a short distance away into a cliff thus enabling you to enjoy proximity to town yet it is quiet as there is no through traffic. Transportation is also easy and fun…small jitneys everywhere!
San Clemente is a perfect starting point for exploring Ecuador ’s coast…in the middle of Ecuador beaches so you can reach the north or south of the coast in a day.
Yet in San Clemente, the days are full.

Here are some multi currency ideas about financial fat that we’ll focus on at the May 29 to 31 JGAM Florida Investment Seminar.
Here is an excerpt from our next multi currency lesson that we’ll focus on at the JGAM Florida investment course.
These are confusing times for many investors, but a bit of simple logic can help clear away the fog… because life…and hence economics… up and down… is orderly.
We cannot always predict the exact position of this order in what appears to be disorder… but we can understand the nature of order and make assumptions that are reasonably certain.
James Gleick, a science reporter for The New York Times, wrote about this in his book “Chaos”. He used weather, stock market and fluid dynamics forecasting as examples of understanding the orderliness in chaos.
The weather, he wrote, is created by the earth’s atmosphere, which consists of familiar simple gases and water vapor, is nothing but a complicated mechanical system of a kind that should be calculable by the familiar rules of mechanics, he wrote. Knowing its state at one instant – say now – it should be possible to calculate its condition at some future instant – say in 10 minutes or even 10 years.
Yet such predictions elude mankind. Numerical weather forecasting is valuable but meteorologists can hardly hope to do better than a 10- or 14-day forecast by computer.
We never know what will happen with the mountain weather here in Cotacachi for example. These photos taken from our condo show that some times the mountain is clear.
Then moments later it disappears behind clouds… nobody knows.
The innumerable weather patterns created by mountain meeting air defy exact prediction. However the assumption created by this sunrise over the mountain is…
Red in the morning, shepherds take warning.
Gleick calls the answer the paradox of the butterfly’s wings that says there is an infinity of potential weather that is beyond Man’s ability to measure.
Really small differences in the starting points of mechanical systems can lead to huge differences in their conditions some time later. Nobody can be sure that a butterfly somewhere does not cause a disturbance of the atmosphere that when magnified with the passage of time becomes a hurricane somewhere else.
This leads us to fractals, which are the small parts… the starting points of systems such as an economy, stock or currency market.
Ours is a fractal universe… fractal world… with fractal manifestations reated by fractal molecules.
The late Michael Crichton’s book “Jurassic Park”, explains this when one of the heroes says: “Fractals are everything!” – meaning that all of the creation, from macrocosmic scale down to quarks follows the same rule of organization. A rock resembles larger pieces of rock in its structure and form, and ultimately it looks pretty much like the mountain that it is forming.”
Every part of existence… and hence all economies are built of smaller and smaller and smaller, but similar parts. Hence the saying, “as above.. so below.”
So an economy built by fat sick people… living in a fat sick society will tend to be a fat, sick economy.
This allows us to make some assumptions… that… we can be fairly certain of.
Nature abhors a vacuum. Thus nature abhors too much fat. Nature is efficient and stores energy everywhere. If there is too much energy in one place (fat is just stored energy) and not enough in another… there will be an energy exchange. We see this all the time… wind… lightening… flood… heart attack.
If nature abhors a vacuum it means that nature abhors excess as well.
So, when an economy gets too rich… when a person becomes overweight… when the atmosphere fills with water vapor. Everything slows down… there is resistance… there is vulnerability. There will be change that equalizes the situation.
We watch this on the coast where the ocean (instead of the mountains) meets the air. One moment our beach will be hot and crystal clear.
This is a guarantee that clouds will soon appear and most of the sunbathers will disappear!
Yet when the rain comes exactly.. we cannot predict exactly. However a common wisdom is correct here also. The fishermen will be ready when they see this sunset shot I took at our Vistaazul condos because…
Red at night… sailors delight! Here they go… next morning heading with confidence to sea.
One investment manager I know states this common wisdom simply by saying, Periods of high performance are always followed by periods of low performance.
Because the Western mindset is dominated by a linear rising view… the Western economic model runs on rising expectations. The entire economic revolution that started late 1700s has been fueled by expectations of better lives ahead. Farmers moved to factories and sweatshops. They saved, educated their children who expected even more from value added careers. Nation after nation grew better. giving the less attractive lifestyles to poorer countries.
Yet a liner upwards continuum is not nature’s way. High performance is the result of low performance. Life is an up and down process so the false expectations of humanity leads society to place demands on elected leaders to violate the laws of nature… to add layer after layer of fat.
Humans can delay some universal forces changing the timing but not the overall results. For example the chart of the Dollar adjusted Dow below which I refer to often shows 1998 was a year when markets should have had an economic correction.
1920 to 1945 was one cycle. Over exuberance(too much fat) in the 20s led to a mid cycle crash. 1945 to 1968 was the next. This cycle ended in the early 1970s when Western countries experienced an economic recession. This was blamed on oil embargoes. The reality was it was time for an economic fast. The next cycle that began after the 1970s recession should have ended with a downturn around 1998.
Yet societies propelled by expectations of upwards only lowered interest rates and took steps to create a real estate boom…pushing up paper prices and creating the illusion of greater wealth… a bubble… that took a 10 years to bust.
We are now paying the price of that ten year extension.
This downturn differs from the correction of 1932. That correction took place when the economy should have been on the rise. The correction came just because the upside rose way too fast.
This correction may be less harsh because it is simply the downside catching up. The economy may now be below where it should have been had the correction not be delayed.
We may well be near the bottom. Sell now ad you may miss the recovery plus you’ll sell when spreads are high thus losing even more.
Instead seek value in sales short term bonds in strong currencies. Here is what to look for.

In the shamanic mingo you will learn how the concept of fractals is part of the ancient sacred geometry that leads us to where we should be. The shamans belive that the mountain we grow up viewing is our mother (Pacha Mama) who guides us on our life’s way.
This never made much sense to me until visiting our daughter, son in law, grandkids and my 86 year old mother.
Each day I walked out my mom’s front door (she has lived in the same house for 50 years) and enjoyed the view where I grew up.
Mt. Hood…Pancha Mama. Something was gnawing at me…where had she led me? I missed the connection.
The equivalent geometry at Mt, Cotacachi that I now see each day from my Cotacachi front door.
This did not hit me until we took mom to our favorite beach…our historical escape on Oregon’s coast. This shot as I looked down the beach made me think about this more.
Because the geometry is so like our beach escape in San Clemente, Ecuador.
Ecuador beach hotel savings just improved at Palmazul Coastal Hotel Spa, one of the newest Ecuador beach hotels.
Palmazul sits directly on Ecuador’s beach and is offering an Ecuador coastal Hometel program so you can have a home away from home on Ecuador’s beach…live in luxury on the Ecuador sea at very low cost for a week, month…or longer at a time.
Palmazul becomes your home for an Ecuadorian coastal adventure on the Pacific.
This is your Ecuador coastal swimming pool and tennis court…really on the beach…overlooking the Ecuadorian sea.
This empty Ecuador beach, is your front yard at this Ecuadorian coastal hotel.
Here are some snapshots of the Palmazul Coastal Hotel and Spa. We are working with owners Kjetil and Jessica Haugan so you can stay in this new modern spa hotel at an extra low rate of monthly rate of $1,499 (less than half the normal daily rate). ($1,599 for a couple)
Why is this Ecuador beach hotel savings now better?
Merri and I, plus friends, each purchased a large, two room suite with kitchenette on the third floor of the hotel. These units have huge balconies and are so new that the pictures below were taken before the units were furnished. You can stay in these units (when available) so you have more space then in a normal hotel room.
The sunset is wonderful from these units.
The kitchenette allows you to prepare your own meals.
These are large, two room units with extra balconies off both the living room and king size bedrooms.
The very low, monthly or weekly rent includes a wonderful served breakfast from this dining room overlooking Ecuador’s wonderful Pacific coast.
Dinner here is special too. You visit this Ecuadorian fisherman when he brings in his fresh Pacific catch each day back to the hotel….where you canchoose your meal. Few Ecuadorian coastal hotels offer this service.
Wonderful Pacific fish, crabs and shrimp that are huge…like this….cooked at the hotel minutes after they are brought off the boat.
Or stroll into nearby Ecuadorian coastal town of San Clemente where the hotel is located for dinner or lunch as we often do. The many Ecuadorian coastal seafood cafes on or near the beach. like this one…
serve seafood… a full meal, Ceviche, fried, or grilled for $3.50 to $5.50.
A short walk back to Palmazul Coastal Hotel & Spa gives you miles of empty beach.
San Clemente is a charming rustic, coastal village, 45 minutes north of the port city of Manta, almost exactly in the middle of Ecuador ’s coast. Bahia, Ecuador’s nicest coastal town is 30 minutes north. Palmazul is perfectly located on a dead end road..enjoying proximity to town yet it is quiet as there is no through traffic. Transportation is also easy and fun…small motorcycles with a seat!
San Clemente is a perfect starting point for exploring Ecuador ’s coast…in the middle so you can reach the north or south of the coast in a day.
Yet in San Clemente, the days are full.
The spa also has a treatment room where you can enjoy a massage.
Your room will have a view and private balcony so your comfort does not end when the sun sets.
As dusk arrives so does the seas breeze…fresh into your room.
Cozy in your bed…
