Ecuador Imports

Learn about Ecuador Imports and much… much more.

Many of our readers are looking for Ecuador export information.  Anyone planning to visit Ecuador to find exports gain extra potential if they take Ecuador import ideas down when they go.

Ecuador-imports

Groves, near ours, in Florida,  New ideas in agriculture create…

Ecuador-imports

new Ecuador import opportunities… plus more. Here are tangelos at our orange grove in Smalltown USA.

In a moment I’ll share three new ideas about Ecuador import potential plus opportunity in Smalltown USA and why investments in agriculture look even better to me now as a hedge against inflation.

First, as we approach Christmas and the New Year let me say that these are really exciting times… so much change… so much opportunity.  Without this change… those who have little would not be able to find ways to create a lot!

Change gives the little guy a chance to break barriers because the big guys are never flexible and innovative enough.   The big guys want to hold onto the old ways.  The little guys secret weapon?  New ideas… new solutions to new problems.

This message is about taking advantage of change and new ideas at an early stage.

Technology creates new problems for mankind as it brings humanity wonderful things… but also offers new solutions to the new problems as well.

For example oil, electricity and the automobile have provided quite the new opportunities over the last eighty years.  These innovations made the Fords, Firestones, Edisons and so many others rich.

The new problems? Pollution in many ways.

A new solution?  Renewable biofuels that do not eat up the food supply.

This is why I found the Time magazine article “Biofuel Test Flight: – 30 December” so exciting.

Here is an excerpt:  The world’s first commercial aviation test flight powered by the sustainable second-generation biofuel jatropha has been successfully completed in Auckland.  More than a dozen key performance tests were undertaken in the two hour test flight which took-off at 11:30am (NZ time) on Tuesday 30 December from Auckland International Airport.  A biofuel blend of 50:50 jatropha and Jet A1 fuel was used to power one of the Air New Zealand Boeing 747-400’s Rolls-Royce RB211 engines.

At 1.30pm, Pilot in Command Captain Keith Pattie and Air New Zealand Chief Pilot Captain David Morgan stepped off the aircraft back at Auckland International Airport and informed invited guests about the outcomes of the flight.

“We undertook a range of tests on the ground and in-flight with the jatropha biofuel performing well through both the fuel system and engine, just as laboratory tests indicated it would,” said Mr Morgan.

My enthusiasm grew further when I discovered that Jatropha grows exceptionally well in Smalltown USA Florida… very near where I have started buying agricultural land.

The Times article “Going Green – The Next Big Biofuel?” by Tim Padgett says:

A Boeing 747 was recently test-flown using a 50-50 blend of jatropha and jet fuel.  Renewable energy, it turns out, does grow on trees. The fruit pods plucked from jatropha trees have seeds that produce clean-burning diesel fuel. But unlike corn and other biofuel sources, the Jatropha doesn’t have to compete with food crops for arable land. Even in the worst of soils, it grows like weeds. Sound too good to be true? That’s why brothers Paul and Mark Dalton chose to name their Florida jatropha company My Dream Fuel.

The article points out that jatropha, like algae, does not divert food from hungry mouths. It says that India has set aside 100 million acres for Jatropha and expects the oil to account for 20% of its diesel consumption by 2011.

Ecuador-imports

This is Ecuador agricultural land in the Andes near Cotacachi.  Ecuador has rich soil and sun 365 days a year.  See how this creates an Ecuador import agricultural idea below.

The Daltons have planted nearly a million Jatropha tress near Fort Myers, Florida and they thrive so well it is believed they may yield up to eight times as much oil as they do in places like India and Africa. That translates into as much as 1,600 gal. of diesel fuel per acre per year, vs. 200 gal. for stocks that grow in the wild.

Fuel from Jatropha emits negligible greenhouse gases, and the trees can capture four tons of carbon dioxide per acre (which might make growers eligible for carbon credits on the global market).

Jatropha isn’t the only new bio fuel idea.   A  November 2009 Greenwire article “KLM Carries Passengers in Biofuel Test Flight”  by Katie Howell says:  KLM Royal Dutch Airlines today successfully demonstrated the use of renewable jet fuel on the first test flight to carry passengers.

The KLM demonstration is the fifth biofuel-blend test flight in the past two years. Like previous flights by Continental Airlines, Air New Zealand and Japan Airlines, the KLM test used renewable jet fuel developed by UOP, a subsidiary of Honeywell International Inc.

The flight was powered by a blend of 50 percent traditional kerosene and 50 percent biofuel derived from camelina running in one engine of a Boeing 747.

The aviation industry has rallied behind development of drop-in replacement jet fuel derived from plants that provide high energy content, are not eaten as food and do not displace food crops. A report released this summer detailing results of the Continental, Air New Zealand and Japan Airlines tests said the biofuel blends were more efficient than typical jet fuels (E&ENews PM, June 17).

Here are three ideas that may offer enormous profit in years ahead.

New Profit Idea #1: Check out shares in Honeywell International Inc. and UOP.

New Profit Idea #2: Check out buying low cost agricultural land in Ecuador or Smalltown USA  where you can grow biofuel plants like Jatropha or Camelina.

New Profit Idea #3: This is an Ecuador import idea. Import the idea of Jatropha or Camelina to Ecuador. Buy low cost agricultural land there and export the product from Ecuador.

Ecuador-imports

Ecuador has the same bio diversity as land from the equator to the arctic circle… so anything gos and grows!

See three more new profit ideas in tomorrow’s message “Ecuador Imports Part 2.”

Until then, Merri and I send our best wishes to you for happy… peaceful…. low stress holidays.  We’ll be here at this site sharing ideas with you every day including Christmas and New Year’s Day.

You may well wonder why I would make such an offer and ask why the cost is so low? Let me answer this question frankly and from the heart.

First, it helps us do a better job for you. We feel greatly enriched when we can really help our clients improve their lives. We have learned through years of experience the best way to do this is to meet with you regularly. We can best help you learn how to improve your health and wealth through continual expansion of knowledge.

Second, we gain enormous fulfillment from the many friendships we form through the years. Our friends have enriched our lives tremendously. Let me explain this in more detail.

As a member, you will be part of our international family that meets intensively over the next year to examine ways we can make our lives better. Our goal is beyond just having money. Our goal is to have quantum wealth… good health… wealth and fulfillment through service.

Though I give all course delegates my very best, I cannot help but to do a better job for those who come again and again. As we meet often; your particular wants, needs and desires become clear, and it is easier for me to point you in the right direction.

Another phenomenon is that repeat delegates help each other! They get to know one another, help each other learn, share their insights, make contacts and gain more wealth.

Out associates in Ecuador, are experienced business people who live or work and conduct our real estate and export courses.  They can also act as your local backup for the business.

Lifestyle for Two. There is more! I have learned at my courses that many repeat delegates were couples.

We want couples! As a member of the program, you are entitled to bring another person to every single course or tour. The cost for that extra person will be ZERO!  You can bring whomever you wish. Bring your spouse, a friend, son or daughter, partner, accountant, adviser. You can bring the same person each time or a different person, whomever you choose to accompany you. (Accommodations and air fares relating to the courses are not included for members, delegates or their guests.)

Won’t you join us in this exciting club and share Merri’s and my lifestyle for the next year? We look forward to seeing you at as many courses as possible and sharing this wonderful world of abundance and well being with you!

Ecuador Fares & Legal Tips

Here are some Ecuador fares & two legal tips learned from living and doing business abroad for 41 + years.

First, the facts on fares.

Ecuador air fare fact #1: Ecuador air fares are really low again. Ecuador air fares from Quito to Miami seem to rise and fall from under $400 to over $500. Right now LAN is offering the very low rate of $398.  Here is this low cost Miami-Quito air fare that LAN sent to Merri.

Ecuador-Air-Fare

Ecuador air fare fact #2. Ecuador is easy to reach.  The flight from Miami is about 3 hours and 45 minutes. There are direct flight from Miami on American, LAN and Aerogal… Atlanta (Delta) and… Houston (Continental).

Merri and I fly from Atlanta and it takes less time and costs less than our frequent flight to Portland, Oregon.

Ecuador fact #3. Ecuador is a great place to escape the cold weather at this time of year.  See Ecuador weather comparisons here.

You can look up fares at www.kayak.com and www.farecompare.com

See a two part report on getting Tickets to Ecuador here.

Ecuador is…

The people are…

cultures.

Yet Ecuador like all places also has its ways.

I began thinking about this when numerous readers wrote to me asking for an opinion about the arrest in Ecuador and extradition to the US of  an American naturopath who has been living in Ecuador.  Several newsletters and blogs have featured an article stating that this naturopath was kidnapped by the FDA.

I do not know the naturopath nor have I read anything else about this in the news so I contacted a friend who is an attorney and who has been involved in improving Ecuador’s law enforcement system.

The reply was:  Good morning Gary. I could not find any information about this in Ecuadorian newspapers. I will contact the chief of the police in Cuenca to learn firsthand the facts about this.  Warm regards.

I’ll report as soon as I hear more.

There are several issues readers asked.

The first issue about this arrest seems to be claims that the FDA committed a number of illegal acts in this process.   Readers have expressed shock about this.

They should not be surprised.

There have been crimes committed for years.  Our newsletters have focused on this a bit well before we started our website in the 1990s.  So this should not come as any great surprise.

Did this corruption begin in the 1980s?

I recall writing in the 1980s or 1990s about a report on IRS abuses.  That report outlined how the IRS hired a prostitute to distract a foreign banker in Miami. While the banker was busy with the woman, the IRS ignored normal procedure and helped themselves to a briefcase full of banking records.

We do not have to look far to see illegal actions.  A www.cnn.com article entitled “a 1998 Senate Panel Hears Stories Of Alleged IRS Abuses” says:  WASHINGTON (AllPolitics, April 28) — The Internal Revenue Service was once again under fire on Capitol Hill Tuesday, as a Senate committee launched another round of hearings, this time focusing on alleged abuses of power inside the tax agency.
In the first of four days of testimony from taxpayers and agents, the Senate Finance Committee heard instances of the IRS stepping over the line, including stories of retaliation against whistle blowers and raids on taxpayers’ homes that may not have been justified.

Some of the harshest criticism was aimed at the agency’s criminal investigation division, as witnesses complained that the investigators used excessive techniques and were out of control.

A New York Times article entitled “DIRECTOR OF I.R.S. ISSUES AN APOLOGY FOR AGENT ABUSES” says:  WASHINGTON, Sept. 25— The acting commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service issued an extraordinary public apology today to four individual taxpayers — and, by extension, to all American taxpayers — for severe mistreatment at the hands of agency officials. The tax official, Michael P. Dolan, also promised immediate changes to eliminate incentives for misconduct and make the I.R.S. more responsive to public complaints.

At the conclusion of three days of hearings on I.R.S. abuses before the Senate Finance Committee, Mr. Dolan said that he was deeply troubled by the charges leveled against the tax agency this week by taxpayers, current and former I.R.S. officials, and outside watchdogs.
Today’s session featured testimony from five current I.R.S. agents and one former agent, their identities concealed by fabric-covered screens and their voices electronically altered. Their testimony included the following accusations:

*Agency workers browse through tax returns to snoop into the finances of celebrities, relatives and prospective dates.

*I.R.S. agents are judged by their total tax collections, no matter how poorly documented.

*Managers cover up abusive behavior by collection agents.

*Revenue officers consider all tax debtors ”crooks or flakes” who deserve no sympathy.

Earlier in the week, in emotional testimony from four taxpayers, the panel heard from a retired priest who was wrongly assessed $18,000 in taxes from his mother’s estate and from a California woman who went through a 17-year nightmare with the agency that arose from a mix-up over her husband’s identity.

The hearings were the first formal oversight of the tax agency conducted by the Finance Committee, which has nominal supervisory authority over the I.R.S.

Mr. Dolan said that the agency had programs to prevent harassment of taxpayers and abusive collection efforts, but acknowledged that in the cases presented to the Senate, and perhaps in many others, internal controls had broken down.

”While each case was different, the end result is indisputable: We were wrong in the way that we handled many aspects of their cases,” Mr. Dolan said beneath bright television lights in the cavernous Finance Committee hearing room. ”I fully appreciate that an apology is little consolation when it comes at the end of the stress and obvious frustration these men and women have experienced. Nevertheless, I do apologize to each of them. They deserved far better treatment from the I.R.S. than they received.”

Did this corruption begin in the 1970s with Watergate perhaps?

Nah.  Harry Truman, considered by some to be the best US President was stained by corruption charges that lead to the firing or resignation of 166 lower level Federal employees in 1950.

In fact if we look back, we can see corruption and abuse of power clear back almost to the beginning of the US.  In 1831, Robert Potter a Congressman from my other state North Carolina had to resign from office  after castrating two men.  Ouch.

It seems that there are good and bad people in every organization…. public and private.   Governments probably have corruption and abuse of power at about the same level as private companies and other types of organizations do.

We have seen people in the US government start wars based on false information. We have seen them condone torture. We have seen them put people in illegal, hidden prisons… so why would anything be a surprise?

The second issues is that purportedly a corrupt Ecuadorian police we involved as well… and American Airlines as well.

I cannot comment except to say… we are digging for the facts which leads me to two legal tips about living and doing business abroad.

Legal Tip #1: Do not move from one country to another and feel that being beyond the borders of your previous home will provide you with special protection.

All organizations, governmental and not, have some corruption and abuse power.  This is human nature. Expect it and be careful of it.

We live in a global economy that is growing more closely linked all the time.  The long arm of the law can extend beyond borders.

A Time magazine article entitled “Can Swiss Banks Thrive After the UBS-U.S. Deal?” by Helena Bachmann outlines how much pressure US authorities can place on governments abroad.

An excerpt says: After months of behind-the-scenes wrangling that threatened to strain relations between Switzerland and the U.S., the fate of secret Swiss bank accounts reportedly holding billions of dollars in undeclared assets is finally resolved.Under an agreement announced by Swiss and U.S. authorities on Aug. 19, Switzerland’s second largest bank, UBS, will disclose the names of approximately 4,450 American account holders suspected by the IRS of evading taxes. In return, the U.S. Justice Department will withdraw its lawsuit against the banking giant and stop demanding the names of 52,000 Americans accused of hiding assets in offshore accounts.

US officials are not the only ones who abuse power and break laws.  A BBC article “Liechtenstein fury at German tax snoop” by Steven Rosenberg explains how German tax authorities bribed a businessman for bank records.

Here is an excerpt:  Germany has launched a tax evasion investigation using the data, which was supplied by an anonymous informant who was reportedly paid 5m euros (£3.75m; $7.3m).  It was a former LGT employee who stole data relating to German businessmen in Liechtenstein.
It is thought this could be the same information that was bought up by the German secret service.

Germany went on to sell this data to all tax authorities in Europe and I was delighted when the Danish government turned the data down saying they refused to use information that had been illegally obtained.  This is one reason I use Jyske Bank as my main international banker.

Americans can learn more about Jyske’s services from Thomas Fischer at fischer@jgam.com

Non Americans should write Rene Mathys at mathys@jbpb.dk

Here is tip legal #2 for living abroad. The reverse is also true. If you move to another country do not expect your citizenship to protect you if you fall afoul local law.  Do not ignore local laws.

Some recent events remind us of this.   A U.S. student recently convicted of murder in Italy found little help from being an American.

US citizens are not the only who have discovered this sad fact.    Schapelle Leigh Corby, a 27 year old Australian woman traveling to Bali. Indonesia was arrested in 2004, at the airport after 4.2 kilograms of marijuana was found in her boogie-board bag.  She was convicted of importing a group 1 narcotic and sentenced to serve 20 years in jail.  All legal and judicial appeals have been exhausted.

About the same time Singapore executed a 25 year old Australian for drug smuggling despite repeated requests for clemency.

Laws in a new country you visit or move to may seem stupid.. exaggerated… or ignorant… but do not break them. For example Ecuador is very harsh on drugs and child molestation.  Ecuador is one of the few countries I know that inspects for drugs when you come in and depart from the country. If you visit Ecuador, do not ignore this fact!

Every country has its customs, rules, regulations and foibles… in life… in law… in business.

One reader recently sent me this note.

Gary, I am interested in exploring the possibilities of Ecuador , but this seems like  a lot of money to pay for the privilege of letting people try to sell me something.  Seems like they should pay to be in the seminar.  At first I thought it must include the room, but that’s not the case either. What am I missing?

Here is my reply:  You are missing the fact that we do not sell real estate, do not allow our staff to accept commissions on the sale of real estate and have been buying our own real estate and doing business in Ecuador for 14 years.

We ask those whose property we show on the tour to give discounts to our delegates (as we are known to bring many buyers and do not charge commissions). We make sure that sellers show up.  (A bad habit Ecuadorians have is often to not have the property open on time.)

We avoid showing property that in our experience is out of line price wise or quality wise.

We provide efficiency. There are few road signs in Ecuador… no organized brokers… no multiple listings… not many English speaking.  We
plan routes so our delegates can see the most in the shortest time and have English speaking staff with the tours.

We provide contacts with brokers, attorneys architects etc who have shown to be trustworthy.

We share 41 years of experience investing globally and 14 years in Ecuador.

Otherwise chances are you’ll drive around… be lost… see little…  and have no basis on which to compare and when and if you plan to buy
not know if the people you are dealing with are trustworthy.

We feel that our $499 fee is a bargain.  If you hire a car with driver for four days… you’ll have spent almost as much just on transportation.  Regards,  Gary

Our Ecuador real estate tours help you learn the ropes in Ecuador.  We also provide a very personal service that helps you save money and makes your trip to Ecuador more comfortable and secure.   One delegate on a recent tour sent this note.

Merri,  I don’t know how you and Gary give such great individual attention, but I sure appreciate it.  Preparing myself for this trip and the even greater spector of preparing for a life outside the US does not come without a bit of anxiety.  I am so thankful for yours and Gary’s kindness, attention to detail, and responsiveness.  It makes it all seem a little more manageable!  I’ll plan on spending at least the first 2 nights at the Radisson unless we are day two out of Quito.  I will verify my flight with Bonnie.  Thanks again Merri.  Jim

We hope to help you in Ecuador soon.

Delegates gained so much useful information on the October 2009 southern Ecuador beach tour that we have added this tour as a regular part of our 2010 multi tour adventure.

We have been our expanding our focus in Ecuador and this helps readers look in the southern coastal areas.

Ecuador beach property has always represented incredible value and this expansion means we can help readers see a much larger part of the Ecuador coast.

ecuador-beach-map

Those who have been reading our messages for any length of time know that we have focused our efforts on the middle portion of Ecuador’s beach from Manta to Bahia in the province of Manabi.

However there are many other great Ecuador beach areas that you may want to visit.

I recently sent readers an article “SEE SALINAS LIKE A LOCAL” by Amy Pinoargote  that said:

Ecuador-beach-salinas

The Salinas Malecon area has long been a favorite destination.

Salinas is one of the favorite in Ecuador for good reasons.  It has beautiful beaches, with calm waters perfect for swimming, water sports, activities or just relaxing.   Along the Malecon, or beachfront promenade, you will find a variety of restaurants, hotels, bars and other attractions.  During the summer season there is even a giant sandcastle.  If you “tip” the sculptor $1, he will take your photo.  However, to really enjoy all that Salinas has to offer, you need to get to know it like a local.

Salinas at a Glance

There are two seasons in Ecuador.  Summer runs from December to April and winter from May to November.  The summer in Salinas is usually sunny, with occasional showers.  Daytime temperatures reach the low to mid 80s and nighttime temperatures run in the low 70s.  The winter tends to be overcast to partially sunny, but not rainy.  The winter is actually the drier time of the year and temperatures run about 10 degrees cooler than during the summer.   Because Salinas is semi-arid, it doesn’t experience sticky, tropical humidity.  This makes a comfortable environment for outdoor activities all year long.

As with most beach towns, the dress code in Salinas is casual.  It is perfectly fine to go from beach to restaurant.  Along with your swimsuit, pack plenty of shorts and short sleeved shirts, plus pants and long sleeves if you are visiting in the winter months.   Have a sweater handy, as some days are cooler than others.

Where to Eat

The Salinas area is a prime spot to enjoy fresh fish and seafood, as well as other Ecuadorian specialties.

A great spot to sample those specialties is Delícias de Ecuador, located near the entrance to the Costa de Oro neighborhood on the main road that runs from Salinas to La Libertad.

Prices here are very reasonable.  The daily lunch special or “Almuerzo” includes a soup, entrée and beverage, usually priced at $2.50.

Don’t ask for changes or substitutions on the lunch special; it comes the way it is.  Other options include Seco de Pollo, which is chicken stewed in a tomato-based sauce, and Menestra, lentils or beans served with your choice of grilled chicken, beef or fish.

If a relaxing lunch at the beach, complete with a hammock for a post-meal siesta is your style, drive about 30 minutes north of Salinas to San Pablo.  In this fishing village you will find cabana style restaurants right on the sand, specializing in fresh fish and seafood.

Las Manabas restaurant is one of the best.  If you can’t decide what to order from the extensive menu, try the Chupe de Pescado (fish stew) or Corvina (a mild tasting sea bass), cooked to order.  Most meals run between $3 and $5.

Ecuadorians typically eat a big meal at lunch and a light dinner.

Roca Parilla is the spot to enjoy an Ecuadorian style dinner.  Located a block off the Malecon, it opens at about 6 p.m.  Place your order at the counter, then take your receipt to the grill.  Specialties, which are typically priced from 50 cents to $1 each, include:

Chuzos -shrimp, chicken, beef or sausage grilled on a skewer
Torta de Papa – potato pancake filled with cheese
Torta de Choclo – corn pancake (this one is usually a favorite!)
Muchín – a yucca croquet filled with cheese

No trip to Salinas is complete without a visit to the Cevicherías, casual outdoor eating areas a few blocks off the Malecon that specialize in ceviche.  Shrimp ceviche in a tangy salsa is a good choice.  Shellfish and fish ceviche are also available.  Be aware that the shellfish or fish will not be cooked in the traditional manner.  The citrus juice in the salsa is said to “cook” the fish.  If you have concerns about eating uncooked fish, go with the shrimp version, which is cooked.

Things to See

If you want to browse for souvenirs, visit Mercado de Artesanias, an outdoor flea market in the Chipipe area of Salinas, where you can buy a variety of Ecuadorian handicrafts.

To get a glimpse of days gone by, visit the Museo de Sumpa.  This small, but well thought out museum features exhibits of artifacts from the early residents of the Santa Elena peninsula, including the Las Vegas culture.  It also features a Las Vegas burial site of the “lovers of Sumpa,” mummified remains of two people that appear to have died in an embrace.  You can also tour a cane dwelling typical of those built by the early settlers.

Enjoy a relaxing evening drive a few miles across the Santa Elena peninsula to the Punta Carnero beach, where you can see some of the most beautiful sunsets in Ecuador.  On your way back to Salinas, pass by the Malecon of La Libertad and stop for an evening stroll.

Whether dining, sunsets or beach activities are your idea of a fun time, you will find it in Salinas.

Gerardo & Amy Pinoargote spend their time between their home in Florida and Salinas and together with relatives are building and managing Spondylus II, a small beachfront development in the Costa de Oro area of Salinas, about 2 miles from the Malecon.

This is an area they like due to its privacy, great beach for walking, sunbathing and water sports. Yet it is just a short ride to dining and shopping in the central area.

Spondylus II  is a family business consisting of three towers. Tower A1 is sold out, except for a ground floor ocean front 1000 square foot unit. Several one and two bedroom suites are still available in tower A2, priced from $49,500 to $50,500.

Larger 1300 square foot units are also still available, priced under $110,000. Tower B has just been release for sale and features larger units (1400 – 1500 square feet), in the $120,000 – $135,000 price range.

Spondylus II offers the following amenities… beachfront pool & social area, a workout center, 24 hour security and the Pacific Ocean as a front yard.  All units feature granite kitchen counter tops, tile floors, tile baths, inset ceiling light fixtures and wooden kitchen cabinets.

Now it is possible to see Salinas like a local with Amy and her husband acting as your hosts and guides.

Amy and Gerardo Pinoargote will conduct four Ecuador southern coastal real estate tours for us on the following dates.

Mar 28-29. 2010
May 28-29, 2010
Sept 20-21, 2010
Nov 22-23, 2010

On this tour you can get to know Salinas property and the real estate along the beaches north of Salinas.

This is an opportunity to view more than a dozen properties and get tips from experts who are living in this area right now.  You save time, risk and zero in with help from those “in the know”.

The tour makes your real estate investigation efficient and productive but also allows time for relaxing in the evenings and enjoying the beaches.  Plus as you’ll see in a moment could save you thousands should you ever decide to buy in this area.

Here are a few of the properties you’ll see:

•    New 2 bedroom condo located directly on a tranquil beach in popular Salinas… $55,000.

•    3 bedroom, 3 bathroom house with ocean views in the most popular complex in Olon…. $100,000.

•    Large house on a ¼ acre lot near Montanita, complete with basketball court, ample parking and caretaker’s cottage that could be a bed & breakfast… $250,000.

Here is an example of the type of Salinas coastal beach condos for sale you’ll see. This was viewed on the October Ecuador South Coast Real Estate Tour.

This is a property on the tour where the tour operator is offered a 2% discount to Ecuador Living subscribers who are on the tour.

Amy Pinoargote who led the tour wrote:   This is a 5 bedroom townhouse for resale in Spondylus I.  It is listed at $79,000.  It is a small complex with cobblestone streets and a nice pool area.  It is about 1/2 a mile from the beach, conveniently located to shopping.

Here is a Salinas Ecuador coastal update sent to us by Amy Pinoargote.

salinas-picture

Ecuador is known for the Galápagos Islands, the Andes Mountains and the Amazon Jungle.  Did you know that it is also home to the westernmost point in continental South America – the “Chocolatera,” at the tip of the Santa Elena Peninsula in Salinas?

This carries strategic significance. During the World War II era it was home to an American military base.  Now it is occupied by the Ecuadorian armed forces.  However, that doesn’t mean that it is closed to the public.  Visitors simply need to check in at the main gate, where they are asked to leave their driver’s license with the guard.  It will be returned when you check out.  Don’t be alarmed that the guards wear fatigues and carry guns.  Keep in mind that this is normal dress for a military base.

There are no signs or billboards announcing that you have arrived as far west as you can go.  Instead follow signs for the Chocolatera.  You will know you have arrived when you see a black and white lighthouse.  In Spanish chocolatera refers to the container used to make hot chocolate, which is whisked until foamy.  It is said that the waves crashing against the rocky shoreline look like the foam on top of hot chocolate.

salinas-picture

Be sure to wear sturdy shoes.  The terrain is rough and rocky.  Pay attention when you venture towards the edge.  Large waves can suddenly top the cliffs and could even knock you off your feet.  The Ecuadorians say, only half in jest, that if the fall onto the rocks below doesn’t kill you, the sharks lurking in the area will.

Before leaving the base, travel a short distance east from the Chocolatera to the Mar Bravo beach.   It is marked with a sign and lined by a row of tiki huts on the sand.  Surfers say this is the place to find the best waves in Salinas.   This secluded beach is also the perfect spot for a stroll or just to relax and enjoy the sound of the surf.

salinas-picture

During the Ecuadorian winter (North American summer) the rocky outcropping at the eastern end of Mar Bravo beach becomes home to a group of sea lions.

salinas-picture

You will get the best view from the elevated observation area.  And be sure to take your binoculars or use the zoom on your camera to get a closer look.

No matter what time of year you visit Salinas, make sure to include the Clocolatera in your itinerary.

Six Pack… 6 seminars courses & tours  $2,199 Couple $3,099 Save $795 single or $1,395 on a couple or more

These four new south coast tours and our six pack tour price create a bit of a crisis here.

As you can see above a six pack costs $3,099.  This is already a really low price for a tour that last up to 21 days (under $150 a day).

But as you will see below, our International Club membership which allows you and a guest to attend up to 56 courses and tours in 2010  (fees would be $40,947 for all these courses individually) is only $2,999.

Which would you choose… 6 courses and tours for $3,099 or those same 6 courses and tours plus 50 more for $2,999?

“Duh,” I said when this was pointed out to me.

So our only solution is to raise the International Club membership to $3,500… still a terrific deal… but $501 more than before.

Save $37,457…plus $501.  I will not raise the International club fee until January 2010. Enroll in the International Club now at the original fee of $2,999.

Economic turmoil today will create more future prosperity then ever before…for those….who accept change and adapt.

This is why we bring together experienced, like minded souls, who take a positive view and think outside the box..in a constructive…thoughtful way.

Merri and I are in our 41st year of organizing courses, seminars and newsletters about international and quantum lifestyles.

The importance of this sharing…by like minded souls…was reinforced when a delegate from a course sent an email that said:

My Dearest Merri and Gary, Thank you for your most gracious hospitality last weekend. I am just thrilled at being a part of your group. You and Gary were exactly as I imagined you to be, warm friendly, kind, considerate, genuine, helpful, fun, sincere, what else can I say……I felt so comfortable in your presence and learned so much in your course. I was sad to leave the farm that Sunday afternoon. You made us all feel so welcome and cared about.

You were so kind to make arrangements for a ride with the other delegates from the Charlotte airport. They were so nice to me and so helpful, by the time the weekend was over I felt like they were my long lost brothers. Monday morning we all had breakfast at the airport together and I was so sad to see them go, I was sad the weekend was over, perhaps sad is not the right word for how I was feeling perhaps Gratitude is a better way to describe it. Grateful for having the opportunity to share the weekend with such wonderful, like minded Human Beings, in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina. Thank you Merri and Gary…………..Thanks to you I now have new hope and a new direction to move forward in my life. Thanks to you I am so ready to move to Ecuador and begin a new life. I just have to figure out what I am going to do and how to do it……… I know by attending your classes and conferences that through education and due diligence I will make the right choices.

This delegate’s comments about “belonging and feeling like a brother” to the other delegates is a wonderful refrain we have heard from our readers, year after year.

This why I want to share how you can attend 56 of our investment, business, Spanish, real estate and export, courses, tours in 2010 worth $40,947.

20 years ago Merri and I created a way that readers can join us to be immersed in a year-long learning program through our International Club.  The ideas behind this program began 21 years ago in Vienna, Austria while we were conducting a course there. One of our older delegates, had some sort of attack. The first fear was heart trouble. Several delegates took him to the hospital. Others stayed with him there. I don’t think that delegate was alone for a minute!

What impressed Merri and me was that no one asked the delegates to help this man. The friendships of delegates sharing many courses had just grown so strong that it was a natural reaction, just as if a family member was ill. Fortunately, it was only travel fatigue and the delegate didn’t miss a session of the course!

When you join our International Club 2010 you become part of a special family. The very first member to join the club all those years ago wrote,

“Thank you for the enjoyable and informative courses. I am pleased to be part of your international family and look forward to continuing my education at the next course.”

His feeling struck a familiar chord. It has always been one of my greatest satisfactions to see how much fun delegates have getting together, sharing information and making friendships. These courses somehow draw together like-minded souls. For this reason some delegates come back again and again. They come to learn, but also to be with their many friends made at the courses.

When like-minded souls get together again and again to discuss a common purpose, magic happens! I can’t explain it in any other way-but it is true. In a way our meetings are almost like family reunions. Perhaps it is getting together and reflecting on what has been said and what has been happening. Learning with those who are also interested in the world creates thoughts that multiply the value of what we gain. This is hard to describe but results are most powerful and wonderful!

This is to me is as important as the great financial benefit of attending 52 courses that would cost $40,947 if all booked separately.

See why and our 2010 schedule below.

We started and have continued this program for 20 years because there are wonderful benefits from having repeat delegates at courses. Having repeat delegates makes the whole course somehow more exciting for all. Being a repeat delegate makes it easier to make and keep wealth and to lock in the knowledge you gain. It’s an exciting lifestyle. We have fun, gain adventure, discovery and friendships and share ways to improve our health and wealth!

We have more than doubled our courses in 2010… 56 courses and tours, two in the Blue Ridge of North Carolina, three in Central Florida and the balance in Ecuador.  Few club members actually attend every course and tour…  but you can if you desire. If you attend even a few of the courses, you gain considerable savings.

For those not interested or unable to visit Ecuador, we have our North Carolina courses in the summer when it is cool here in the Blue Ridge Mountains and don’t forget the autumnal beauty in October…. plus in Florida during the winter.  Each US course is attached to an Ecuador tour so you gain information in the US and then travel with others to Ecuador for experience (if you desire).

Here are the 56 courses and tours you can attend free. Plus there is even one more savings you will see below.

Capital Ecuador Income

Here is a capital idea to gain some extra capitals gains as income.

Kjetil Haugan, owner of the Vistazul project, where I have purchased condos, recently sent me the note below that sparked some capital income ideas.

ecuador-beach-real-estate

Mid coast Ecuador tour delegates visiting Palmazul condos.

Kjetil wrote: Gary, I am getting more and more requests for the time-share units and think I can do quite well with a bit more marketing here in Ecuador. I already have a company interested in working with me to sell the weeks..they sold out Casablanca, a project in the north of Ecuador and another time share development in Esmeraldas and they need more inventory.

If your readers buy a unit I would still sell at $ 89,000 but offer them a quite good return if they offered their unit as time share. If I helped out to sell the high season weeks (let’s say 20 weeks + @ $ 4000 each) they would recover most of their investment and still have 30 weeks for themselves.

This is a speculative capital idea that can create some tax free (in Ecuador) capital gains.

Let me share a few of the reasons why Merri and I are enthusiastic about the Vistazul Ecuador beach condo project.

First, it’s the water.

Ecuador-beach-property

Most parts of Ecuador’s coast are without a central water supply and water is delivered in trucks like this.  That system works okay, is inexpensive  and the water is good.. yet to have your own water supply is even better.  Vistazul has its own water wells.  The water is a bit saline but Kjetil also developed a company that owns several Galapagos cruise ships so has experience with desalination.  As you’ll see below these beach condos have their own water… generator and  desalination.

Second, we love the warm water and waves.

Ecuador-beach-property

Merri and I lived on the Gulf of Mexico for many years and love to frolic in the waves… but in the Pacific?  Where I grew up in Oregon… the water is just too cold to stay in long.   Yet on Ecuador’s Pacific the water is almost as warm as the Gulf of Mexico… yet the waves are good.  We can play in the water for hours without getting to cold.  We never worry about hurricanes because they do not have them on the Ecuador coast.

Plus the weather is best in the winter when its coldest up north.

Third… the empty beaches and protection from excessive  development. You can walk for about 30 miles at low tide. Here is a shot from Crucita.  You can walk all the way to the point in the distance (this is where Vistazul is located).

Ecuador-beach-property

Then once around the point you can walk many miles more… often never seeing another person. Here are Merri and me with our friend Steve Hankins enjoying this broad beach with our hound, Ma.

Fourth, peace & quiet. San Clemente is a small fishing village and Vistazul is on a secluded dead end road… with little traffic and hills behind the condos.  The town is quiet and the community concerned with developing tourism… but without destroying the environment.  Kjetil spent many hours with community leaders obtaining a consensus on how what and how much to build.

Ecuador-beach-property

This is the center of San Clemente, very quiet, yet only 45 minutes to central Manta… and all the resources of a major port city.

Local transportation into San Clemente is on foot (Merri and I enjoy ambling on the beach), or in these quaint taxis.

Ecuador-beach-property

Fifth, fresh seafood… really fresh…  really cheap. The fishermen bring in their catch each day and you can buy right from the boat.

Ecuador-beach-property

Sixth, safety in the fact that your are buying real property… not just a promise. The club house exists… the pool… the tennis courts… the spa, the condos. You are buying completed or nearly completed condos with a title and US title insurance.

Palmazul Spa is Vistazul’s clubhouse.  Pool, Tennis, spa and gourmet dining on the beach.

Merri and I purchased at the beginning when the project looked like…

this… but now most of the condos are complete and some residents have moved in.

Here is a group of delegates inspecting one of my Ecuador beach condos at Vistazul.

Finally, Merri and I love the sunsets. When we lived in Naples, everyone gathered to watch the sunsets and I thought they could never be better. At the Equator they are!

Here is a group enjoying a roof garden party as…

they enjoy a warm, sea breeze and a sun that sinks gently into the sea.

Vistazul is a great place.  So too is the profit potential. Here is how Kjetil explained this capital gains opportunity of buying whole and selling in pieces.

Gary, Here is a quick update on the project.  Business has been slow as the government is rebuilding the roads from Manta to this area so we currently have to take a much longer back way to get here from Manta.

This means I get complaints about all the driving time but in the long run the improved road will dramatically enhance value.

I have received a private loan from one of the buyers at Vistazul and should have enough money to complete all the units..I still need a couple of sales to be able to complete all the infrastructure but I am negotiating credits, etc. so I may be able to make it with what I have.

Block 5 is ready..block 4 is painted and with tile and block 2 is almost ready to be painted and for tile to be installed. Block 6 will have the second floor put in next week. I have already contracted a swimming pool and a desalination system that will produce enough portable water for Vistazul and the hotel. We also have a group of 13 carpenters working 14 hours per day to complete all woodwork on all the units so things are going well.  In total there are approx. 40 people working at Vistazul right now.

We had a group of Ecuadorians at Vistazul yesterday and they committed to buy 12 weeks for time share..I am making a brochure and planning on a marketing campaign starting in January so I believe the time share idea could work well over time. The downturn is that you will have families with kids times of the year but mainly in July/August when most of the current owners will be back home.

I have mentioned the option to sell weeks to several of the condo owners and they seemed to be interested in the idea.  If they pay $ 89,000 and sell the premium weeks + some high season weeks they should be able to recover their investment and still have 30 weeks for themselves. They could even try to sell the 30 weeks over time and make good money if it was only for investment.

We are promoting premium weeks (Christmas, New Year, Carnival and Easter) at $ 6,995, High season (February, March, July, August) at  $3,995 and the rest of the weeks at $ 1,995.  We charge 10% to sell the weeks and I believe we should be able to sell most of the weeks over time (2 to 3 years). We have already received about 200 inquiries for the New Year weekend at the hotel and we sold out months ago for this date so San Clemente is getting more and more popular with Ecuadorians.

You can see our first offer at our Spanish website for these time shares at www.lacostaecuador.com
.

Regards,  Kjetil.

There you have it. beauty… charm and opportunity.  There are some risks involved. Once you start selling the time share units… you lose the opportunity to sell as a whole unit… plus you have to manage, maintain and care for this type of ownership.  Plus there is no guarantee you can resell enough units this way to recover your whole investment.

On the other hand if you recover your investment selling half the units, this means you end up with half a year of use for yourself free.

There are other ways to profit from an Ecuador beach property like this… such as advance rentals.

A New York Times article entitled “Making Her Dream House Pay for Itself”  by Amy Silverman tells how  Julie Hampton bought a villa in Tuscany, raising the purchase price by selling three-week stays for $1,000 each.

Here are excerpts from that article:  WHEN Julie Hampton was a graduate student, she decided that she wanted to buy a small house in a remote Italian village about a 90-minute drive northwest of Florence. But she didn’t have the more than $80,000 she needed, so she came up with a plan.

She went to the local office of the Small Business Administration and told a volunteer adviser that she wanted to finance the purchase largely by persuading 60 people to pay $1,000 each in exchange for three weeks at the villa. The adviser laughed.

Then he bent over and began searching around her feet. Ms. Hampton didn’t understand why he was doing that, she recalled nearly six years later, sitting in her apartment in downtown Phoenix. So she asked him a question — did he drop his pen?

“And he said, ‘No, I’m looking around for my bucket of cold water.’ ”

But Ms. Hampton was unfazed: “I said, ‘I’m provin’ you wrong, pal.’ ”

So prove him wrong she did. The meeting took place in early 2001. That same year, Ms. Hampton, after coming up with all the money, in exactly the way she planned, bought a 2,500-square-foot house in the medieval village of Vitiana.

She e-mailed the owners and went off to Los Angeles for New Year’s 2001. When she came back, an e-mail response was waiting: “If you can come before Jan. 15, we’ll show you the house.”  Ms. Hampton bought a plane ticket and left for Italy within a week. A friend of a friend arranged a place for her to stay in Florence and left a key with a neighbor.

Several days later, she drove to Vitiana with the two owners.

She felt she had to have the house. But she kept reminding herself that she didn’t have the money. Nonetheless, she agreed to buy it, putting down, as a binder, $2,300 — college-fund money that was left after she had paid tuition.

Back in the United States, she found a lawyer willing to help her create a limited-liability company and draw up simple legal arrangements for the transactions that would implement her plan. With only a few weeks to go until a $28,000 down payment was due, Ms. Hampton made a color brochure and offered three weeks at the villa to anyone willing to pay her $1,000. (Not all of the weeks needed to be taken at one time, and if the money was sent before the down-payment deadline, the buyer would get a bonus week.) She also put a six-line classified ad in The New York Times Travel section for four weeks at $270 a week.

She met the deadline — getting all the money from subscribers.

Long before New Year’s 2002, the house was Ms. Hampton’s. She wound up paying $82,000 — including $12,000 from a retirement account, a $6,000 loan from her parents and $8,000 in loans from her credit union. About half the 60 subscribers came from the Phoenix area, and half from responses to the ad.

An Ecuador beach rental would seem to be much easier to rent than an Italian villa in the current depressed economy… closer and far… far less expensive.

If you are looking for a speculation that could bring good capital gains or the use of an Ecuador beach condo for half the year… consider buying whole and selling some of the pieces.

Save even $10,000 more. We have several units reserved for Ecuador Living subscribers at $79,000, $10,000 off the retail price of these Ecuador beach condos.  See more details on how to become an Ecuador Living subscriber here.

Selling Your US Property for Ecuador

Here a thought on selling your US property so you can buy real estate in Ecuador… or just to get your US place sold.

One of the most frequent notes I receive from people wanting to move to Ecuador… or move at all or receive debt is… “I’ll do it as soon as I sell my place.”

There are some great property deals in Ecuador.

For example these adobe homes are…

ecuador-cash

about 1,500 square feet. This is a shot Merri took last September of me with the builder Jorge Quilambaci. Here is the front yard of this house.

ecuador-cash

The have nice interesting designs and…

ecuador-cash

are roomy… but…

ecuador-cash

the asking price is only $85,000.

That house is probably finished now, yet many people who would like to buy it cannot… unless they sell their US or Canadian house.

Here is a tip that can help you sell your property:  In tough buyer markets, we have to be creative by spotting distortions.

Here is a true story of how I helped a developer take advantage of distortions during the 1970s economic crunch.

This developer was a Brooklyn Boomer, and at that time a young real estate developer who got into international fund raising to save his neck.

He was sharp, intelligent and successful and in the 1970s he stumbled onto an exciting real estate idea that was bringing him great profits. Manhattan real estate prices were rising strongly in the 70s. The boomer saw that young professionals his age (late 20’s and early 30’s) could no longer afford to live in the better parts of this exclusive island.

He knew they needed to be close to town for their profession, wanted lots of room to raise their families and liked living in a nice setting with good architectural design and all the conveniences of modern living. He filled these needs by converting warehouses in Brooklyn into attractive and spacious condominium living units. The idea worked very well. The warehouses were only short blocks from very nice residential parts of Brooklyn and were capable of providing many large living units. This man’s business prospered and soon he started an even bigger project and then another. He was doing really well.

Then the economy bombed the boomer.  He was more than fully committed, over borrowed and needed quick cash to keep his deal going. An oil shortage, a banking crash and really high interest rates were on the verge of shutting him down.  For real estate developers the 1970s recession was almost as bad as now.

The developer was caught in a bind having already borrowed as much as he could based upon his previous successes. His financing was all in short term construction loans that were coming due, and he had to refinance at higher and higher rates.

High interest rates hit him doubly. First, his construction loan rates ruined cash flow and ate potential profits. Even worse the high rates increased mortgage payments so young professionals could no longer qualify for mortgages. His bankers were edgy.

At this stage, he consulted me about raising money from Europeans to tide him through his cash crisis.

At his request, I flew to New York and rode with him to the apartments. They were beautiful, so attractively designed that they had been featured in an architectural magazine. “Just the kind of place Europeans love” was my thought, “but how do we get quick financing?”

Perhaps, I thought that it would be better to sell apartments to Europeans rather than ask for loans!

Owning houses is something Europeans readily understand. They have confidence in owning houses. Making loans and investing in equities are not so much their deals.

So we treated the apartments as the investment and placed small, classified ads in the Netherlands, England and Germany.

Here is why.  Interest rates on the dollar at that time were at all time highs. Plus the U.S. dollar parity was at an all time low versus the British pound, German mark and Dutch guilder. These Brooklyn condos, seemed really cheap, when converted into foreign currency!

We did not try to sell the condos by mail. The sole object of our first ads was to find Dutch, German and English investors who were interested enough in investing in New York, that they would come and look at the condos.

Our sales package was aimed at getting the investors to Brooklyn, not at selling the condos direct. We wanted centers of influence. The marketing package included a copy of the famous architectural magazine showing the condos as well as details about profit potential of the property and the really low price in European and British currency terms. We kept a clear message that we were offering an investment backed by property ownership and that we wanted to meet the buyers and let them see for themselves.

The American buyers who had been buying from the Brooklyn Bomber were buying homes. These Europeans were making an investment which was very different.

We designed a package so the Europeans could buy an apartment, and immediately lease it to an American buyer – with a lease option.

This helped the Americans who wanted a place to live but currently could not qualify for a mortgage. They could immediately move into the house of their dreams and buy it later when they had a larger income (or when interest rates fell).

The lease on the other hand created immediate income for the European investor and the lease option sales price locked in a capital gain for the European.

The Europeans loved this because they earned income now, appreciation later and the entire package was secured by the real estate itself.

This was a win – win deal all made possible by distortions of currency fluctuations. The weak U.S. dollar made this property seem really cheap to Europeans. Yet the weak dollar pushed up oil prices, and interest rates made the condos really expensive for Americans.

One more point can be gained from this Case Study. The developer’s goal was to sell as many apartments to European investors for cash as fast as he could while the distortion remained. Yet we also set up a limited partnership designed for small investors who could not afford to buy an entire apartment. The partnership took title to one condo at a time and sold units of ownership for as little as U.S. $5,000.

This allowed Europeans to own a part of condo and gave the developer investment packages to sell for all ranges of investors. He sold the apartments for $125,000 to $250,000 to single investors, but with his deal could offer a $5,000 investment.

By taking advantage of this distortion this Brooklyn developer did not bomb out!  This gave the Brooklyn Boomer a plan to salvage his tight position then, but also gave him much, much more. Once he had developed a group of real estate investors in Europe he had an entirely new source of financing for the future. As interest rates fell and the leasees began to exercise their options, his European investors saw profits and had extra cash. By developing good will with these investors he maintained a steady source of equity finance that allowed him to outgun other developers in the area.

This led the developer into an international business, with an overseas sales company. He learned how to use the Circle of 100. He paid this sales company generous commissions and built an asset protected cash reserve aboard.

This is a wonderful case where the solution to a short-term problem (that could have bankrupted the developer) created a reliable long-term source of finance, solved his current problem and remained so he could also use it in the future.

He gained a source of money in many currencies and often at competitive interest rates. This source of money was available in good times AND bad, when other developers could not get money at all!

He gained an overseas company with 50% non-U.S. owners so he reduced U.S. tax liability. The assets in this overseas company were also protected from lawsuits and litigation in the U.S.

Distortions in currencies and interest rates around the world can bring an infusion of cash, buyers, different rates of interest, opportunities to reduce tax, eliminate liability. The process can also be a great deal of fun, if you learn how to understand markets abroad and adapt your plans to match the market!

Until then may all you business be good.

Gary

2012

Many readers are writing and asking about being in Ecuador in 2012.

2012 is a year according to some interpretations of the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar that there will be some huge changes in the world.

There are a variety of popular beliefs about what the change in 2012 will be ranging from a spiritual transformation to some apocalyptic shift.

Interestingly enough 2012 also is the last year of a bear cycle in the 30 year economic/stock cycle we track.

Ecuador-shamans

We have discussed 2012 with a number of Ecuador shamans and they feel that this prediction may be off by several years due to inaccuracies in tracking the movements of the stars. Some even believe the economic upheaval of the last two years has kicked off the shift.

One reader sent this question:

Gary,  This may sound harebrained, but is there any ideal place to be on 12-21-2012?  I’ve read that the Bush family has purchased a large tract of land in Paraguay.

Here is my reply: We have our places in Ecuador, the Blue Ridge of North Carolina and in Florida.  Each could be a positive place.

We hope that the shifts will be positive spiritual shifts not the disaster some predict… and we plan accordingly.

Here is my logic. If we are wrong. If there is an  apocalypse, then no amount of planning can assure that one will be in the right place at the right time. Thus we focus on making our minds, bodies and spirits strong so we’ll do the best we can with whatever comes, good or bad.

Another reader sent this note: Is the 2012 doomsday scenario just a replay of y2k?  Or is it something more?  Apparently, the planets will align.  But are we really part of a galaxy that is tilting into the Milky Way galaxy?  (This presupposes that the Milky Way galaxy is not our galaxy.)  Do you expect serious solar activity?  Is 12-21-2012 going to be a non-event?

I’m very worried about the U.S. economy in 2010.  (Let’s take it a year at a time!)  Many mortgage resets begin in May of 2010 and continue throughout October of 2011.  I think the economy and job losses will get a lot worse, soon.  I don’t know how this will affect the stock market.  Do you have any thoughts on this?

What about the Schiff method of buying stocks of large dividend-paying offshore companies?  As the dividends are repatriated, they will supposedly rise in value as the U.S. dollar continues to fall.  How far will the U.S. dollar fall?  (I’m thinking it’ll find a floor of around 72 on the $USD chart.)

Like you, I have done very well in business.  Now, though, I’m a deer in the headlights of an oncoming train.  I want to preserve capital–that is, purchasing power–but I don’t know the best method. Hope you and Merri are well and continuing to prosper in 2012.

Here is more of my thinking. Life is for living… not scampering around just to prepare for doom.  We should be concerned about imbalances in the world, yes… but not afraid.  We should look for ways to resolve our concerns… in ways that are fun and fulfilling if our fears (as they have so far) turn out wrong.

For example, another reader wrote about the article Intelligent Protection From EMP Terrorist AttackGary; Good article.  I have heard a couple more recommendations.  First, if you have a swimming pool change it to a salt pool, so you can use the water for household use, if the water supply goes off line.  Second, install a natural gas backup generator, as natural gas will flow even if the electrical grid is down. Fritz Biermeier

We do have a pool and this is a great idea… but not because I believe we are going to have a terrorist attack. Salt pools are healthier and easier to maintain… so we had plan to make this conversion for good reasons.   If it is every needed for survival well that’s good as well.

2012

We also have a large generator.

2012

This is not because we believe in a terror attack. Storms here seem to shut the electricity down here.  Last week power was off for much of the day, but… I was still in business.

Do things you want to do anyway that help allay your concerns about 2012. Take steps you’ll be happy to have taken when everything turns out better than before.

I’ll make a bold prediction about 2012.

One of three things will happen.  Life will get worse. Life with get better or life will stay the same.  None of us really know.  There are many reasons why we should have some concerns for the future.  Problems will arise in the years ahead… big and small.  Just remember if you are tuned… physically, emotionally and mentally… problems will become opportunities.

Ecuador Asset Power

Ecuador Asset Power

Perhaps the greatest asset is real flexibility.  Years ago we lived in Ecuador with the Taita Yatchak. Here is a small house that his village built for us.  It was covered in passion flowers!

ecuador-assets

Once in awhile the yatchak would take off for a walk about and the villagers and his family would be amused when we asked “When will he return?”

“No one knows… especially not the Yatchak” they would rely.

I asked him about this once and his response was that when he was hiking around…   events… signs and intuition would lead him and show where to go.  He came back home when he received a sign that was a time to be back.   This of course would drive us Westerners who had appointments and scheduled meetings and clocks crazy!   There is nothing like bringing to meet the yatchak… and he is not around!

But the Andean belief is to let nature be our guide.

Beliefs in India are this way as well. I recall one sage saying that we are in perfect harmony when what nature delivers is exactly what we desire.  We become one with nature… always happy… always pleased.

One quote in the wonderful book “Autobiography of a Yogi” tells how during the British occupation if an enlightened Indian was brought to court and threatened with harsh punishment, he would speak the truth even when a small lie could have eliminated their penalty. This was because they knew… “if you never tell a lie… then whatever you say will be true.”  Such a simple but deeply profound wisdom.

Recent messages have looked at the risks of a breakdown in North American society from an EMP attack.

Numerous readers expressed concern about what to do if one is not in the right place when an attack takes place.  Others worried about neighbors attacking one another or people from the city invading the country.

First please realize that a total breakdown such as described in the various doomsday novels using EMP as the culprit are highly unlikely. Those who suggest that the end of the world is ahead may be trying to panic the public, for whatever reason, just as many did when they promoted nuclear holocausts… Y2K… the Swine or Avian Flu… SARS etc.

Yet… here we are.. humanity, alive… progressing… abundant… and I hope in a holiday mood!

However there are plenty of potential shifts in the global economy and society that are cause for concern.
The problem of global inflation combined with high unemployment (stagflation) created by massive debt in the US, Japan and Europe is one example.

Yet problems are good once we accept the fact that problems and change create opportunity.

Everyone wants a better life… yet most resist change.  How can things get better without change?

I am reminded of the 700 year old motto on the Isle of Man….”Quocunque Jeceris Stabit” which translates literally as “whithersoever you throw it, it will stand.”

Merri and I conducted many real estate tours on the Isle of Man years ago… before prices skyrocketed.   We were there when I published my first novel, “The 65th Octave” and the Manx Prime Minister was kind enough to write a forward for that book.  Many of our readers and tour delegates still live there… having picked up great real estate bargains there in the 1990s… just as they did in Ecuador on early 200o tours.

The Isle of Man (the oldest democracy in the world) is a truly wonderful place and I try to live by its motto… “Whichever way you throw me, I land on my feet.”  Merri and I often look at each other in tough situations and quote this out loud!

Have no doubt, society is getting thrown. Change is accelerating.

So we can choose to benefit from the shifts… or not.

Success, in a faster changing world, comes from “what we are”… not “what we have”.

What we have stored within… not what stuff we have stored is the key to success.

Many messages at this site have focused on the fact that the way to flight inflation and benefit from change is to first improve yourself… your health… your intelligence and your ability to act on what you feel (intuition) as well as what you think (your logic).

Then invest in:  Equities… Commodities… Your Own Business and Real Estate.

Merri and I live by this belief and have invested heavily in Ecuador and Smalltown USA real estate.

We work continuously at improving ourselves and our own small business.

We have expanded our investments in commodities by investing in the direct ownership of timber, water and have now purchased orange groves in Florida.

Merri and I currently do not hold many equities…instead we hold bonds. In the past two years, bonds have acted like equities.  Plus there has been such great opportunity in business and real estate we have not had the time to study shares.  However we continually look for good value equities as well.

Our email courses, seminars and tours focus on these same ideas… improve yourself with quantum health and wealth.  Make yourself wiser… more flexible and more adaptable as you invest in your own internet businessglobal multi currency investments… real estate in small town USA and Ecuador.

Here is an idea for an Ecuador internet business.

Integrate your intuition with your logic.  Turn your passion into profit. The daughter of one of our tour delegates provides a great example.  He attended a number of our conferences last year and I enjoyed watching  him when he was buying goods to export from Ecuador for his daughter’s business. She turned her passion to help poor women around the world into a profitable internet business.

Ecuador exports help poor Ecuadorians live better.

This excerpt from a Country Living article entitled “Nesting Instinct” explains her business success.

Name: Rebecca Kousky
Location: St. Louis, MO
Business: buildanest.com

How did you start Nest?

I graduated at 24 with a master’s degree in social work and I couldn’t decide what I wanted to do next. I applied to several jobs. Then one day I went to a coffee shop and just ended up listing all the things I liked on a sheet of paper and trying to come up with something that fulfilled many of my interests: working with women and children, social activism, international travel, fashion, design, art, and the “green” movement. I knew I was at a point in my life where I could take risks, so I started the business in June (two weeks after graduation), and by August was selling goods from 40 designers. We grew really fast: At our year anniversary, we had 80 designers.

Why this business?

Nest provides micro-credit loans to women in developing nations to help them start art or craft-based businesses. Many of the societies where these women come from are patriarchal — the women’s husbands and fathers handle money, so they are reliant upon them for everything. Working with Nest helps the loan recipients ease into self-sufficiency. Our business model is unique in that we try really hard not just to be a bank; we want to help council the women, learn about their dreams and hopes and family lives. And the women are able to pay back their loans to us by selling their goods on our site.

What’s the best advice you got before launching?

I come from a family of entrepreneurs, so I had lots of support around me. At first, I was really stuck on the idea of having a physical boutique, but the bank denied me a loan. I told my dad what had happened. He asked me how badly I wanted to do this, and when I told him it was what I really wanted, he said then I needed to figure out a way to make it feasible. That’s when I came up with the idea to put Nest online. If you have a dream and a passion for something, you find a way to make it work.

What advice can you give for someone considering starting her own business?

Just to do it! There are a million reasons out there not to do it — for example, everyone thought I should get a job with a stable paycheck after grad school, but I went and started Nest anyway. I didn’t have any experience with online sales or boutiques, but you learn as you go. I realized that it’s good to have a vision, but if you look too far in the future it’s overwhelming. Instead, take one step at a time.

I could not have said this better. Take it one step at a time. Be flexible and adapt…learn… grow…have fun and profit.  Living, investing and serving in this way turns life into one big pleasant walkabout!

Helen Keller expressed how to proceed nicely when she said:  “I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do something that I can do.”

We do not know what the future will bring, but history is on our side.  Despite humanity’s many waves the tide has continued to rise and we can ride this uplift if we develop our greatest asset.

Until next message, may all your problems be good.

This optional, free Quantum Wealth workshop shows how to apply the intelligence to business, investing and lifestyle.

We have blended this method of gaining increased intelligence and super thinking into our Super Thinking + Spanish for many years but now have added this to our international investing and business seminars to create quantum wealth.

There are at least three simple ways to turn on this super thinking ability:  meditation, listening to 60 cycle music and taking Theanine.
These three steps integrate four categories of brainwaves, ranging from beta waves, the fastest of the four different brainwaves to alpha, theta and the final brainwave state, delta. Delta brainwaves are of the greatest amplitude and slowest frequency.  Deep dreamless sleep takes you down to the lowest frequency.

When we allow these waves to interconnect freely we gain unimaginable intellect.

Merri and I meditate twice every day to tap into this energy.

Plus we listen to 60 beat ten cycle classical music as we work. You could count the number of times we have missed our meditation routine in the last 20 years on one hand. This helps us enormously.

This type of music, along with deep breathing exercises for relaxation moves the mind into Alpha and deeper states as well.  Health benefits are gained as blood pressure can drop, heart rates slow and the mind becomes calmed.

This is a simple as listening to relaxing Baroque music such as Handel’s Water Music. A few others compositions at this cycle include Corelli’s Concerti Grossi, Op. 6, Violin and Orchestra in No. 2, 8, 5, 9. or J.S. Bach’s Fantasy in C Minor and Trio in D minor or Vivaldi’s Five Concertos for Flute and Chamber Orchestra.

Music has been used for centuries to induce states…babies being lullabyed to sleep, sea chanteys and harvesting songs to ease workers while laboring. Eastern mystics and South American shaman have used music to carry them to unusual states of consciousness.

Your body relaxes and your mind becomes alert in these simple forms of relaxation.

The Soviet psychologist, I.K. Platonov, found it was possible to just use a metronome beating at 60 to enable the mind to take in and hold more strongly.
In choosing a recording of a slow movement, simply check that the tempo is about 60 beats a minute. When a composer writes a piece of music, he indicates the speed at which he wants each of the different movements or segments to be played.

These indications of tempo are generally given in Italian. You will often see them on the different movements of a concerto. For instance, allegro indicates a tempo of around 120 – 168 beats to the minute, andante around 76-108, adagio from around 66 to 76, larghetto 60 to 66 and largo 40-60 beats to the minute. Some performers and conductors may set a tempo somewhat faster or slower than what the composer indicated. To check out the tempo of a recording, be sure it’s at around 60 beats a minute. You can check it with a metronome or against a clock with a second hand. It’s LARGO that we are striving for.

Here is a portion of the music list provided with that study.

Bach, J.S.: Largo from Concerto in G Minor for Flute and Strings. Bach and Telemann Flute Concerts and Aria to The Goldberg Variations.

Corelli, A.: Sarabanda (largo) from Concerto #7 in D Minor.

Corelli: 12 Concerti Grossi op.5

Handel, G.F.: Largo from Concerto #1 in F. Music from the Royal Fireworks.

Telemann, G.: Largo from Double Fantasia in G Major for Harpsichord.

6 Fantasias for Harpsichord Vivaldi, A.: Largo from Winter. The Four Seasons

A third avenue that helps enhance intelligence is Theanine (chemical name: r-glutamylethylamide) one of the chemicals found in green tea. Theanine is used to reduce stress and anxiety without the tranquilizing effects found in many other calming agents. Scientific evidence shows that Theanine stimulates the brain’s production of alpha waves, making the user feel relaxed but alert and not drowsy. It also helps the body produce other calming amino acids, such as dopamine, GABA, and tryptophan. As might be expected from a calming supplement, Theanine may be able to lower elevated blood pressure as well.

Our Quantum Wealth workshop looks at how to use super thinking to tap into deeper intelligence and what to do with this intelligence in business, investing and life.

This course changes the way a person thinks and learns forever.

Then Merri and I along with Thomas Fischer of Jyske Global Asset Management conduct our three day International Business and Investing Course. See more details of this International Investing & Business course here.

Here are what a few people say about our courses.

“Hi Gary & Merri, You two are the BEST!!! Your Seminar was fantastic! I am so excited. I had procrastinated fulfilling my continuing education for my Broker’s License and then just before my surgeries, I realized my expiration date isn’t Nov. 12th – it is Sept 12th. Well, as you can see prior to taking your course I had only completed 3 units of the required 45 units. I thought I would take your course and then complete my remaining 42 units over the next 2 weeks. However, I took one class exam on Saturday night, August 27th. I didn’t even take the cellophane off the required Course manuals until after I saw the two of you today less than 5 hours ago! I used your techniques and completed 39 units of continuing education today. I have now completed all 45 units. All of my test scores were in the 90.6-96% range. My course exam information is listed below. I just wanted to let you know how valuable your course was to me. Thanks again!” Suzy Kurinsky

Hi Gary and Merri,  I wanted to thank you so deeply for a wonderful informative 3 days this past weekend in North Carolina. I learned a lot, was completely stimulated in many realms and found your attitudes, goals and ambitions refreshing and wonderful. So thank you thank you thank you. I was not disappointed. Merri had assured me I would not be and she was right.  I hope to stay in touch and again I thank you so much for the knowledge and life philosophy you shared with us all. Renie

Dear Gary and Merri, We were so excited by all the possibilities that came up at the IBEZ seminar that our 700 mile drive home seemed almost short! My husband and I had an action plan ready to execute as soon as we got home… thanks to the step-by-step guidelines from your webmaster. Thanks for showing us a road map leading into an exciting, profitable future. Priscilla

I would like to thank you and Gary for a wonderful course. We thoroughly enjoyed all the information presented by Gary, Thomas and David. And we thank you for your hospitality with having us to your lovely “piece of paradise” in North Carolina. The lunch was delicious and your presentation of import/export items was quite interesting. We look forward to visiting Ecuador in September of 2010. And we look forward to visiting and staying at your hotel in Cotocatchi. Thank you again for a truly life changing and life enhancing weekend. And we also wish your loved ones a speedy recovery and good health. Best regards, Randy

Dear Gary and Merri:  We so enjoyed attending the IBEZ Seminar this past weekend in Jefferson, NC.  We loved the high country area, the nice people we met and particularly enjoyed the visit and tour of the New River Winery. We had a long drive home on Sunday and were sad that we had to leave and not be able to join you and our group for lunch at your farm and sad that we missed Merri’s cooking.  We hope someday in the future we may have the opportunity to visit your property as we heard it is quite beautiful.  Besides all of the relevant information, your emphasis on honesty and the importance of not be deceptive was reassuring.  The bottom line is, that what gave real value to the information we were receiving and what made us feel comfortable was, that we felt you, Thomas and David were all people of good character.  Something that is very important to us.  Thank you, Gary and Merri, for providing a wonderful Seminar.  Mike

Ecuador Shamans & Pyramids

Ecuador shamans often visit pyramids built in Ecuador.

Yesterday Blaine Watson began began his two day course that will be followed by an Ecuador shaman tour.

We began Blaine’s course with a a tele conference and  spoke to the group about Quantum mechanics… about Dan Brown’s new book… “The Lost Symbol” that explains how America’s founding fathers used astrology in many ways including how and when to set the cornerstone of the White House.

We also talked about the irony of science and human knowledge. During George Washington’s era or perhaps a bit before… had I suggested that I could sit in Florida and see and be seen and hear and be heard instantaneously by a group of people in Ecuador, I might have been burned at the stake for witch craft.  Yet astrology then was a common tool of knowledge.   Today we take tele conferences for granted… yet many equate astrology  with witchcraft.   Funny isn’t it?

Blaine sent this report:

I reached Ecuador last night and arrived in Cotacachi after midnight.  The sun is shining very brightly this morning so it is not possible to sleep in in spite of the time zone difference.  I never cease to be attracted to the beauty of this country, the volcanoes, even in the dark, blue in the full moon light and reaching for the sky, the quietness of the countryside, the openness of the faces and the relatively stress free eyes.

The first three photos are taken from the balcony outside my door at Meson de las Flores.

Gary has many more beautiful shots of this area in his newsletter but this is what I see when I look out.

ecuador-pyramids

I am up on the 3rd floor so it is very pretty.

ecuador-pyramids

The town of Cotacachi is a primarily indigenous town situated between two volcanoes. I have written of this before and how sacred it is here at the center of the earth.

Mid afternoon yesterday I joined Bonnie Keough (who will guide the shaman tour after my course) to visit Cochasqui.

Gary had been telling me about this for a while now. It is an ancient pyramid site, pre-Incan, which was discovered only as recently as 1962. There are 15 pyramids ranging from small to large.  Five of these Ecuador pyramids still have the dirt ramps leading up to the top platform. What I was not able to find out is whether the ramps were part of the original construction or put there when the people who built them covered them with earth to hide them from the Incans.

The significance of this place is astronomical, literally.   Two of the pyramids that have been partially excavated were the lunar and solar pyramids.  All of the pyramids are constructed of fired volcanic earth rather than stone.

ecuador-pyramids

The top platform of the solar and lunar pyramids are covered with a 3-4 inch thick ceramic calendar, circular in shape. There is a lunar calendar at the top of the lunar pyramid.

ecuador-pyramids

Lunar calendar.

There is a solar calendar for the solar pyramid.

ecuador-pyramids

Solar calendar.

This is the largest solar calendar in the Americas.  The site is located at 0 degrees 0 minutes and 3 seconds of latitude so virtually on the equator.

Because of the relative physical stillness of the location, no centrifugal force or precessional movement, it must have been very easy to observe the stars clearly. The pyramids are at an altitude of over 9,000 ft.  From here you can see Cayambe (more on this in a second), Quito and virtually all of the major volcanoes in the region. The site was the capital of the people who lived in the area and the most important period of the years from what I was able to understand was the Spring Equinox.

The llamas in the photos are part of a herd of lamas that was grazing there.

ecuador-pyramids

This is a photo of one of the larger pyramids.

I was curious about the meaning of Cochasqui as there is no lake nearby at all. in Quichua, the indigenous language, Cocha means lake. I have sent out photos before of Cuicocha, the lake of the gods which is near here, about 20 minutes away.

The word Cocha is contained in the name Cochasqui. Yet there is no lake at Cochasqui.  It means the Lake of the Stars.  From here you can see the ocean of the sky.  So it means the Lake of the Stars brought here to earth. For an astrologer this is a bit like coming home.

I have yet to get to Cayambe which is very close by as well. You can see why this place is so sacred,  About 40 minutes from here, perhaps midway between Cotacachi and Cochasqui, is a place called Cayambe. Here at this spot you can see all of the stars of the northern and southern hemispheres simultaneously.  It gets cloudy at night so far so I have not been but if there is a clear night I will go for sure.
So, literally, a very heavenly place
.

Hemingway’s Secret

Here’s a great Christmas gift idea.  You can give Hemingway’s secret of success.

hemmingway

Was Ernest Hemingway’s secret to success being able to write in English or Spanish?

‪There may have been many reasons why Hemingway liked Cuba but he already had access to most of them in Key West.  Why go the extra 104.91 miles to Cuba?

Perhaps he knew that speaking a second language makes you smarter.  Perhaps he realized that he could think and write better in English when one learns Spanish.   In 1939 he moved to Cuba and wrote “For Whom the Bell Tolls” which  became a Book-of-the-Month Club choice.  The book sold half a million copies almost instantly, was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize, and cemented Hemingway’s reputation as one of the great writers in the English language… at a time when he was speaking two languages.

You can be be smarter and incidentally… provide a Christmas gift and save $178.90 in the process.

This offer makes a great Christmas gift.  I’ll explain how in a moment.

You might ask… “What the heck does speaking Spanish have to do with being more successful.

Well… to start, being smarter means you gain greater intellect.  You can be smarter with Super Thinking.   Super Thinking tactics integrate brain waves so absorption, retention and recollection of  information improve… a lot.   Most important of all, Super Thinking helps you synthesize what you learn so you can connect dots and use the knowledge you gain to achieve your goals.

In short, Super Thinking makes you smarter.. a lot!

Super Thinking is not a gimmick nor a trick. At least three best selling books, Superlearning, the Mozart Effect and Superlearning 2000 have revealed insights about how we can learn and think more powerfully based on systems drawn from the Bulgarian master, Dr. Georgi Lozanov.  Merri was among those few who learned how and is licensed to teach the Lozanov system.  She has organized a practical course on how to learn faster and better.  With her modified system, you discover how to think more powerfully in just three days…and experience the wonders of superlearning.

When I figured this out, my first thought was… “Why not help readers learn Super Thinking AND Spanish?”  There and then was a two for one deal.

Enroll for our Online Super Spanish Course and you gain a the Super Thinking Workshop for Greater Intelligence workshop (a $49.95 value) FREE.

We will also deliver both the Spanish course and the workshop to someone of your choice by email on Christmas morning or Christmas Eve.

You save $178.90 total!

Still you ask… “Why Spanish for greater intellect and success?

Spanish is the second most spoken romantic language.  Chances are a huge Spanish speaking population lives near you.  Speaking Spanish can be helpful in innumerable ways just from this fact.

There is more.  Learning a second language makes you smarter and healthier.

Image from Telegraph article “Why learn a foreign language? Benefits of bilingualism”. (2)

The Telegraph article (linked below) entitled “Why learn a foreign language? Benefits of bilingualism says (bolds are mine):  Learning a foreign language is more than just a boost to your CV or handy for travelling. It will make you smarter, more decisive and even better at English, says Anne Merritt.

Physiological studies have found that speaking two or more languages is a great asset to the cognitive process. The brains of bilingual people operate differently than single language speakers, and these differences offer several mental benefits.

You can read the entire article at the link below but to sum it up it shows seven ways that learning a second language improves your intellect and health:

* You build multitasking skills

* You stave off Alzheimer’s and dementia

* Your memory improves

* You become more perceptive

* You become smarter

* Your decision-making skills improve

* You improve your English

A better command of English… used by a smarter, more perceptive person who can remember details and multi task.

With this. I rest Hemingway’s case.

The Super Thinking Workshop can help you join the top 3 percent of intelligent people in the world.

Be happier as you become smarter.

A study of 10,000 British people studied the pure relationship between intelligence and happiness stability.

IQ can predict the emotional ups and downs of life.   The research found that the lower the IQ,  the higher the ups and downs in life satisfaction.  The differences were not due to education, income, or jobs either, but simply IQ.

Delegates at a Super Thinking course relaxing in their secret rose garden.

Become smarter, healthier, happier… in just weeks… hearing  a relaxation session that takes you into your secret rose garden.

Merri, David and I originally developed this session for our Super Thinking courses and have set it into an online workshop for you.

Listen… just 18 minutes day.  We guarantee your life will be better.

Inflate Your IQ.

When it comes to money… inflation is cheating.

That’s bad for you.

When it comes to intelligence… inflating is smart… fair… good for you and it’s good for the rest of the world.

Monetary inflation is a sneaky government and business trick.

What cost a dollar in 1965 can easily cost $15 now.

They promise you more.

Liars?

They devalue the currency so you get more dollars that buy less.  They can rip off your salary,  your pension…raise insurance, almost everything.

And they make you work harder… longer… for less.

Whittle, whittle, whittle.  Push, push, push.  That’s what monetary inflation does to you.

Fight back… overcome the inflation trick.  Inflate your IQ as you relax.

Gain more than IQ.

Be smarter… more energetic…. healthier.

That’s the way to get ahead!

Create more income opportunity.  Improve your health.  Be naturally smarter… use Super Thinking.

You can improve your IQ in just weeks.

You might well ask… How is this possible?

Here’s how the scientists say it is possible.

A Wall Street Journal article entitled “Ways to Inflate Your IQ”(3)  show how you can be smarter and actually add matter to your brain.  The article says:

Many people think of IQ as a genetic trait, like brown eyes or short legs: You’re born with it and you’re stuck with it.

Now, a growing body of research is showing that a person’s IQ can rise—and even fall—over the years.

Scores can change gradually or quickly, after as little as a few weeks of cognitive training, research shows.

British students were given IQ tests and brain scans at ages 12 to 16 and again about four years later.  9% of the students showed a significant change of 15 points or more in IQ scores.

The study published in Nature said that on a scale where 90 to 110 is considered average, one student’s IQ rose 21 points to 128 from 107, lifting the student from the 68th percentile to the 97th compared with others the same age.

MRIs in this study showed changes in gray matter in areas corresponding to fluctuations in the kid’s skills.

There are practical steps people can take to see longer-term IQ changes.  New tasks stimulate the brain most.  Young adults given just one month of intense training in juggling, found an increase in the corresponding gray matter in the brain as early as seven days after the training began.

Fluctuations in IQ scores over time underscore the brain-boosting benefits of musical training and new experiences throughout a lifetime.

Music lessons are linked to higher IQ throughout life.  Six years’ lessons lifted children’s IQ scores an average 7.5 points.

Improve the brain through music… without lessons.

Here’s the Super Thinking story…

The educational program Merri and I developed uses a form of brain wave integration that increases IQ.

Super Thinking uses frequency (in music and a number of other ways) to integrate brain waves so the process of absorbing, processing and recalling information is vastly accelerated.  The music creates the three C’s:  Calm, Clarity and Coherence.

This Super Thinking program is not a gimmick or trick… just advanced education.

Certain types of Baroque music are the base, and they make you smarter!

Proof?

At least four best selling books, “Psychic Discoveries Behind the Iron Curtain”,  “Superlearning”, the “Mozart Effect” and “Superlearning 2000″ showed how to learn and think more powerfully based on systems drawn from the Bulgarian educational master, Dr. Georgi Lozanov.

This Baroque music tactic alone is so powerful that Small Business Innovation Research… an official site of the US government granted over $100,000 for the specific purpose they said was: to provide a method to remove barriers which hinder or prevent the employment of blind persons.  An innovative method, the Lozanov Learning System, is proposed to help train blind persons to become computer programmers and operators of automated equipment.

Merri was among just a few who learned this technique directly from Dr. Lozanov the time he visited the USA.

Our Super Thinking workshop enhanced this system with numerous other tactics.

We added slight alterations in nutrition that create a higher IQ.   Altered nutritional tips in Super Thinking can make anyone 25% smarter!

Baroque Music and nutrition are just part of seven, easy to use, learning techniques that make you smarter.

Gain any skill, from computers to athletics to conversational languages…in less time…two-to-five times faster.

Here’s a huge bonus.  Super Thinking also relieves stress.  Super Thinking is fun.

You can use a Super Thinking focus in everything:  health… earning… education… investing.

Super Thinking works on the learner first…the data second.  This system “grows the learner” rather than the information.

If you have 4.5 inches of information flowing through a 4 inch learning pipe, the solution is not to add another inch of information.  The answer is create a six inch IQ pipe!

Share our years of experience.

For nearly 50 years, Merri and I have conducted hundreds of courses and tours for tens of thousands, in dozens of countries (even behind the Iron Curtain).  Our Super Thinking Workshop has been one of the most profound.  Now the workshop is even better online because it condenses Super Thinking so you can increase your IQ, at home… right away.

The workshop shows how these mind expanding tactics can be applied to starting and running a business for extra income, to forex trading and investing.  Athletes of all types… golfing being one common sport benefit.  Our Super Thinking plan goes far beyond Lozanov and allows you to rapidly get smarter in every part of your life.

For example, real estate broker, Suzy Kurinsky took the workshop to help her learn Spanish.

She wrote: “You are the BEST!!! Your Seminar was fantastic! I am so excited. I had procrastinated fulfilling my continuing education for my Broker’s License and then just before my surgeries, I realized by expiration date isn’t Nov. 12th – it is Sept 12th. Super thinking can improve almost anything you do… faster, better, more fun and with less stress.

Another attendee to the Super Thinking Workshop sent this note.

Thank you for the wonderful workshop on Super Learning + Spanish!  I really enjoyed the workshop and getting to know you.   I can see several ways to apply what I learned in the classes I teach.

Since I returned home, I have purchased some of the CDs of Baroque music and thought about which specific pieces will work best in different parts of my classes.  I am also reading Perfect Health by Deepak Chopra.  I found your discussion of this book to be very helpful in showing how to balance one’s life.  I have adjusted my daily schedule, and I can already notice a difference in my productivity.

Super Thinking can help improve your health. Super Thinking can make you rich and add richness to your life.

However the time, travel expense and workshop cost (delegates have paid up to $999) have prohibited many from getting this benefit.

That’s why we have created the workshop in electronic form.  Get Super Thinking online for less than fifty bucks.

Relax in the Secret Rose Garden.

The workshop is divided into two parts.  Part one is the application… the sessions that tell you exactly what to do, what music to use and even includes two recorded sessions based around a secret rose garden that you can use.  We have kept this portion short and simple so you can easily start immediately.

Part two is a longer portion on theory.

Part one is enough.

Super Thinking is like jogging… giving results if you simply do it!

You do not have to know why Super Thinking works to increase your IQ.   But Part Two explains why you are getting the good results from Part One, if you want to know.

You might ask…”Will it work for me”?

The Super Thinking Workshop will help increase your IQ.

Another Super Thinking workshop attendee wrote: Listening to the two of you during our time together has suddenly got me to thinking, and although some of the ideas still seem foreign to me,  I am at a point in my life now where I can say, “anything is possible”.   I am now willing to embrace and allow myself to experience the world of possibility and let it take me in directions I may have in the past resisted.  I really don’t know where all this is going to lead me but I am now willing to explore, develop and grow.   Thank you again for a wonderful four days!!
