Spanish Medical Forms for Ecuador

Access to a Medical Spanish file could save your life when traveling in a Spanish speaking country.

There are many benefits in Ecuador’s health care system and you can learn about how to meet top Ecuador doctors in a moment.

First, here is an important tips about Ecuador’s medical care that could be a lifesaver for you.

Tip #1: The cost is low.   Some Ecuador hospitals are also free to all who show up including non-Ecuadorians.  The ambulance services are free as well.

Ecuador’s ambulance service even includes transfers to other hospitals or clinics, even as far away as 100 miles.

Cotacachi-health-services

The ambulance service offers fast response… important for those who are in Ecuador.

The ambulances are fully equipped.

P1010751

Ecuador offers many health benefits but one needs to plan ahead.

Take the Cotacachi hospital as an example.  This medical care facility is funded by the Ministry of Health based in Quito and as such ALL services are free. This is quite remarkable in a supposedly “third world country” but the reality is that Ecuador better fits the description of an “emerging country”.

There are doctors providing consultations to the local citizens, a specialist children’s doctor. Services include vaccinations, pregnancy care and general medical practice.

There are four emergency doctors who treat burns and injuries from accidents and also an operating theater with a general surgeon.

P1010746

One American guest at our Inn Land of the Sun suffered a heart attack in the middle of the night.  The ambulance rushed him to Cotacachi hospital where he was stabilized. Then he was sent to Ibarra which has a more sophisticated cardiology unit.  After remaining there for several days, he was taken to a Quito hospital for a full recovery.

A couple of years later the same person had another heart attack at his home in Atlanta.  He wrote to me that he was returning to Ecuador because if he had a third cardiac attack Ecuador was where he wanted to be.  His explanation is not just the difference in the cost though. His cost in Ecuador was less than the cost of the toilet paper he used in the US hospital.   He also felt that the big difference was in the way he was treated by the people. In the US he said he felt  “like a piece of meat being processed through a system”.

In Ecuador he felt that the people cared and were concerned with him as an individual.

Not everything is free but prices are so much lower than in the USA.

When we first arrived in Ecuador we spent some time with an American MD who practiced medicine in Quito.  His main message was that one can get all the same medical facilities in Quito that you can get in the USA and sometimes more.  However you have to know where to get them.  Unlike the USA where most hospitals have units for each aspect of medicine… Ecuador hospitals specialize.  If you have a medical condition that might need urgent care… you need to find out where that care will be available and figure out how to get there in advance.  Have those instructions in writing prepared in Spanish in advance.

Since a Spanish medical emergency kit is a good idea for travelers in Ecuador or any Spanish speaking country we have put together a small  Medical Spanish PDF file for our Ecuador Living Club members so they can  print and carry when they travel.

We are even suggesting that travelers highlight points in their medical history before they travel so if there is ever any emergency that data is available and easy to see.

The goal is to have a few simple words that will quickly direct medical personal to a problem area of the body.

This has been broken into several parts:

The Problem. This has words such as:  Broken:  roto – Accident: accidentado – Hurt:  doler – Feel:  sentir – Numbness: el adormecimiento – Balance: el equilibrio – Bee sting:  la picadura de abeja –  Burn: la quemadura –          Dog bite – la mordedura de perro

Medical History.   This has comments like:

Age;  la edad  – Anemia;   la anemia – Arthritis:  la artritis – Asthma:  el asma – Cardiac: cardíaco – Crohn’s disease: – la enfermedad de Crohn – Diabetes:– la diabetes –  Kidney stones: los cálculos en los riñones

Symptoms.  Some of the words are:  Agitation:  la agitación – Confusion:  la confusión –  Convulsion: la convulsión –Irregular heartbeat: los latidos cardíacos irregulares – Itch:  picar.

Requirements:  Here we have the words:  Ambulance:  la ambulancia –  Antibiotic:  el antibiótico – Doctor: el médico

Body Parts:  These words act as directors to the problem area.   Arm: el brazo  – Back:  la espalda – Bladder: la vejiga – Ear:  la oreja

Foot: el pie  Hand: la mano  – Head: – la cabeza – Knee: – la rodilla

We have consulted with a US board certified MD to include the most common questions an emergency doctor would ask.  Of all the time I have spent, finding and creating Ecuador information for readers, I hope this is the most wasted… hoping  it will never be used.   However when a medical emergency creates a time sensitive life or death situation access to such a Medical Spanish form may be a lifesaver.

You can create your own 173 word Spanish medical form from the Medical Spanish dictionary or get the kit we have prepared in easy to print format as an Ecuador Living Club member.

Ecuador Export Review

Ecuador Export Business Idea

Live anywhere – Earn in Ecuador with an export business in Ecuador.

Create an Ecuador exports business with Roberto Ribadeneira’s Ecuador Export Tour.   Merri and I have worked with Roberto for nearly twenty years exporting many products.

You can arrange an individual tour designed especially for you.

Lake Quicocha near Cotacachi.

Visiting another country is great, but it is even better if you can do business while traveling!

Come to Ecuador and learn all about exports to the USA, Canada and Europe while visiting amazing places and earning money.

* You may be able to deduct part or all of this trip from your taxes.

* You can buy products to sell back home.

* You can learn about exporting from Ecuador to anywhere.

* You can even bring ideas to manufacture in Ecuador with great quality and competitive prices.

Coming to Ecuador not only won’t cost money but will make money for you.

Here is a note from Roberto Ribadeneira:

Let me share all the knowledge, contacts and products I have accumulated over decades of exporting.  Make your trip to Ecuador the beginning of a great business opportunity.

ecuador exports

Otavalo Market.  Learn about Tagua…a vegetable, sustainable, renewable ivory.

Let’s see some numbers.

ecuador exports

Tagua bracelet. Cost in Ecuador is $2.50 it is sold in the USA for at least $12.

Tagua necklace. Cost in Ecuador is $3, it is sold in the USA for at least $15.

Metal Bracelet. Cost in Ecuador is $1, it is sold in the USA for at least $10.

Shawl. Cost in Ecuador is $2.50, it is sold in the USA for at least $11.

Scarf.  Cost in Ecuador is $3.00 it is sold in the USA for at least $12.00.

ecuador exports

Alpaca Scarves.

These are just few examples of products that are inexpensive and have huge margins.  But there is also another plus; you can request specific improvements on those products.

But let’s go over some numbers and specific ideas.

1-    You want to sell a tagua bracelet to a University in Colorado, but everyone can do that, what they can’t do is sell a tagua bracelet with the University’s color. We can dye the tagua bracelet to match the University’s color, same goes for any other tagua designs and even for shawls and other textiles. If you make just $9 on each tagua bracelet and you sell 100 units, you are making $900 on 1 order.  And this is just 1 product, and this is just 1 University.  You can apply this idea to any education center in the USA.

2-    You see designs of leather products that you think could be made better, or different.  There is a niche market where you can sell them.  The manufacturers in Ecuador can make any design, on any color with major improvements over the original idea.  You can even request to put a logo and special details on the products.  We have a major company in the USA that wants our leather iPhone 6 cases, but they want them with their branding and specifications that other cases don’t have.  So we are making the leather cases exactly as they want them.  Margins on leather products are around 60% retail and 20% wholesale. Orders for medium size companies come in the hundreds, so you can make good money selling leather. Customers and myself have made thousands of dollars selling these products.

3-    Selling Roses to final customers is another amazing way of making money.  What I am doing right now is reaching to people that want to raise funds for specific projects and teaching them how to use roses for that.  On one specific program we are donating $20 to $40 on each box sold to a Water Project in Ecuador.  The response has been unbelievable, people enjoy the beauty of Roses from Ecuador but also contribute to a good cause at the same time.  Since there is no limit on quantity of flowers that you can sell, there is no limit on the number of people that you can involve in this idea.

Rose Farm Processing Facility.

4-    Selling wholesale. This is the main goal for the July course that I want you to take here in Ecuador.  If you find a store, a chain, a website or any other vendor that sells unique and cool products, you are in for a great business opportunity. Their orders are in the hundreds and even thousands of units.  Margins are lower, but since you are selling more, that compensates.  The nice thing about this part of the business is that these big companies are looking for different products, so if they buy 1 from you, there is a big chance that they will buy many, many others.  Remember that our manufacturers can make the products with the customer’s specifications, so there is no restriction on design that your buyer may want.

As you can see there are many ways in which you can make money while visiting Ecuador.  That is why I have designed an Ecuador Export Course that can be especially customized for you.

We work 3 full days together learning and searching for products that you could buy.  You and I will go over ideas, product designs, web design, shopping carts, SEO and other details on how to get as many customers as you can.

Leather Duffel Bags.

The course includes taking you to the manufacturers, sellers and export companies so you will have all the contact information that you need to move forward on your business.  There are dozens of manufacturers that make every type of product that you can imagine.  Most of them already work with big importers all over the world and have proved that the quality of their products is amazing.

If you would like to sell retail, I will also show you how to design a website, create products, a shopping cart, how to set up the system to charge your customers online and the basics of promoting it.

There are plenty of places to visit and ideas to explore. Among the places that you will visit while on the Export Tour are:
–    Quito
–    Otavalo
–    Peguche
–    Ibarra
–    Cotacachi
–    San Antonio de Pichincha

This is not just another course, this is THE COURSE. I don’t just teach you how to Import Products to the USA, I also work on the import-export business myself, which means that I have the experience and knowledge to give you ideas and solutions.

Jewelry is one of many Ecuador exports.

Ecuador has evolved as an export center and I have expanded my export service to create custom export tours that fit your schedule and particular desires.

I arrange for you to meet the artists, designers, creators, craftsmen, wholesalers of products that suit your business ideals and arrange visits of workshops, homes and markets.

You can learn about exports as diverse as jewelry or wood products.

Ecuador has great art exports.

There are wonderful handmade crafts like the chess set below.

This tour goes to the high Andes.

You’ll see products from Zuleta where they create handmade “green” cotton-one-of-a-kind tableware, shirts, specialty items.

Here you see them in hand sewn embroidery from the village of Zuleta. In this Andean community near us hand embroidery has been an important form of artistic expression and adornment for centuries. Andean cultures have long boasted superior textiles, far surpassing those of Europe. The weavers of the Andes could produce material with as many as five hundred two-ply woolen wefts per inch compared to one hundred in Europe.

The women of Zuleta are renowned for unique hand embroidered designs and colors. Their styles are so unique they have become a form of cultural identification.

Flowers are popular in Otavalan sweaters as well.  Plus the ladies of Intag make flowers from plant fiber.

My main exports are flowers, but we send many products and have the Ecuadorshop Logistics Service to help you become an exporter.

Here is a Ecuador export business I arranged for a tour delegate who sold to the Texas Rangers.

Texas Ranger badge.

Almost everyone has heard of the Texas Rangers.  They are the oldest law enforcement body on the North American Continent and have helped bring in many famous criminals like John Wesley Hardin and Bonnie and Clyde.

We were really tickled to hear from a delegate of the Ecuador Export tours that he had sold hundreds of embossed Ecuador leather backpacks to the Texas Rangers and that was just the first order.

Here are some of the services we offer to help you export from Ecuador to the USA.

#1:    A US company.

#2:   A continuous bond, which has to be purchased each year to be eligible to register to import with the US Customs.

#3:   A broker who has a power of attorney authorizing them to handle your imports.

#4:   A US bank account to pay US customs department when taxes and duties are due.

Plus if you are selling direct to customers and accepting credit cards, you need:

#1:   A verifiable credit history and Social Security number.

#2:  A gateway company to process the charges.

#3:   A credit card merchant account.

#4: A certified, secure  shopping cart.

#5:  An annual PCI compliance review and certification

#6:  An EIN number provided by the IRS

#7:  A sales number issued by the state of Florida.

#8: A Physical US address (PO box not allowed).

#9:  Monthly accounting system.

#10: IRS annual sales report.

We can help you organize all these steps.

Our Ecuadorshop Logistics Service provides all these services for exporters.

There are two more very special benefits.

First, our logistics service can pay manufactures in Ecuador.

Second, our service can monitor production and quality and assure timely delivery.

Many people try to export and find really great products that they sell really well.   However once they return to the US they can’t restock unless they return to Ecuador.  If they do reorder but are not present for delivery, they are at the mercy of the manufacturer… which creates a huge quality control problem.  These importers get whatever suppliers here send them.

Many don’t even try to reorder.  They don’t know how.  They don’t want to wire  money without seeing the product and being are of delivery.

Many others just have no idea or find that the income is not worth the time, effort and cost of all the red tape.

The good news is that I do not get in-between the importer and buyer either.  I set a price for my service and the importer knows his product cost.

Our service is provided for a set fee so the importer knows all costs and can price his product accordingly.

This is a great service that provides every detail for importing products into the USA.   We have used this logistics service ourselves for years.  One big benefit is that the service can send each product direct to the buyer in the USA.  We sell Ecuador roses… charge the customer and deliver the order to our logistics service.   Everything else is handled by the service.   The  tracking notice and the roses are delivered direct to the buyer.  The logistics service then charges our credit card and pays the supplier… so no money has to be wired to Ecuador.

The Ecuadorshop Logistics service makes large and medium scale Ecuador exporting possible.   Exporting can be fun and fulfilling as well as profitable.  Improved technology continually makes having your own global micro business easier if you have support.

Wood Carver in San Antonio de Ibarra.

Come to Ecuador and make extra income while learning about global trade and expanding your possibilities.

Ecuador has amazing products that are unique and very affordable.  This makes them more attractive and more lucrative.  Additional to this you don’t need to make thousands of items to get a good deal. In Ecuador most products are hand made, which means that specifications and quantities match what the customer needs.

Have a great experience in Ecuador while doing business. You will learn about Ecuador, the products and the people.

In addition to help the success of your export business Gary & Merri Scott are giving each course attendee their online course “Tangled Web How to Have an Internet Business”.   This is a $299 online course that I asked the Scotts to provide to you free.

This course focuses on how to use modern technology to start and run or improve a global micro businesses… that can create valuable extra income with minimal investments of time and capital.

You gain the secrets of how you can use words to create your own global income… whether you travel or stay at home.

The Sixth P is the Prospecting Path and Seventh P is the Presentation to create income.

You can gain all the facts on how to use the seven Ps to create internet sales.  The internet can support your Ecuador Export business.

Meet Ecuador MDs

On the upcoming Ecuador medical tour you will meet Ecuador MDs.

Jorge Gabela, MD will lead the medical direction of this tour.

Ecuador MD

Dr. Gabela in Quito Ecuador office.

Jorge Gabela is highly recommended locally and is the doctor that the American Embassy in Quito calls when medical assistance is required.  He was on notice when Hillary Clinton visited Ecuador as Secretary of State. He was the doctor who would have assisted her in case of a medical need.

On one trip to Ecuador, Merri fell and dislocated her arm.  Here is what I wrote at the time.

“Everything about this experience was wonderful (as much as a trip to the emergency room can be) from the many people who stopped in the streets genuinely offering help to her, the very understanding taxi driver, rushing wrong ways down streets, taking every short cut, sympathetic and determined to get us there fast.

quito ecuador hospital

Metropolitano Hospital Quito Ecuador

“At Metropolitano Hospital things really excelled. The doctor met us at the car. The emergency room was calm. Nurses and doctors took immediate action, treated us all gently, letting all of us in the treatment room, discussing what had happened, what was going on, how they would help.

“The dislocation was severe. She did not want to have any drugs or be put to sleep, so they called their top specialist. He was in the middle of Sunday lunch in the country but rushed right down (and stayed three hours to make sure, after the final X rays that everything was okay). Dr. Xavier Ramos, an Orthopedic Surgeon, had studied at the University of Madrid and spent 10 years resetting bones without any anesthesia, so quickly, confidently and easily relocated the elbow without once asking her to change her mind and accept the drugs.

“Not once until the ordeal was over did anyone mention costs, who or how we were going to pay. The bill for the emergency room, two emergency room doctors, the cast, six X rays, blood tests and miscellany came to a paltry $47.82. The specialist’s afternoon cost $100.

“There was no push, brusqueness or intimidation felt. We were all treated with courtesy, respect and the whole family was involved, informed and welcomed through the entire process. This helped Merri and me know and think it was good for us too, being there and not worrying in the waiting room. Even more surprising were our Ecuadorian friends who showed up to drive us back to the hotel. How they found out is a mystery still, but the ride so warming, making us feel at home.

“What is the price for this genuine sweetness, respect for the patient’s wishes and gentle care? This is something money cannot buy.”

I enjoyed the savings from the low Ecuador medical costs yes… but it was the quality that won our hearts.

Roberto Ribadeneira, head of the Ateam Ecuador, agrees as he reports on the Ecuador MDs you’ll be meeting at the upcoming Ecuador medical tour.

Ecuador Medical Quality

by Roberto Ribadeneira

Many people are asking important questions about Ecuador medical services but more than anything, they ask “How much can we save?”

Saving is only part of the equation.   The quality of the service, the experience of the doctor and the references they provide are as important or even more.

Taking that into account we have been able to get top doctors in Quito who provide affordable services.  This combined with the fact that you can also save a lot of money by buying your prescription medicines in Ecuador, some at a quarter of the price in the USA adds up to quality care at an affordable price.

For example one  Ecuador MD delegates will meet on the November Medical Tour is Jorge Gabela MD who practiced for ten years in California before returning to Quito.

ScEcuador MD

Dr. Jorge Gabela talking about his medical experience in California.

His resume is very extensive so I am just going to highlight the most important things, but you can always request the full information.

He is a member of the American College of Physicians, Society of Adolescent Medicine. He studied in Ecuador at Hospital Eugenio Espejo from 1973 to 1980. Has an MD degree (Physician and Surgeon) at Universidad Central del Ecuador. From 1983-84 Medical licensing examination in California. From 1984 to 1987 Internal Medicine Internship and Residency, Bridgeport Hospital, affiliated with Yale University/Yale-New Haven Hospital. Bridgeport, CT.

Also Fellow in Adolescent Medicine, University Medical Center, University of Arizona. Kaiser Permanente, Staff Physician, Internal Medicine, Harbor City in California.

He practiced in the USA in California until he came to Ecuador in 2007 for his private practice. In 2010 he started working at one of the most prestigious universities in Ecuador, Universidad San Francisco de Quito, where he still works and is the current Director of Global Health.

What is great about Jorge is that he knows how the USA health system works. He knows how to treat patients from abroad and he works with diplomats and is recommended by the USA Embassy.

Dr. Gabela’s help is crucial because he understands how the system works both in the USA and Ecuador.

Dr. Gabela has many years of experience in Ecuador and is licensed to practice Medicine in California and Florida.

This is an important factor in the medical tour because having worked in the USA for many years, Dr. Gabela knows what information will serve both – our Ecuadorian doctors on the tour that is also useful to USA doctors.  He understands exactly what tour members will need and what information he needs from them.

For example the doctor explained that some medicine used in the USA is not available in Ecuador and that some of the replacements are not as good.  Yet he knows that many medications are exactly the same as in the USA and  are far less expensive which can represent a significant reduction in health care costs.

We have had great conversations of what we want to achieve with our medical tours and he really likes the idea of helping people. He is well aware of how difficult it is for patients in the USA to get affordable prices when it comes to health care.

Ecuador MD

Dr. Gabela’s examination room.

Jorge looks forward to working with our group, as he believes he can help delegates have access to great doctors and excellent health care in Ecuador at an affordable price.

Ecuador MD

Medical Equipment

On the tour, Dr. Gabela will treat each individual according to his or her needs.  In some cases he’ll be treating existing symptoms.  Others may just need an exam to reconfirm their good health.

Dr. Gabela asks delegates to provide their medical records and/or questions as early as possible if they choose so he can arrange any specialist needs in advance and can estimate the costs and the time that it will take to treat each patient.

The Medical Tour is to coordinate the trip so from the minute you arrive so that everything is in order to get the best results as fast as possible.

The Medical Tour provides you with a chance to get better care for less as you enjoy the wonders of visiting our great country on the equator.  We look forward to serving you.

I arrange for you to meet the artists, designers, creators, craftsmen, wholesalers of products that suit your business ideals and arrange visits of workshops, homes and markets.

You can learn about exports as diverse as jewelry or wood products.

Ecuador has great art exports.

Natural Detox for Better Health & Energy

There are may ways to attain a natural detox for better health & energy.

Ecuador healers are fanatical about detoxing.  They use morning mists… walk in wet grass…. many teas… and baths… melon and squash.  Plus the Andeans have many water purification ceremonies.

Autumn has definitely arrived in the Blue Ridge and this season, along with spring are the most important times for detox and purification.

Blue-Ridge-Autumn

John Douillard writes about this at his lifespa.com website.

Nature’s Natural Detox

Every spring and fall certain foods are harvested that naturally provoke a cleansing response in the body. Sadly, most of us eat the same foods 365 days of the year and miss out on this seasonal detoxification. Today – in a world that has become more toxic than ever – seasonal detoxification is required.

After a long winter of heavy, insulating, warming and holiday foods, the intestinal tract can become boggy and congested in the spring.  The hair-like villi become compromised at the end of winter and early spring because of these heavy foods.  These villi drain fat soluble toxins and nutrition off the gut wall into the lymph and blood stream.  Spring is a wet, rainy and muddy time of year that can add to the congestion of the intestinal tract, further bogging down the villi and stagnating the lymph drainage around the gut where 80% of the body’s immune system lives.

In the fall, after a long hot summer, similar imbalances occur in the digestive system. Because summer heat tends to dry the mucus membranes in the gut, they compensate by reactively producing excessive mucus which bogs down the villi and congests the lymph. The lymphatic system pulls toxins off of the intestinal lining and neutralizes them with white blood cells. Lymph vessels act as drains for the entire body. Without a lymphatic system, we wouldn’t have an immune system and would be dead in 14 hours.  Therefore, optimal lymphatic flow is essential. Let’s look at how nature cares for this precious system.

Spring and fall harvested roots cleanse and pull toxic mucus off the gut wall and villi. Roots like dandelion, turmeric, goldenseal, oregon grape, ginger, fenugreek, phyllanthus and picorhiza are great intestinal villi mucus pullers.  At LifeSpa I use two formulas for this:  Liver Repair and Turmeric Plus.

In the fall, seasonal fruits like apples and pomegranates act as detoxifiers for the gut wall and villi. These and other fall harvested fruits are great lymph movers and help to de-stagnate the lymphatic system, which commonly becomes congested.

In the spring, shortly after the roots are harvested, the chlorophyll rich sprouts surface and the valleys turn fluorescent green. These spring greens provide the fertilizer to regrow the good bacteria on the intestinal villi. These good bacteria that line all the villi control the efficiency of digestion, assimilation and detoxification. Every spring and fall after the bitter roots remove excess mucus congestion in the gut, the greens – if eaten in abundance – will seed the villi with essential good bacteria and flush the lymphatic system.

Once the villi have been cleansed with roots and then fertilized with greens each spring and fall, nature moves to cleanse the lymph that surrounds the outside of the gut wall. In the spring this is done with leafy greens, berries and cherries which are harvested towards the end of season.

In the fall the lymph is cleansed by more leafy greens, apples, pomegranates, and other seasonal fruit, as well as by beets, cranberries and assorted wild berries that are also fall harvested. The main herbs that I use for de-stagnating the lymphatic system are Manjistha and Red Root.

Each spring and fall, if these foods are eaten in abundance, a natural detoxification will result. Many of us however, like myself, never seem to get around to eating enough of these seasonal roots, greens, fruits and berries. So I detoxify twice a year with herbs and a cleanse to make sure I am not accumulating dangerous toxins in my lymph, liver and fat. Please don’t miss nature’s opportunity to detoxify each spring and fall.

Shamanic Cleansers

cleansing-tea

Ecuador shamans have taught us many cleansers. One is a great drink we serve at our Cotacachi hotel Inn Land of the Sun… alfalfa with mango.  Nutritious… and delicious!

Other detox foods are:

Watermelon.  Eat a whole one on an empty stomach… nothing to eat four hours before and after.

Pineapple. Eat a whole one alone also on an empty stomach.

Apples

Grapes

Cinnamon-sweet pepper tea (black cardomom).

Steam baths.

Virechana

We wake at dawn and take wonderful early morning walks when we are in Ecuador.  The village awakenings are natural and quiet.  Our inn sparkles (we have spiffed it up a lot) and is natural and clean as it shines in the rising sun.

ecuador-hotel

One detox comes from a plant that grows freely here and we see often on our walks, the castor bean! This always keeps me thinking about the multitude of natural healing benefits that come from castor oil.

Edgar Cayce was very involved in natural health awakenings and recommended the use of castor oil in many ways…most related to the body’s lymph system.

The lymph system drains toxins from the system and regulates the body’s immune system. Lymph moves through the system via muscular contractions, so a lack of exercise allows toxicity to build up in the breasts, skin, joints, and muscles.

A sluggish lymph system creates fatigue, exhaustion, skin conditions, sore throats, puffy hands and feet, and weight gain to name a few.

Castor oil can help eliminate fluid retention that creates swollen joints and pain, arthritis, sinus, tonsils and inner ear problems. Castor oil also helps mitigate colon, gallbladder and liver problems as it reduces cirrhosis, hepatitis, menstrual-related congestion and nerve inflammations such as sciatica and shingles.

A good Vedic physician told me that if I take a quarter teaspoon of castor oil a day for six months, on a full stomach, the swelling in my knuckles (too much pounding on the key board) would go away.

Castor oil packs can also help deal with conditions that stress or compromise the immune system.

One practice that permeates every healing practice, we have heard or seen from the Andeans, Amazonians, Tibetans, Indians, is that all have one form of cleansing or another. Castor oil is an ancient cleanser. This is one of the most horrible tasting, but most powerful digestive tract cleansings we have experienced and regularly use. This is an excellent tonic everyone should consider.

In Ayurved, the taking of castor oil on an empty stomach is called a virechana.

Many whom I have shared this natural awakenings tip with have told me tales of how their mom or grandmother used to make them take this when they were ill. A virechana does not have to wait for a health imbalance to begin. This technique can correct imbalances. To take a virechana, eat a light lunch, skip dinner or have a small snack and before going to bed to take the caster oil. I take (at 150 pounds) six teaspoons. Merri at 115 pounds takes four, but you may wish to start first time with less (one or so).

I take mine mixed in a bit of orange or lemon juice and try to just slug it down. Ugh! It is also easy to take a lemon and sink your teeth into it and soon as it is down. This helps. You may wish to begin on the lighter side rather than heavier and don’t do until you have a night when you do not have to sleep through. Chances are (though not always) you will be up at least once in the night.

A normal awakening after this cleansing leaves us feeling natural, much lighter and brighter, full of energy. Yet sometimes we awake afterwards feeling very dull and loggy. We often try to take this on a night when the next day we can have an easy one. The day after the virechana we always eat very lightly, just juices or light easy to digest food. Always the next day we feel natural and wonderfully great!

Another help I find in this cleansing is they reduce my hunger. As a former fatty (I used to weigh 220 pounds), my weight seems to run away with me if I am not careful, so this has become a great weight control device for me.

Castor oil is a powerful cleanser and in another message we will look at its entirely different cleansing capacity when taken with meals.

The best castor oil to use is organic cold-pressed castor oil normally available in health food stores.

However, there is a second aspect that Edgar Cayce attributed to castor oil. He suggested that castor oil has a vibrational quality that helps harmonize and promote healing within body cells.

Autumn is here… enjoy the crisp air… the excitement that comes as the holiday season approaches and the energy of this special season with detoxes large or small.

Longevity in Business

Longevity formulas are not secret.

But I’ll share one idea that can help you health, wealth and longevity in a moment.

Recent messages have looked at new developments in formulas for longevity. We have been studying the economic potential of investing in companies that are developing new ways to enhance longevity.

However there is one powerful approach to a longer, better life that is already known and scientifically proven…calorie reduction.

One proponent of this approach was longevity scientist, Dr. Roy Walford, who argued that longevity can be significantly increased by a diet that contains all the required nutrients but about a third fewer calories. He passed in 2004 but his website continues.

He has even wrote the book, “The 120 Year Diet” and backed up his explanation with laboratory evidence – why he believed that the anti-aging diet can preserve one’s vital, productive years and extend the human life span to well beyond its present maximum. Walford’s other book, “The Anti-Aging Plan”, also includes 20 days of varied high-nutrition menus that contain fewer than 1,500 calories a day.

There have innumerable tests on many types of animals with differing rates of metabolism. These tests suggest that the human being wears out after processing somewhere in the region of 70 million calories. Burning these at a rate of 1,500 calories a day would have us living about 127 years. So a lifespan of 110 to 120 looks about right.

So what is wrong?

Why is the life expectancy in the U.S. (one of the richest countries in the world) only 75? In fact why is the life expectancy of Americans less than just about any other developed country?

My guess is… we simply eat too much. We just use up our calories too soon.

In other words eat less, live longer! And be happy.

The typical Western lifestyle is pretty illogical if one thinks about it.

We work so hard building financial security that we lose our good health and happiness. Instead of enjoying golden years, most people get lingering illness or even worse death, heart attacks, stress, diabetes, bad diet, cancer or an early death as the reward for all their hard work.

There appear to be three secrets to longevity.

Secret #1: a restricted diet with a reduced caloric intake. (which we just reviewed).

Secret #2: live with ritual! Those who live extraordinarily long lives seem to share this common trait. Whatever they do they do in moderation, in a very similar way and with great gusto. For example, if they drink an ounce of whiskey every day, at six, they do not do this at five some days and eight others. They do not have a half ounce one day and two another. They tend to have one ounce at six p.m.every day. This instills discipline, keeps life simple (very important) and allows the body to get used to doing whatever it is it has to do. Take Chris Mortensen one of the oldest documented men in the 1990s who at 113 said of his weekly cigar, “If you take my weekly cigar away from I am going to die”. The anticipation and ritual of whatever pleasure he received from this was far more life giving than the stress. The world’s oldest documented woman in the 1990s, Jeanne Clement, at age 122 drank cognac and ate a pound of chocolate a week (but never two).

Secret #3:  remain independent, challenged, active and needed. One of the most important features found in societies where residents are long lived is that old age is revered.

People at age 100, even 110 can still active and working!

Max Zimmer of Los Angeles came to the US from Austria in 1911 with only a two dollar bill. At age 103 he still had the same two-dollar bill and had built and still ran a multimillion-dollar business.

This is one reason why Merri and I focus on turning passions into profit! We help people develop their own small, global, independent business because this can bring freedom, fulfillment and a longer life.

Learn more about this at https://www.garyascott.com/catalog/international-business-made-ez

A longer life however is only one third of the formula. Let’s shoot for a healthier life and a smarter one!

Longevity goes hand in hand with better health.

One MD who specializes in anti aging points out that most centenarians seldom spend much time with doctors. When they finally get sick, they die quickly and with little expense. They depend on themselves to remain healthy not others.

Merri and like an occasional three day juice fast and usually don’t eat at night, having instead just boiled milk. We find that when we feel lethargic, out of sorts and heavy in heart, nothing boosts us faster.

There are numerous references to this simple power generator in all types of spiritual texts. One of my favorites comes from the 14th century poet Rumi (you can read some of his best poems in the book “The Essential Rumi — by Coleman Barks). He’s what Rumi said:

Fasting

There’s hidden sweetness in the stomach’s emptiness,We are lutes, no more no less. If the soundbox is stuffed full of anything, no music. If the brain and the belly are burning clean with fasting, every moment a new song comes out of the fire. The fog clears, and a new energy makes you run up the steps in front of you. Be emptier and cry like reed instruments cry. Emptier, write secrets with the reed pen. When you’re full of food and drink, an ugly metal statue sits where your spirit should. When you fast, good habits gather like friends who want to help. Fasting is Solomon’s ring. Don’t give in to illusion and lose your powers, but even if you have, if you’ve lost all will and control, they come back when you fast, like soldiers appearing out of the ground, pendants flying above them. A table descends to your tents, Jesus’ table. Expect to see it, when you fast, this table spread with other food, better than the broth of cabbages.

How explicit in such an awe inspiring way!

We do not have to rely on poetry as our entire guide either.

CALORIE RESTRICTION MAKES YOU SMARTER

A study in the Journal of the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology suggests that calorie reduction also protects brain cells from aging and improves brain function.

Scientists fed rats an unrestricted diet. Other rats were fed a diet with 40% fewer calories. The rats on an unrestricted diet had a 60% decrease in a protein that protects cells from injury, while the calorie-restricted rats experienced an increase in the protective protein and a decrease in DNA fragmentation (which is a good indicator of cell death).

Count this as one more health benefit from eating less.

If calorie restriction is not for you, there is evidence you can get the same benefits from short-term fasts. Try eating nothing for one day every couple of weeks.

Remember to drink plenty of water when you fast.

In short, if you eat less and better you will be smarter in business and investing as well as the important things of life.

Here’s a calorie saving trick. Eat your main meal at noon. Here is why.

The ancients believe that every day consists of two four hour air, water and fire cycles each.

2am to 6am:  Air Cycle. This is time to wake up. The mind is light active and this is a good time to think, multi task and learn.

6am to 10am: Water Cycle. Strength is increased. This is a good time to do physical activity.

10am to 2pm: Fire Cycle. This is the time for digestion. High noon is the best time for the main meal of the day.

2pm to 6pm: Air Cycle. The mind is light and active again. Study and do mental work.

6pm to 10pm: Fire cycle. If you eat a heavy evening meal, this cycle will digest it. However if your evening meal is early and light, this second fire cycle acts like an oven cleaner and burns up stresses and toxicities gained during the day.

10pm to 2am Water Cycle. Best time for deepest sleep.

Merri and I were working too hard.  Our health was out of balance.  The yatchak explained the body’s natural schedule that supports balance, health and well being.

The shamanic healer advised us to create a three part ritual.

First, eat a light early evening meal… very light.  Second, quit work in the evening fire cycle and change into relaxing clothes at that time. “You have to tell your body that you have quit work for the day,” he said.  Third, he taught us that it is important to be in bed before the 10pm fire cycle begins.

When we follow this ritual, we find that we awaken naturally easily around 4am to 5am… filled with energy and ready to work.

Seven P Secrets of Self Publishing

When you write, you can work anywhere.

gary-scott-image

Here I am working poolside in the winter, at our Florida farm.

gary scott

Here I am with our hound Ma, working during the summer at our North Carolina farm.

Learn how to earn everywhere, while living anywhere you choose.  I have been able to earn by writing in Hong Kong, England, the Isle of Man, Dominican Republic and Ecuador to name a few of the place I have lived.  Everywhere I have been… too numerous to share here, I have been able to work.

All I need is my laptop.

That’s all you need too… a laptop to be free!

Before computers, a pencil and pad did the job.

Freedom is just one benefit you can gain from writing.

Another benefit is income.   Writing has brought me both our farms, free and clear… plus a lot more.

Another good example of earning potential is my friend Hugh Howey.   He was working for $10 an hour in a book store when he self published his novel Wool, typing in a storage room during his lunch breaks.

Soon he was earning over $100,000 a month on Amazon.com.  This helped secure a six-figure book deal from Simon & Schuster, and an option for film by Ridley Scott, director of Blade Runner and Alien.

That’s what he’s doing now.

Hugh Howey

Sometimes Hugh and I get together at my  farm and play chess (he beats me badly).

Writers like High are great inspirations.

A couple of years ago Hugh  left Florida, and moved to South Africa.  He had a sailing catamaran built for him and now can sail the world while he continues to write.

Hugh explained it like this: And that’s the miracle of working as a writer: I can do it from anywhere and everywhere. The past few years, I’ve done a lot of writing from airplanes and airports while on business trips abroad.  SAND was entirely written overseas while traveling through seven different countries; I think it’s a better story because of those inspirations.  In upcoming years, I may be writing near your home port.

Hugh’s a super star writer and his success could not happen to a more deserving and talented person.  He pours enormous energy into being worthy of his readership.  But you do not have to be a million dollar a year earner or a traveler to benefit from writing.

The good news is… you do not need a huge success to have a rich and fulfilled lifestyle.  Self Publishing can bring you a life that most people only dream of, as a journeyman writer, instead of a super star.

May I hastily add that the path to stardom begins as a journeyman… so the journeyman’s path brings success without stardom… but can also lead to stardom.

What most success stories like Hugh’s rarely explain is the many hours of writing that was devoted before their self published book sales soared.   Hugh, like most writers were journeymen first.  Stardom came later.

Here are sevens secrets that can help you become a journeyman writer.

The secrets are a writer’s armory of tools that allows almost anyone to create successful publications for income, freedom and fulfillment.

Take Merri’s and my publishing business as an example.

Merri and I are not writing stars.  We are journeymen who have for more than 40 years, year in and year out, earned solid income writing and self publishing dozens of publications about multiple subjects.

Some years that income has been more than solid… over a million dollars.  Yet in terms of stardom, we are hardly known.

In a moment you’ll see why that’s fine for us and probably will be for you too.

First some history.

Merri became involved in self publishing over 40 years ago… first helping a veterinarian publish a book on a very specific market… animal acupuncture. Then she showed a needle point artist how to sell more books to an even more specific audience… “needle point enthusiasts”  about her needle point work to an audience larger than the population of the city she lived in.  This led Merri to eventually become Executive Editor of an award winning magazine in Florida.

My story allowed Merri and me to work and live from Hong Kong to London to Europe to Eastern Europe, then the Caribbean and then Ecuador… making millions in the process of following our adventures… having fun… while helping a large readership adapt to a rapidly changing world.

That’s what self publishing can bring, profit, adventure and fulfillment, a great feeling of worth and wonder.

Self Publishing has created exactly the lifestyle we desire allowing us to span the world and work with meaning and purpose.

Self Publishing has become a new business art form.

The seven secrets can help you start your own self publishing business now.

Everything in publishing is new and exciting and changing.  Publishing is being recreated by the wonderful power of destructive technology.

Everything is new… except the seven secrets.

Change in the publishing industry is disturbing many.   We love this evolution due to these seven secrets we call the 7Ps.  The 7 Ps are so fundamental to writing and publishing that new technology enhances rather than reduces their power.

The First P is Passion.

Whatever your passion, you can immerse yourself in it AND create income with self publishing.  This can be your direct ticket to the kind of fulfillment you’ve always wanted.

Whether you want to travel the world or live as a recluse, work 12 hours a day or not work much at all,  you can set your schedule to succeed, if you’re willing to learn these seven secrets.

You can start part-time with any dream, passion, and budget.  Once you’ve created a product, you’ll enjoy the “multiple effect” of producing profits over and over again.

So the question is… What do you love to do?

What’s Your Passion:  An example is that thirty years ago, a client of Merri’s had a passion to help people who were in pain?  He published a series of pamphlets explaining various chiropractic disorders in very simple terms.  For example: “What Is Whiplash?”

The pamphlets contained solid information, but were simple 5″ x 7″ brochures with drawings and explanations. He sold them with a rack to chiropractors, who put them in their offices for patients to read.  These little self-published items sold year in and year out for decades.

There are thousands of ideas of this sort that can lead to big business.  It’s just a matter of defining and then acting on your passion.

Although I can work when I please and go where I wish, for me the most important reason for being a publisher is the satisfaction it brings.

I love the projects I take on, so work doesn’t feel like, well… work.

What do you love?  If you love golf, then you can write and sell publications about golf.  Love travel, fishing, dogs, dolls, or art?  Write and sell publications in these fields.

Are you concerned about crime, war, poverty or environmental issues?  You can publish information products that help reduce these concerns.

Would you like to help the world be a more spiritual place?  Publish a newsletter, write a book (or hire someone to write it for you), record a tape… publish something that enlightens people.

Whatever your passion, you can immerse yourself in it and earn income by publishing for ereaders, print on demand, CDs, lists, bound books, or any format you choose.

Be immersed in your passion and get paid well for it.

This is why stardom is not the main goal for most writers and self publishers.  Extra income, more freedom and fulfillment are usually more than enough enough.

The seven Ps are:

#1: Passion

#2: Problem

#3: Person

#4: Profitably Priced Product

#5: Prospecting Pathway

#6: Promise

#7: Presentation

The first time I exposed others to the secrets in Self Publishing was in a weekend “Writer’s Camp” seminar.  We offered the camp for $1,500. 80 delegates enrolled.  People from all walks of life attended—chiropractors, businessmen, investors, doctors, realtors, inventors, airline pilots, engineers, and housewives.

Merri and I were so overwhelmed by the response, we decided to make it available to a larger audience.  We created a written course based on our current self publishing activity called “Self Fulfilled – How to be a Self Publisher.”  Then we recorded the weekend “Writer’s Camp” seminar.

Thousands have used the course as it has evolved over the decades.

You can receive both the written course and the recorded weekend seminar, in an MP3 file, in a special “Live Well and Free Anywhere” program I am making available to you.  The normal fee is $299 for the written course and $299 for the recorded workshop.   I’ll send you both the course and the recorded workshop and my course “International Business Made EZ (also $299) all for $299.  You save $598.

We are so confident that you’ll gain from this offer that if you are not fully satisfied, simply email us within 60 days for a full refund .

These courses are not theoretical.  They describe, step-by-step, how Merri and I built a million-dollar international business and how we are running this self publishing business right now.   We use the 7Ps today just as we did four decades ago to create a strong annual income.

This correspondence course is for those who would like their own international self publishing micro business for fun and profit. If you want fun, freedom, extra income and fulfillment with your own full or part time writing or want to build your existing business, by writing to sell you can profit from this course.  The course can help who want their own business or who want to have a business together or a family business.  This is the perfect course for those who can no longer find employment, who are looking for ways to earn abroad and who wish to retire and supplement their income.

Whether you are retired, an investor, chiropractor, doctor, dentist, professional or already own your own business, this offers another way to make money, to turn your passion into profit. We guarantee that we have shared all we know to help you start and run your own international business.  Enjoy and live a life of following your Passion to Profit… through writing.

Here is a special offer.

We provide two emailed courses  “Self Fulfilled – How to Write to Sell and be a Self Publisher” and “International Business Made EZ”.

We include the “Self Fulfilled Writing and Self Publishing Course” because there are two reasons to write, when you have something to say or when you have something to sell.  In this day and age many of us want to do both, make a statement that makes the world a better place and earn something extra in the process.

Whatever your passion, however you do business, chances are you’ll be writing either to create a product or to sell a product.

You save more than $598 because you also receive a recorded webinar conducted by our webmaster David Cross (at no extra cost).

The Essential Oil Lady is Back

The essential oil lady is back… even stronger. This creates savings shown below.

During the summer I use essential oils to keep cool.

The essences of flowers and plants have been used in holistic healing traditions such as ayurveda for centuries. The sense of smell is the fastest acting, most powerful means of creating balance.

I use Lavender mist and a blend of Ylang Ylang, Lavender and peppermint.  They are perfect for me when feeling hot and bothered, or when temperatures are when its soaring outside.

I was concerned about my supply. Our friend Candace Newman who had supplied us with our essential oils for years had retired… I thought.

candace-essential-oils

Candace Newman… the Essential Oil Lady with Merri and me and an Ecuadorian Taita Yatchak at a fire ceremony at our North Carolina farm.

One of the ways I maintain my health and vitality balance is with essential oils. I use them almost every morning and evening.

For years Candace traveled with Merri and me to Ecuador and visited us at our North Carolina farm to study shamans and their use of these oils… known as aqua flora.

So we purchased all our oils from her and were a bit worried when last fall she announced her retirement.

Merri and I really stocked up at that time and were wondering what we would do when we ran out.

All of Candace’s formulas are handmade in the forest and mountains of Colorado, USA.  Her proprietary formulas were developed over the past 18 years of her Aromatherapy private practice.  The benefits for us have been many-fold so we and and other of her clients wanted to continue purchasing them because the the products had passed the test of time.  Her pure essential oils are gathered from around the world and are of the highest quality to insure their medicinal properties.

She uses no synthetic fragrances. Her blends are of the highest quality ingredients and her  formulas include base ingredients such as Organic Golden Jojoba, aloe and vegetable glycerin.

We wondered who would supply us as we had complete faith in Candace’s knowledge, reliability and  integrity to provide the purest of oils.

This is why I am so pleased to announce that Candace… the Oil Lady…is back in business.

After a sabbatical last winter, Candace recently wrote:  We offer you the benefits of these wonderful products to assist you in creating a continual increase in your total sense of well being. They are for external use and are a profound part of any wellness program.

There comes a time in life’s processes where in order to move forward, often one needs to stop, evaluate, make a course correction and move on. So our course correction is to go back to the company’s original name, and refine our formulas & product line to what the test of time & our customers’ purchases have shown us are most valuable.

We are delighted and have already ordered some more of her products as gifts.  All we give our children and family for birthdays, Christmas and such are flowers, massages and essential oils from Candace.

Candace has also improved and simplified her formulas. She wrote:

Many of you know our OLA Seven Massage Blends that were the result on my private practice. The past several years have shown us that perhaps we could serve you better with fewer blends.

In the name of “simple” … so we can help people receive the benefits of genuine essential oils blends with fewer bottles, we “distilled” our previous OLA 7 massage blends down to the NEW OLA Four Blends. These are blends with the purest of essential oils from around the world in 100% Organic Golden Jojoba. They are at a safe percentage for body and face massage, wonderful bath oils, and after shower blends. Each of the OLA Four Massage Blends has its own special “medicine and message”, and there will be times where each  one is just what we need at that time. The color chart gives the contents of each blend and lists their properties for use. They are as follows:

Soother:     Cedarwood, Geranium, Patchouli, Orange, Ylang Ylang

Balancer:     Lavender, Orange, Peppermint, Roman Chamomile,

Stimulator: Eucalyptus, Cypress, Lemon, Lavender, Rosemary

Comforter: Lavender, Rose otto, Frankincense

Each of these four blends is available individually in a healing cobalt glass bottle with pump top for home or office.

How We Can Serve You

How to Have Real Safety

garyheadshot

There are only three reasons why we should invest.  We invest for income.  We invest to resell our investments for more than we had invested.  We invest to make our world a better place.

We should not invest for fun, excitement or to get rich quick, or in a panic due to market corrections.

This is why the core Pi model portfolio (that forms the bulk of my own equity portfolio) consists of 19 shares and this position has not changed in over two years.  During these two years we have been steadily accumulating the same 19 shares and have not traded once.

The portfolio has done well in 2017, up 22.6%, better than the DJI Index.

motif

However one or even two year’s performance is not enough data to create a safe strategy.

The good value portfolio above is based entirely on good value financial information and mathematically based safety programs developed around models that date back 91 and 24 years.

The Pifolio is a theoretical portfolio of MSCI Country Benchmark Index ETFs that cover all the good value markets developed combining my 50 years of investing experience with study of the mathematical market value analysis of Keppler Asset Management and the mathematical trend analysis of Tradestops.com.

In my opinion, Keppler is one of the best market statisticians in the world.  Numerous very large fund managers, such as State Street Global Advisers, use his analysis to manage over $2.5 billion of funds.

The Pifolio analysis begins with Keppler who continually researches international major stock markets and compares their value based on current book to price, cash flow to price, earnings to price, average dividend yield, return on equity and cash flow return.  He compares each major stock market’s history.

Fwd: keppler

Michael Kepler CEO Keppler Asset Management.

Michael is a brilliant mathematician.  We have tracked his analysis for over 20 years.   He continually researches international major stock markets and compares their value based on current book to price, cash flow to price, earnings to price, average dividend yield, return on equity and cash flow return.  He compares each stock market’s history.  From this, he develops his Good Value Stock Market Strategy and rates each market as a Buy, Neutral or Sell market.  His analysis is rational, mathematical and does not cause worry about short term ups and downs.  Keppler’s strategy is to diversify into an equally weighted portfolio of the MSCI Indices of each BUY market.

This is an easy, simple and effective approach to zeroing in on value because little time, management and guesswork is required.  You are investing in a diversified portfolio of good value indices.

A BUY rating for an index does NOT imply that any stock in that country is an attractive investment, so you do not have to spend hours of research aimed at picking specific shares.  It is not appropriate or enough to instruct a stockbroker to simply select stocks in the BUY rated countries.  Investing in the index is like investing in all the shares in the index.  You save time because all you have to do is invest in the ETF to gain the profit potential of the entire market.

To achieve this goal of diversification the Pifolio consists of Country Index ETFs.

Country Index ETFs are similar to an index mutual fund but are shares normally traded on a major stock exchange that tracks an index of shares in a specific country.  ETFs do not try to beat the index they represent.  The management is passive and tries to emulate the performance of the index.

A country ETF provides diversification into a basket of equities in the country covered.  The expense ratios for most ETFs are lower than those of the average mutual fund as well so such ETFs provide diversification and cost efficiency.

Here is the Pifolio I personally use.

70% is diversified into Keppler’s good value (BUY rated) developed markets: Australia, Austria, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Norway, Singapore and the United Kingdom.

30% of the Pifolio is invested in Keppler’s good value (BUY rated) emerging markets: Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, the Czech Republic, South Korea, Malaysia and Taiwan.

The Pifolio consists of iShares ETFs that invested in each of the MSCI indicies of the good value BUY markets.

For example, the iShares MSCI Australia (symbol EWA) is a Country Index ETF that tracks the investment results the Morgan Stanley Capital Index MSCI Australia Index which is composed mainly of large cap and small cap stocks traded primarily on the Australian Stock Exchange mainly of companies in consumer staples, financials and materials. This ETF is non-diversified outside of Australia.

iShares is owned by Black Rock, Inc. the world’s largest asset manager with over $4 trillion in assets under management.

Pi uses math to reveal the best value markets then protects its positions using more math created by Richard Smith founder and CEO of Tradestops.com to track each share’s trend.

We use Smith’s  algorithms that calculate momentum of the good value markets.

dr richard smith

The Stock State Indicators at Tradestops.com act as a full life-cycle measure that indicates the health of each stock. They are designed to tell you at a glance exactly where any stock stands relative to Dr. Smith’s proprietary algorithms.

Kepppler’s analysis shows the value of markets.  The SSI signal indicates the current trend of each stock (performing well, or in a period of correction, or stopped out).

The SSI tells you one of five things:

Screen Shot 2017-08-08 at 6.51.59 AM

Screen Shot 2017-08-08 at 6.52.12 AM

Screen Shot 2017-08-08 at 6.52.22 AM

Akey component of the Stock State Indicator (SSI) system is momentum based on the latest 521 days of trading.  A stock changes from red to green in the SSI system only after it has already gone up a healthy amount and has started a solid uptrend.

How SSI Alerts Are Triggered

If the position has already moved more than its Volatility Quotient below a recent high, the SSI Stop Loss will trigger.  This is an indicator that the position has corrected more than what is normal for this stock.  It means to take caution.

Below is an example of how SSIs work.  This example shows the Developed Market Pifolio that we track at Tradestops.com.

tradestops

Equal Weight Good Value Developed Market Pifolio.

At the time this example was copied, all the ETFs in the Developed Market Pifolio (above) currently had a green SSI.

We do not know when the US market will fall.  We only do know that it will.  We also do not know if, when the US market corrects, global markets will follow or rise instead.

The fact that the Pifilios are invested in good value markets reduces long term risk.

Additional protection is added by using trailing stops based on the 521 day momentum of each stock in the Pifolio.

Take for example the graph below from our Tradestops account that shows the iShares MSCI United Kingdom ETF.  This ETF had a green SSI and a Volatility Index (VQ) of 13.26%.  This means the share can move 13.26% before there is a trend shift.

tradestops

iShares MSCI United Kingdom ETF (Symbol EWU)

Pi purchased the share at$31.26 and in this example the share was $34.43 and rising.  Tradestop’s algorithms suggested that if the price drops to $31.69 its momentum would have stopped and it would have shifted into trading sideways.   The stop loss price is currently $29.86.  If EWU continues to rise, both the yellow warning and the stop loss price will rise as well.

When the US stock market bull ends, know one knows for sure how long or how severe the correction will be.

When the bear arrives, what will happen to global and especially good value markets?

No  one knows the answer to this question.

What we do know is that the equally weighted, good value market Pifolios have the greatest potential long term and that math based trailing stops can be used to protect against a secular global stock market correction when it comes.

My fifty years of global investing experience helps take advantage of numerous long term cycles that are part of the universal math that affects all investments.

You also receive two special reports.

In the 1980s, a remarkable set of two economic circumstances helped anyone who spotted them become remarkably rich.  Some of my readers made enough to retire.  Others picked up 50% currency gains.  Then the cycle ended.  Warren Buffett explained the importance of this ending in a 1999 Fortune magazine interview.  He said:  Let me summarize what I’ve been saying about the stock market: I think it’s very hard to come up with a persuasive case that equities will over the next 17 years perform anything like—anything like—they’ve performed in the past 17!

I did well then, but always thought, “I should have invested more!”  Now those circumstances have come together and I am investing in them again.

The circumstances that created fortunes 30 years ago were an overvalued US market (compared to global markets) and an overvalued US dollar.  The two conditions are in place again!

30 years ago, the US dollar rose along with Wall Street.  Profits came quickly over three years.  Then the dollar dropped like a stone, by 51%  in just two years.  A repeat of this pattern is growing and could create up to 50% extra profit if we start using strong dollars to accumulate good value stock market ETFs in other currencies.

This is the most exciting opportunity I have seen since we started sending our reports on international investing ideas more than three decades ago.  The trends are so clear that I have created a short, but powerful report “Three Currency Patterns for 50% Profits or More.”   This report shows how to earn an extra 50% from currency shifts with even small investments.  I kept the report short and simple, but included links to 153 pages of  Good Value Stock Market research and Asset Allocation Analysis.

The report shows 20 good value investments and a really powerful tactic that shows the most effective and least expensive way to accumulate these bargains in large or even very small amounts (less than $5,000).  There is extra profit potential of at least 50% so the report is worth a lot.

This report sells for $29.95 but in this special offer, you receive the report, “Three Currency Patterns for 50% Profits or More” FREE when you subscribe to Pi.

Plus get the $39.95 report “The Platinum Dip 2018” free.

With investors watching global stock markets bounce up and down, many missed two really important profit generating events over the last two years.  The price of silver dipped below $14 an ounce as did shares of the iShares Silver ETF (SLV).   The second event is that the silver gold ratio hit 80, compared to a ratio of 230 only two years before.

In September 2015, I prepared a special report “Silver Dip 2015” about a silver speculation, leveraged with a British pound loan, that could increase the returns in a safe portfolio by as much as eight times.  The tactics described in that report generated 62.48% profit in just nine months.

I have updated this report and added how to use the Dip Strategy with platinum.   The “Platinum Dip 2018” report shares the latest in a series of long term lessons gained through 40 years of speculating and investing in precious metals.  I released the 2015 report, when the gold silver ratio slipped to 80.  The ratio has corrected and that profit has been taken and now a new precious metals dip has emerged.

I have prepared a new special report “Platinum Dip 2018” about a leveraged speculation that can increase the returns in a safe portfolio by as much as eight times.

You also learn from the Value Investing Seminar, our premier course, that we have been conducting for over 30 years.  Tens of thousands of delegates have paid up to $999 to attend.  Now you can join the seminar online FREE in this special offer.

This three day course is available in sessions that are 10 to 20 minutes long for easy, convenient learning.   You can listen to each session any time and as often as you desire.

The sooner you hear what I have to say about current markets, the better you’ll be able to cash in on perhaps the best investing opportunity since 1982.

seminars

Tens of thousands have paid up to $999 to attend.

In 2018 I celebrate my 52nd anniversary in the investing business and 50th year of writing about global investing.  Our reports and seminars have helped readers have better lives, with less stress yet make fortunes during up and down markets for decades.  This information is invaluable to investors large and small because even small amounts can easily be invested in the good value shares we cover in our seminar.

Stock and currency markets are cyclical.  These cycles create extra profit for value investors who invest when everyone else has the markets wrong.  One special seminar session looks at how to spot value from cycles.  Stocks rise from the cycle of war, productivity and demographics.  Cycles create recurring profits.  Economies and stock markets cycle up and down around every 15 to 20 years as shown in this graph.

stock-Charts

The effect of war cycles on the US Stock Market since 1906.

Bull and bear cycles are based on cycles of human interaction, war, technology and productivity.  Economic downturns can create war.

The chart above shows the war – stock market cycle.  Military struggles (like the Civil War, WWI, WWII and the Cold War: WW III) super charge inventiveness that creates new forms of productivity…the steam engine, the internal combustion engine,  production line processes, jet engines, TV, farming techniques, plastics, telephone, computer and lastly during the Cold War, the internet.  The military technology shifts to domestic use.  A boom is created that leads to excess.  Excess leads to correction. Correction creates an economic downturn and again to war.

Details in the online seminar include:

* How to easily buy global currencies, shares and bonds.

* Trading down and the benefits of investing in real estate in Small Town USA.  We will share why this breakout value is special and why we have been recommending good value real estate in this area since 2009.

* What’s up with gold and silver?  One session looks at my current position on gold and silver and asset protection.  We review the state of the precious metal markets and potential problems ahead for US dollars.  Learn how low interest rates eliminate  opportunity costs of diversification in precious metals and foreign currencies.

* How to improve safety and increase profit with leverage and staying power.  The seminar reveals Warren Buffett’s value investing strategy from research published at Yale University’s website.  This research shows that the stocks Buffet chooses are safe (with low beta and low volatility), cheap (value stocks with low price-to-book ratios), and high quality (stocks of companies that are profitable, stable, growing, and with high payout ratios). His big, extra profits come from leverage and staying power.  At times Buffet’s portfolio, as all value portfolios, has fallen, but he has been willing and able to wait long periods for the value to reveal itself and prices to recover.

keppler asset management chart

This chart based on a 45 year portfolio study shows that holding a diversified good value portfolio (based on a  good value strategy) for 13 month’s time, increases the probability of out performance to 70%.  However those who can hold the portfolio for five years gain a 88% probability of beating the bellwether in the market and after ten years the probability increases to 97.5%.

Time is your friend when you use a good value strategy.  The longer you can hold onto a well balanced good value portfolio, the better the odds of outstanding success.

Learn how much leverage to use.  Leverage is like medicine, the key is dose.  The best ratio is normally 1.6 to 1.  We’ll sum up the strategy; how to leverage cheap, safe, quality stocks and for what period of time based on the times and each individual’s circumstances.

Learn to plan in a way so you never run out of money.  The seminar also has a session on the importance of having and sticking to a plan.  See how success is dependent on conviction, wherewithal, and skill to operate with leverage and significant risk.  Learn a three point strategy based on my 50 years of investing experience combined with wisdom gained from some of the world’s best investment managers and economic mathematical scientists.

The online seminar also reveals  the results of a $80,000 share purchase cost test that found the least expensive way to invest in good value.  The keys to this portfolio are good value, low cost, minimal fuss and bother.  Plus a great savings of time.  Trading is minimal, usually not more than one or two shares are bought or sold in a year.  I wanted to find the very least expensive way to create and hold this portfolio so I performed this test.

I have good news about the cost of the seminar as well.   For almost three decades the seminar fee has been $799 for one or $999 for a couple. Tens of thousands paid this price, but online the seminar is $297.
