Routine Tips for Success Routines

Live with ritual.  My favorite writing ritual begins before dawn.  I rise early to do my meditation, sauna and yoga, get my cup of coffee and head for the back patio.  The dawn is not yet in bloom. There is just a faint hint of light over the tree line.  This is easier to do now that daylight savings time is in effect.  This keeps it darker later and the crickets and bird’s dawn chorus remain on standard time.

Dawn’s beginning in our back yard.

Writing begins with the rhythm of crickets. This accelerates as the birds add their harmony. By daylight my day’s work is often done.  This is a joyful routine that awakens me early filled with expectation and excitement. “What words will flow today?”

This type of ritual is good for writing and business. This is good for health as well.

Those who live extraordinarily long lives seem to share this common trait. Whatever they do, it is done in moderation, in a very similar way and with great gusto. For example, if they drink an ounce of whiskey every day, at six o clock, they do not do this at five some days and eight others. They do not have a half ounce one day and two another. They tend to have one ounce at six p.m. every day. This instills discipline, keeps life simple (very important) and allows the body to get used to doing whatever it has to do. Take Chris Mortensen one of the oldest documented men in the 1990s who at 113 said of his weekly cigar, “If you take my weekly cigar away from I am going to die”. The anticipation and ritual of whatever pleasure he received from this was far more life giving than the stress. The world’s oldest documented woman in the 1990s, Jeanne Clement, at age 122 drank cognac and ate a pound of chocolate a week (but never two).

How to Create a Routine

While in the Andes we lived in the shamanic way. Rising at 4:30 to start a busy day. First we began with prayers, then gentle and finally vigorous exercise. This part of the routine ended with a cold shower. The air and icy water at the 7000′ altitude were a brisk wake up!  Then we prayed again, ate breakfast, studied and worked until lunch. Again prayed, ate, studied. Then we prayed again, worked till dinner, prayed once more, ate dinner, had some social time and at a very early hour (8 to 8:30) prayed once more and went to bed. This was easy because we were isolated and had little to do other than our health and physical labor routine. We were living without electricity and were not connected with the outside world. Plus we had the direction, urging and support of the yatchak and his apprentices. I’m certainly not suggesting that this is the routine that anyone else should take… just that maintaining a health routine requires time and this is often at a premium when living in the busy, stress filled Western world. Here are some tips for creating a mental routine that will keep your exercise program moving forward.

Tip #1:  Remember that medicine is dose.  Less often works better.  Less that gets practiced is better than a lot that does not. If you are like me, if a routine takes too much time, is too boring or has too much pain, I won’t stick with it.  Better a simple plan that sticks.

The first measure of how much exercise to take is the amount you will stick with.  You are better to feel good about a 10 minute routine you do than a hard hour workout you regularly miss. My meditation and exercise routine in the morning takes a bit over one hour.  I know when I try to expand beyond that, my level of comfort… I’ll quit.  The little voice in my mind starts to worry about getting to work.  When this happens it creates thought patterns such as… “I’ll do it tomorrow” or “let’s skip the next portion… just for today”.  These patterns wear my determination down. Have a regular routine that you’ll stick with and enjoy.   Then once in awhile do a two week booster program where you temporarily add a longer program.  Or once or twice a week have a longer program. I take two days off a week, plus one day is a shorter program with 4 days being the full program.  This allows the thought… just two of these long days then I’ll have an easy one… or a day off.

Less can be better physically as well and mentally and emotionally.

A good example of  “too much” from a physical point of view can be glimpsed in a USA Today article “Swimming deaths trouble triathlon officials” by Frederick Dreier.  Here is an excerpt: Thirty-one athletes died during swim portion of triathlon between 2003 and 2011  There has been an uptick in the number of fatalities at triathlons, and the majority of deaths involve freak heart attacks during the swim. According to a recent study conducted by USA Triathlon, 12 deaths were recorded at U.S. triathlons in 2011, and nine of the victims died from heart attacks during the swim. Of the 45 total triathlon deaths between 2003 and 2011, 31 occurred from cardiac failure during the swim. Rob Urbach, CEO of USA Triathlon, said the number of deaths simply reflects the sport’s rapid growth. Between 2003 and 2011, annual participants in U.S. triathlons grew from 193,000 to almost a half-million. “We still feel the numbers are very low,” Urbach said. “There isn’t a pattern except they are happening in the water.”

When thinking about the overall joy in your life.  Look at the whole picture.  Will your disciplines and routines help you wake up feeling excited or kindle dread when you first awake? Would the time to run a triathlon or marathon help fulfill your highest purpose?  Would it improve your health? Years ago, I used to jog long distances daily.  Then I realized as I arose each morning I felt dread at the thought of pushing myself through these runs.  I stopped jogging and found other ways.  This chapter shares the exercise ritual that fills me with eagerness to get going.  This is less strenuous then my past routines but I do adhere to it and maybe it is even a healthier routine.

During the years we lived with an Andean Shaman he taught us how to attain the best value in our exercise.  He never talked much about it… just led us by example. When we were hiking in mountains… at high altitude and the incline was steep… he would simply take smaller, more frequent steps.  There is a sweet spot he told us, where minimal effort brings maximum return.

Seven P Secrets of Self Publishing

When you write, you can work anywhere.

Here I am working poolside in the winter, at our Florida farm.

gary scott

Here I am with our hound Ma, working during the summer at our North Carolina farm.

Learn how to earn everywhere, while living anywhere you choose.  I have been able to earn by writing in Hong Kong, England, the Isle of Man, Dominican Republic and Ecuador to name a few of the place I have lived.  Everywhere I have been… too numerous to share here, I have been able to work.

All I need is my laptop.

That’s all you need too… a laptop to be free!

Before computers, a pencil and pad did the job.

Freedom is just one benefit you can gain from writing.

Another benefit is income.   Writing has brought me both our farms, free and clear… plus a lot more.

Another good example of earning potential is my friend Hugh Howey.   He was working for $10 an hour in a book store when he self published his novel Wool, typing in a storage room during his lunch breaks.

Soon he was earning over $100,000 a month on Amazon.com.  This helped secure a six-figure book deal from Simon & Schuster, and an option for film by Ridley Scott, director of Blade Runner and Alien.

That’s what he’s doing now.

Hugh Howey

Hugh and I playing chess (he beats me badly).

Writers like High are great inspirations.

A couple of years ago Hugh  left Florida, and moved to South Africa.  He had a sailing catamaran built for him and now can sail the world while he continues to write.

Hugh explained it like this: And that’s the miracle of working as a writer: I can do it from anywhere and everywhere. The past few years, I’ve done a lot of writing from airplanes and airports while on business trips abroad.  SAND was entirely written overseas while traveling through seven different countries; I think it’s a better story because of those inspirations.  In upcoming years, I may be writing near your home port.

Hugh’s a super star writer and his success could not happen to a more deserving and talented person.  He pours enormous energy into being worthy of his readership.  But you do not have to be a million dollar a year earner or a traveler to benefit from writing.

The good news is… you do not need a huge success to have a rich and fulfilled lifestyle.  Self Publishing can bring you a life that most people only dream of, as a journeyman writer, instead of a super star.

May I hastily add that the path to stardom begins as a journeyman… so the journeyman’s path brings success without stardom… but can also lead to stardom.

What most success stories like Hugh’s rarely explain is the many hours of writing that was devoted before their self published book sales soared.   Hugh, like most writers were journeymen first.  Stardom came later.

Here are sevens secrets that can help you become a journeyman writer.

The secrets are a writer’s armory of tools that allows almost anyone to create successful publications for income, freedom and fulfillment.

Take Merri’s and my publishing business as an example.

Merri and I are not writing stars.  We are journeymen who have for more than 40 years, year in and year out, earned solid income writing and self publishing dozens of publications about multiple subjects.

Some years that income has been more than solid… over a million dollars.  Yet in terms of stardom, we are hardly known.

In a moment you’ll see why that’s fine for us and probably will be for you too.

First some history.

Merri became involved in self publishing over 40 years ago… first helping a veterinarian publish a book on a very specific market… animal acupuncture. Then she showed a needle point artist how to sell more books to an even more specific audience… “needle point enthusiasts”  about her needle point work to an audience larger than the population of the city she lived in.  This led Merri to eventually become Executive Editor of an award winning magazine in Florida.

My story allowed Merri and me to work and live from Hong Kong to London to Europe to Eastern Europe, then the Caribbean and then Ecuador… making millions in the process of following our adventures… having fun… while helping a large readership adapt to a rapidly changing world.

That’s what self publishing can bring, profit, adventure and fulfillment, a great feeling of worth and wonder.

Self Publishing has created exactly the lifestyle we desire allowing us to span the world and work with meaning and purpose.

Self Publishing has become a new business art form.

The seven secrets can help you start your own self publishing business now.

Everything in publishing is new and exciting and changing.  Publishing is being recreated by the wonderful power of destructive technology.

Everything is new… except the seven secrets.

Change in the publishing industry is disturbing many.   We love this evolution due to these seven secrets we call the 7Ps.  The 7 Ps are so fundamental to writing and publishing that new technology enhances rather than reduces their power.

The First P is Passion.

Whatever your passion, you can immerse yourself in it AND create income with self publishing.  This can be your direct ticket to the kind of fulfillment you’ve always wanted.

Whether you want to travel the world or live as a recluse, work 12 hours a day or not work much at all,  you can set your schedule to succeed, if you’re willing to learn these seven secrets.

You can start part-time with any dream, passion, and budget.  Once you’ve created a product, you’ll enjoy the “multiple effect” of producing profits over and over again.

So the question is… What do you love to do?

What’s Your Passion:  An example is that thirty years ago, a client of Merri’s had a passion to help people who were in pain?  He published a series of pamphlets explaining various chiropractic disorders in very simple terms.  For example: “What Is Whiplash?”

The pamphlets contained solid information, but were simple 5″ x 7″ brochures with drawings and explanations. He sold them with a rack to chiropractors, who put them in their offices for patients to read.  These little self-published items sold year in and year out for decades.

There are thousands of ideas of this sort that can lead to big business.  It’s just a matter of defining and then acting on your passion.

Although I can work when I please and go where I wish, for me the most important reason for being a publisher is the satisfaction it brings.

I love the projects I take on, so work doesn’t feel like, well… work.

What do you love?  If you love golf, then you can write and sell publications about golf.  Love travel, fishing, dogs, dolls, or art?  Write and sell publications in these fields.

Are you concerned about crime, war, poverty or environmental issues?  You can publish information products that help reduce these concerns.

Would you like to help the world be a more spiritual place?  Publish a newsletter, write a book (or hire someone to write it for you), record a tape… publish something that enlightens people.

Whatever your passion, you can immerse yourself in it and earn income by publishing for ereaders, print on demand, CDs, lists, bound books, or any format you choose.

Be immersed in your passion and get paid well for it.

This is why stardom is not the main goal for most writers and self publishers.  Extra income, more freedom and fulfillment are usually more than enough enough.

The seven Ps are:

#1: Passion

#2: Problem

#3: Person

#4: Profitably Priced Product

#5: Prospecting Pathway

#6: Promise

#7: Presentation

The first time I exposed others to the secrets in Self Publishing was in a weekend “Writer’s Camp” seminar.  We offered the camp for $1,500. 80 delegates enrolled.  People from all walks of life attended—chiropractors, businessmen, investors, doctors, realtors, inventors, airline pilots, engineers, and housewives.

Merri and I were so overwhelmed by the response, we decided to make it available to a larger audience.  We created a written course based on our current self publishing activity called “Self Fulfilled – How to be a Self Publisher.”  Then we recorded the weekend “Writer’s Camp” seminar.

Thousands have used the course as it has evolved over the decades.

You can receive both the written course and the recorded weekend seminar, in an MP3 file, in a special “Live Well and Free Anywhere” program I am making available to you.  The normal fee is $299 for the written course and $299 for the recorded workshop.   I’ll send you both the course and the recorded workshop and my course on how to expand the profits of what you write called “Eventful Business” (also $299) all for $299.  You save $598.

We are so confident that you’ll gain from this offer that if you are not fully satisfied, simply email us within 60 days for a full refund .

These courses are not theoretical.  They describe, step-by-step, how Merri and I built a million-dollar international business and how we are running this self publishing business right now.   We use the 7Ps today just as we did four decades ago to create a strong annual income.

This correspondence course is for those who would like their own international self publishing micro business for fun and profit. If you want fun, freedom, extra income and fulfillment with your own full or part time writing or want to build your existing business, by writing to sell you can profit from this course.  The course can help who want their own business or who want to have a business together or a family business.  This is the perfect course for those who can no longer find employment, who are looking for ways to earn abroad and who wish to retire and supplement their income.

Whether you are retired, an investor, chiropractor, doctor, dentist, professional or already own your own business, this offers another way to make money, to turn your passion into profit. We guarantee that we have shared all we know to help you start and run your own international business.  Enjoy and live a life of following your Passion to Profit… through writing.

The Power in Sound

There is incredible power in sound.

In fact there is so much power in sound that the power of one sound… Om… is now being researched.

Photo from Guardian article linked below.

Excerpts from an article in England’s Guardian Newspaper entitled “Improbable research: The repetitive physics of Om” tells us more when it says:

Indian scientists wield sophisticated mathematics to dissect and analyse the traditional meditation chanting sound ‘Om’

Two Indian scientists are wielding sophisticated mathematics to dissect and analyse the traditional meditation chanting sound “Om”. The Om team has published six monographs in academic journals. These plumb certain acoustic subtleties of Om, which these researchers say is “the divine sound”.
Om has many variations. In a study published in the International Journal of Computer Science and Network Security, the researchers explain: “It may be very fast, several cycles per second. Or it may be slower, several seconds for each cycling of [the] Om mantra. Or it might become extremely slow, with the mmmmmm sound continuing in the mind for much longer periods but still pulsing at that slow rate.

The important technical fact is that no matter what form of Om one chants at whatever speed, there is always a basic Omness to it.

Ajay Anil Gurjar and Siddharth A Ladhake published their first OM paper, Time-Frequency Analysis of Chanting Sanskrit Divine Sound “OM”, in 2008 in the International Journal of Computer Science and Network Security.

Ladhake is the principal at Sipna’s College of Engineering and Technology in Amravati, India. Gurjar is an assistant professor in that institution’s department of electronics and telecommunication. Both specialise in electronic signal processing.

They now sub-specialise in analysing the one very special signal.

In the introductory paper, Gurjar and Ladhake explain (in case there is someone unaware of the basics): “Om is a spiritual mantra, outstanding to fetch peace and calm. The entire psychological pressure and worldly thoughts are taken away by the chanting of Om mantra.”

No one has explained the biophysical processes that underlie this fetching of calm and taking away of thoughts. Gurjar and Ladhake’s time-frequency analysis is a tiny step along that hitherto little-taken branch of the path of enlightenment.

They apply a mathematical tool called wavelet transforms to a digital recording of a person chanting “Om”.

Merri and I experience the power of sound… every day…  we enjoy the benefits inherent in music and the sound Om.  This is why we developed our Super Thinking plus Spanish and Quantum Wealth courses… to use this power for greater health, wealth and fulfillment… 300% of life.

The power of music (frequencies in tune with the flow of nature) rests in the fact that music can create order out of chaos.

Yehudi Menuhin expressed the power of music in his book “Theme and Variations” this way: Music creates order out of chaos; for rhythm imposes unanimity upon the divergent, melody imposes continuity of the disjointed, and harmony imposes compatibility upon the incongruous.  Thus a confusion surrenders to order and noise to music, and as we through music attain that greater universal order which rests upon fundamental relationships of geometrical and mathematical proportion, direction is supplied to mere repetitious time, power to the multiplication of elements, and purpose to random association.

Sound… as seemingly as simple as OM… can deliver almost unimaginable power.

Many ancient cultures understood that music embodies within its tones, elements of the celestial order that govern the universe.

As in music, so in life. Audible sound, including music manifests from the most fundamentals vibrations that weave the universal tapestry.

One thread that weaves through this blanket of reality is OM.   Long before Western scientists began investigating music and sound in a scientific way, many wise philosophies and sciences were divined from the primal sound… expanding though mathematical grace to the point where an infinite unbounded intelligence could be glimpsed… and even used via the human form.

The Chinese for example believed that the primal sound is present in all things as a divine frequency.  This one unifying vibration then divides into twelve sub frequencies that could be measured.   This realization created astrology… the study of the Cosmic Tone.

Astrology is based on the twelve tomes… each extending a frequency influence everywhere.   This important mathematical study remains in many aspects of modern life… the twelve months of the year… the twenty four hours a day for example.

Many  ancient beliefs about sound… chants… music… are being restated by studies in numerous fields… quantum physics… medical research (see the studies of neurosurgeon Dr. Karl Pribram) and computer sciences as shown above.

What can the power in music do for us?  First, the power in music can help us be healthier.

Merri and I just returned from extensive physical exams and based on heart, lung and various organ capacities we are both said to be nearly 15 years younger biologically than chronologically.

I do not get very caught up in numbers like this but do believe that Merri’s and my substantial energy, enthusiasm and happiness and the fact that we have not needed an MD… or medication for any type of sickness in over 30 years, has a great deal to do with the fact that  we use music extensively to integrate our mind with our body.

For example just listening to certain baroque music can reduce blood pressure and heart beat.

Second, the power in music can help us be wealthier. Again and again, at times when stock markets seem at their best, I have been able to provide readers with investment warnings because I study market frequencies while listening to musical frequencies.  Using music to integrate brain waves and induce more holistic thought about society, economics and markets helps see through the dangerous noise of daily movement to spot upcoming realities.  This ability to defy the common knowledge… outwit trends… and not be swayed by the herd… so we can spot value creates the energy to generate everlasting wealth.

Third, the power in music can make us more intelligent. Actually a better way to describe this is to say that music helps our logic connect with and use the infinite wisdom that we are and already possess.

There is enormous power in sound and it is available to all of us… almost free. We can use sound and music for better health… increased wealth and fulfillment.   We hope that sounds good to you!

We are offering the power of sound in three ways we call the ABC of power learning:

#A: International Investing and Business plus Quantum Wealth seminar. The Quantum Wealth workshop in this seminar shows how to attain wealth continuously, effortlessly, in a fulfilling, enjoyable and positive way.  This workshop will help you stop worrying about money, bad governments, the falling dollar… inflation and all the future other horribles. Quantum Wealth reduces stress… improves health and helps income to flow from doing what you love.

Cotacachi is that it is known for…

ecuador music

music… as this sign at the entrance to its village square shows.

There are continual festivals in Cotacachi that celebrate with…

the power of music.

We have been incorporating the ideas of Quantum Health and Quantum Wealth into our courses and seminars for decades. The one day Quantum workshop solidifies this knowledge.

The foundation of Quantum Wealth is to integrate:

* Logic with intuition.  The benefit is increased prosperity from better adaptation to change.

* Desire with action.  The benefit is more enjoyment and fulfillment from life.

* Good health with everlasting wealth. The benefit is reduction of stress, more energy and feeling better.

Join us here, at our North Carolina home.

Bringing delegates to our home for an afternoon treat is an example of a quantum wealth benefit.

This is fun.

Delegates enjoy coming to our home during the “Quantum Wealth – International Business & Investing Seminars” Here is a group at our North Carolina home.

Yet there is more.  This process helps delegates hear, see and feel the authentic reality of the ideas we share.  We do not spout ivory tower, unattainable theory.  Our seminars share what we do… how we live… and how we have developed our lifestyle. Our mission is to help you see what we do, so you can blend our lessons into a lifestyle that is better… happier… richer…easier for you.

I have never heard of other seminars offering this… an integration of what we speak about with our actual “at home” lifestyle.

Here are the 21 main points we cover in our one day Quantum Wealth Workshop.

#1: Quantum mechanics & frequency how they all connect.

#2: Three aspects of being – air – fire – water… how to balance and integrate them.

#3: Three ways to integrate brain waves and be in the zone… 60 cycle sound… L- theanine and meditation.

#4: The Andean – Indian Connection. How Ayurved and Andean relate.  Three fundamentals of longevity. Eat right, work hard and sleep well. Nutrition, exercise and purpose.

#5: How dis-ease develops and is stopped.

#6: Nutritional goals: Improve digestion, avoid dis-ease here first.

#7: How to use cleansings. Melon, pineapple, apples-grapes, vareshna, chelating, cinnamon-sweet pepper tea, steam and mists.

#16: Deeper Digestion.

#17: How to use the senses, taste, six flavors.

#18: How to use color.

#19: How to use sound.

#2o: How to use essential oils.

#21: How to use music.

#B: How to gain Super Thinking abilities, increased intelligence and super thinking into our Super Thinking + Spanish Course for many years but now have added this to our international investing and business seminars to create quantum wealth. This course teaches how to listen to music for more energy, power, intellect better health and everlasting happiness and wealth.

Music helps integrate four categories of brainwaves, ranging from beta waves, the fastest of the four different brainwaves to alpha, theta and the final brainwave state, delta. Delta brainwaves are of the greatest amplitude and slowest frequency.  Deep dreamless sleep takes you down to the lowest frequency.

Merri and I listen to 60 beat, ten cycle classical music as we work.  We allow these waves to interconnect freely so gain unimaginable energy and an intellect that goes beyond ourselves as the music relaxes, enhances and opens our intuition.

The right types of music moves the mind into Alpha and even deeper states of knowing.

Health benefits are gained as blood pressure can drop, heart rates slow and the mind becomes calmed… and you become smarter.  You tap into your higher intelligence and are more likely to have… and  enjoy… success.

Super Thinking plus Spanish looks at how to use super thinking to tap into deeper intelligence and what to do with this intelligence in business, investing and life so you improve the way you absorb, retain, recall information and think forever. To prove the point you learn Spanish in just four days.

#C: “NAAD YOGA – REALIZING THE NATURE OF REALITY THROUGH SOUND.”   This two day workshop on  Vedic music teaches how to make music
for more energy, power, intellect better health and everlasting wealth.

Following in the footsteps of Confucius who said:

“Music produces a kind of pleasure which human nature cannot do without.”

“When music and courtesy are better understood and appreciated, there will be no war.”

We may not be able to end the outside wars.  We can use music to win our inner battles so we reduce stress… live ore happily and succeed regardless of external circumstance.

There you have it, three courses that can help you gain power, energy and a better life.
