Ecuador & Longevity #3

Ecuador & Longevity #3

Some Ecuador valleys are famous for longevity because where you live has an important impact on how long you live.

ecuador-longevity

Vilcabamba an Ecuador valley of longevity is beautiful and…

ecuador-longevity

these remote Ecuador valleys can offer healthy lifestyles.

How you live, regardless of where you are, has an even more important impact on longevity.

The two previous messages at this site, Ecuador & Longevity and Ecuador & Longevity #2 look at several secrets to long life and good sun health.

The most important thing I have learned about health, wealth, longevity and fulfillment is to turn your passion to profit.

Many people are so miserable at work that they would happily abandon their jobs if they had enough money to feel rich.

In reality, money is not richness or wealth. This requires a state of mind instead. One way to develop this everlasting wealth is to create a PIEC experience.

PIEC is an acronym for “Personal Income Earning Corridor.”  This is the personal concept Merri and I use.

Traditionally people get jobs to create income. They work to live and support their lifestyle while attempting to spend less than they earn. Maybe the savings will bring, some time in the future, a lifestyle of doing something enjoyable without work.

PIEC investors reverse the priorities. Instead of working for money to save and invest. They focus their prime effort on doing something they enjoy right now. Then they learn how to enjoy the effort in some profitable way. They learn to create “Avenues of Abundance” that combine lifestyle with the necessary task of accumulating wealth.

For example, if a PIEC investor loves golf; instead of working six days a week, 50 weeks a year just to golf on Sundays and during short vacations, instead he’ll create a business in some aspect of the golfing trade.

In another example, a client of mine, who loved animals became a vet. But he learned that the vet’s lifestyle was not one he enjoyed. He wanted to travel and move around, which is difficult for a professional who needs to stay at his office and build a practice. So he built a business that prepares special animal foods for race horses. Now he travels globally visiting horse breeders and makes much more money as well.

PIEC investors combine money with time, energy and desires. They generate income doing something desired. Desire and fulfillment become at least as, if not more, important as the money.

Doing What You Love!

The reason PIEC investing works well is that when we love to do something, we do it better, for longer and with greater enthusiasm.

These are wealth building attributes that cannot fail. Yet PIEC investing does not mean we should suddenly abandon our jobs and try becoming golf pros, when we have never been able to break 100. Smart PIECS often require a gradual approach.

When  you make the decision to do what you love, keep physical activity in mind.

For example, as a writer and lecturer, I was never fully satisfied sitting behind a desk or standing on a podium all day long, even though I was making over a million bucks a year. I’m the physical, outdoors type and yearned for exercise and the wilds of the deep woods. “What good’s the money if this isn’t fun or fulfilling?” I often asked myself.

Rather than quit writing and teaching, I looked for ways to combine these professions with the outdoor life.

Through research I learned that many like myself yearn to be in the primitive outdoors. We bought an isolated farm high in the Blue Ridge Mountains and an Andean plantation high in Ecuador where we live and work.

Being in the mountains allows me to combine my writing with physical walks in the woods and the outdoor physical work that a farm requires.

For example to help our Land of the Sun foundation carry out its work in the Andes we often visit the upper villages. Here we are with a work party.

ecuador-longevity

This work requires us to do a lot of this.

ecuador-longevity

Uphill from our home down there…

ecuador-longevity

next to the Cathedral… requires plenty of walking…. uphill.

ecuador-longevity

A PIEC lifestyle allows you to incorporate healthy habits into your wealth building process.  Take exercise for example.

Malcolm Gladwell points out in his book “Outliers, The Story of Success” that for work to be fulfilling it must offer:

#1: Meaning

#2: Autonomy

#3: Complexity

#4: A relation between effort and reward.

If physical labor can be incorporated into this mix… so much the better.

ecuador-longevity

Western expats playing tennis at Club Hacienda El Atillo, Resort & Spa in Vilcabamba may not have the same longevity as…

ecuador-longevity

these potato farmers we met on one of our Andean hikes uphill.

In Ecuador valleys of longevity there is no such thing as  exercise as we know it in the Western World.   Long lived people do not discipline themselves to pack up everyday and go to a gym.  Their days are filled with meaningful activity, like climbing  slopes to harvest food.  They do not have formal exercise, but rather a life full of activity that creates meaningful reward.

On our Blue Ridge farm… improving the land brings financial as well as physical rewards. Turning this…

ecuador-longevity

to this…

ecuador-longevity

requires a lot of this.

ecuador-longevity

Taking this…

ecuador-longevity

and making…

ecuador-longevity this, needs…

ecuador-longevity

plenty of this.

ecuador-longevity

The physical activity feels good… is good (in moderation) for the body and is enhanced by the financial rewards of seeing the land’s value increased…. plus the joy of the beauty and seeing our friends enjoy the land.

Our crops require…

ecuador-longevity

hauling bags of dirt…. seed… hoeing, digging and brings rewards like this…

ecuador-longevity

Wonderful flower displays…. seeds to eat, plant and sell.

If a lifestyle has so little activity that it requires regular trips to the gym to maintain physical integrity, the only real reward from the exercise is the ability to do well in the gym… or to survive unexpected activity.  Often the exercises are related to pain rather than pleasure.  This diminishes the effort.

Activity that requires physical labor and brings “other” rewards is more effective.  The other reward creates meaning.

For example, when I am in Ecuador taking photos is meaningful to me, compliments my writing and creates physical exercise.

Most days I try to walk up a mountain.

ecuador-longevity

Plus having meaningful work enhances our importance to the world and this is of extreme importance because in Ecuador’s longevity valleys,  aging is seen as a merit.   People are given more respect and valued more as they grow older.

It is said that the Vilcabamba residents look forward to getting older, to become more mature as a person…. so they can share their experience and wisdom with the community.

How you live, regardless of where you are, has important impact on longevity and living your life to its PIEC.  This can add years to your life and enhance your health and wealth. Keep life simple by enjoying your PIEC system.

Ecuador Sanctuary

Here is a shot taken from the front yard of our Ecuador sanctuary in the Andes.

andean-sanctuary

This land is part of a cloud forest and we are often truly above the clouds!

andean-sanctuary

Many valleys in Ecuador are famous for the longevity of the residents. Our search for such valleys led us to understand that we can use more than landscape to live better, richer and longer.

This article was written on May 2, 2009, on the 41st anniversary of starting my international business.  Yet I plan to keep writing and sharing information for 41 more years!

This was more than an idle boast.  The promise was made from a belief and understanding that  began to grow when we first arrived  in Ecuador and began searching for the longevity valleys there.

That longevity search an Ecuadorian  Taita Yatchak (Shaman of the highest learning) who told us there was an unoccupied valley with special healing powers.

He offered to take us there.  (More on why below).

Here is Merri and me with the Taita Yatchak after purifying in a sacred spring in preparation for the trip into the Ecuador longevity valley.

Ecuador-longevity

We invited friends and started our journey at 4:30 a.m.  hiking from 10,500 feet, to 14,000 feet. Here we are getting ready to go.

Ecuador-Longevity

After hours of climbing we descended 4,000 feet down a hidden, mud, animal trail for three hours into a virtually impenetrable cloud forest, ripped by thorns, cut by razor grass, soaked, and caked in mud.

Here we are ready to descend.

Ecuador-longevity

And here we are in the cloud forest during  the descent.

Ecuador-longevity

By the time we arrived in the valley, it was just minutes before dark. We were fatigued by the high altitude, bone weary from our packs, every muscle aching from fighting all day with the sucking mud (which had regularly pulled off our boots).

We stayed in a floorless, leaky thatch hut, sleeping on dirt, no heat except the cooking fire, no running water, no nothing. The next morning, to our surprise we all felt and looked  wonderful! Those who had been injured had no sign of the injuries. We explored the valley which is perpetually wrapped in mist and fog. We swam in small icy, deep blue lagoons and did ancient exercises while the Taita Yatchak talked with us. We were continually cold, wet, dirty and cramped-all 12 of us in this tiny hut with its earthen floor.

I cannot describe how we felt except to say none of us had ever had so much fun and had such a sense of well-being.

There is something about the valley I cannot yet explain. Even at times when we were really worried about some of the party who had gone into shock from fatigue, there was never a moment of regret.

We discovered a magical quality to this Sacred Valley and even over a decade and a half after our return have found powerful emotional and physical evolutions happening to all of us. Merri and I, along with the others, feel physically stronger, more alert, more positive, more active and yet more serene than ever before in our lives.

After this journey we purchased the 962 acre Hacienda Rosaspamba and lived and studied there for nearly a year with the Taita Yatchak and his apprentices.

Ecuador-longevity

Here is another shot at Rosaspamba of one of the yatchak’s apprentices.

Living in a healthy place like Rosaspamba can help longevity.  More important is the fact that one can have longevity anywhere.  We discovered this at our other sanctuary in the Blue Ridge Mountains where we also live.  The family cemetery on our farm has five headstones with people aged 86, 91, 95, 100 and 115 at death.

The 115 year old lived from 1794 to 1909. I  wonder what type of medical insurance she had… back here in these hills. Here is that cemetery.

Health-Savings-Longevity

Merri and I have studied global health secrets for decades and have lived with healing masters from China, Tibet, the Andes and India to learn that it is not only where you live.. but how you live that creates longevity.

ecuador-longevity

Mountain mists are important to longevity.  One Ecuador shaman taught us that the hydrogen ions in the mists bond with free radicals on the skin to cleanse the body from the outside in.

Longevity does not come from quadruple bypasses, pacemakers, chemo, radiation and all the modern drugs so many people use.

Up here in these mountains people in decades and centuries past labored, breathed clean air, drank pure water and ate fresh food. These were hardy mountain people who worked hard, had little, ate little and with that made the most. Life was simple and they kept it that way. Longevity was their reward.

Now is the time to be thinking about longevity.

Many of us work so hard to build financial security then lose it through lingering illness or even worse death, heart attacks – stress, diabetes -bad diet, cancer – over-aggression created by the effort.

ecuador-longevity

Good water is important to longevity. This is a mineral thermal springs near Cotacachi Ecuador that we visit for a soak on our Ecuador shamanic mingo tours.

Does this lifestyle make sense?

The answer, “No, it does not make sense” led Merri and me, many years ago, to sell our home in Old Naples, Florida, leave the stressful city and move here to our secluded Blue Ridge farm and Andean plantation.

We have learned that there are many simple secrets to longevity.  They are harder to use in busy cities.

Here are three secrets we gain from untold hours shared with clients and friends who are expert in all types of healing. These secrets come from years of experience with disciplines like acupuncture (when I first lived in Hong Kong) when they were still considered witchcraft in the Western world, and from our years of living with healers from India, Tibet and the Andes.

I share these as a layman, but one who has watched his weight melt from 220 to 150 pounds. They are shared by a 62 year old male with a pulse of 99 over 60 something and a resting heartbeat in the low 60s whose energy and stamina is high.

The secrets are not shared just to stop you from getting sick either. They are to help you have more stamina, vitality, energy, endurance as well as longevity so you can enjoy life more!

The first secret is not a secret at all, but a simple reality that most ignore.

Restrict your diet. Cut down your caloric intake. This is the only factor that I have studied that has been scientifically supported. Plus the residents in the three valleys where National Geographic documented extra longevity had caloric intakes ranging from 1,200 to 1,800 calories a day.

For example in Vilcabamba (one of Ecuador’s longevity valleys) over one person per thousand lived to be 100. In the U.S. the figure is one per 33,000! The average caloric intake in this valley (in the past) was about 1,200 calories a day.

Secret #2 is to have more than a routine.

Create ritual! Those who live extraordinarily long lives seem to share this common trait. Whatever they do they do in moderation, in a very similar way and with great gusto. For example, if they drink an ounce of whisky every day, at six o’ clock, they do not do this at five some days and eight others. They do not have a half ounce one day and two another. They tend to have one ounce at six p.m. every day. This instills discipline, keeps life simple (very important) and allows the body to get used to doing whatever it is it has to do. Take Chris Mortensen one of the oldest documented men in the 1990s who at 113 said of his weekly cigar, “If you take my weekly cigar away from I am going to die”. The anticipation and ritual of whatever pleasure he receives from this is far more life giving than the stress. The world’s oldest documented woman in the 1990s, Jeanne Clement, at age 122 drank cognac and ate a pound of chocolate a week (but never two).

Secret #3 is to remain independent, challenged, active and needed. One of the most important features that was found in every valley where people lived long lives was that old age was revered. Often people at age 100, even 110 are still active and working! Max Zimmer of Los Angeles came to the US from Austria in 1911 with only a two dollar bill. At age 103 he still had the same two-dollar bill and had built and still ran a multimillion-dollar business. One MD, who specializes in anti aging, points out that most centenarians seldom spend much time with doctors. When they finally get sick, they die quickly and with little expense. They depend on themselves to remain healthy not others. Having a good savings and investment plan for old age is also an important factor to remaining independent. Are any of these factors in your routine and plans? Most of us have to answer “no”.

This is why Merri and I moved to our farm in North Carolina and Ecuador and have worked at instilling these simple formulas (and many others) into our lives.

We live in a rapidly evolving, often frantic and polluted world. Escape from the crowds may help longevity a bit.  However escape from bad lifetsyle habits helps longevity even more.  Merri and I look forward to sharing the longevity habits we learn with you.

How We Can Serve You

How to Have Real Safety in 2020

The most important investment you can make in 2020, is in yourself.

Invest in more time.  Invest in less stress. Invest in greater security. That’s why four years ago we created the Purposeful Investing Course (PI) because when it comes to finances, there are only three reasons why we should invest.  We invest for income.  We invest to resell our investments for more than we had invested.  We invest to make our world a better place.

We should not invest for fun, excitement or to get rich quick, or in a panic due to market corrections.

The core model portfolio we teach in the PI Course rarely changes, but is highly diversified in thousands of shares around the world… so there is higher long term profits, less stress and greater safety.

The portfolio consists of 19 country ETFs.  During the four years since we created the Purposeful Investing Course and set up a $40,000 real time portfolio at Motif Brokers, we have held the same 19 shares and have only traded three times.

The portfolio started with $40,000 and has risen to $53,591 ($49,015 in shares and the balance in accumulated cash).

The portfolio did really well from 2015 to 2018, better than the DJI Index.  Then as the US dollar grew in strength it fell behind.

The chart below shows the actual results of thos portfolio compared with the S&P 500.

motif

This good value portfolio above is based entirely on good value financial information and mathematically based safety programs developed around investing models that date back 91 and 24 years.

The Pifolio is a theoretical portfolio of MSCI Country Benchmark Index ETFs that cover all the good value markets developed combining my 50 years of investing experience with study of the mathematical market value analysis of Keppler Asset Management.

In my opinion, Keppler is one of the best market statisticians in the world.  Numerous very large fund managers, such as State Street Global Advisers, use his analysis to manage over $2.5 billion of funds.

The Pifolio analysis begins with Keppler who continually researches international major stock markets and compares their value based on current book to price, cash flow to price, earnings to price, average dividend yield, return on equity and cash flow return.  He compares each major stock market’s history.

Fwd: keppler

Michael Kepler CEO Keppler Asset Management.

Michael is a brilliant mathematician.  We have tracked his analysis for over 20 years.   He continually researches international major stock markets and compares their value based on current book to price, cash flow to price, earnings to price, average dividend yield, return on equity and cash flow return.  He compares each stock market’s history.  From this, he develops his Good Value Stock Market Strategy and rates each market as a Buy, Neutral or Sell market.  His analysis is rational, mathematical and does not cause worry about short term ups and downs.  Keppler’s strategy is to diversify into an equally weighted portfolio of the MSCI Indices of each BUY market.

This is an easy, simple and effective approach to zeroing in on value because little time, management and guesswork is required.  You are investing in a diversified portfolio of good value indices.

A BUY rating for an index does NOT imply that any stock in that country is an attractive investment, so you do not have to spend hours of research aimed at picking specific shares.  It is not appropriate or enough to instruct a stockbroker to simply select stocks in the BUY rated countries.  Investing in the index is like investing in all the shares in the index.  You save time because all you have to do is invest in the ETF to gain the profit potential of the entire market.

To achieve this goal of diversification the Pifolio consists of Country Index ETFs.

Country Index ETFs are similar to an index mutual fund but are shares normally traded on a major stock exchange that tracks an index of shares in a specific country.  ETFs do not try to beat the index they represent.  The management is passive and tries to emulate the performance of the index.

A country ETF provides diversification into a basket of equities in the country covered.  The expense ratios for most ETFs are lower than those of the average mutual fund as well so such ETFs provide diversification and cost efficiency.

Here is the Pifolio I personally use.

70% is diversified into Keppler’s good value (BUY rated) developed markets: Australia, Austria, France, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Norway, Spain, Singapore and the United Kingdom.

30% of the Pifolio is invested in Keppler’s good value (BUY rated) emerging markets: Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, the Czech Republic, South Korea, Malaysia and Taiwan.

The Pifolio consists of iShares ETFs that invested in each of the MSCI indicies of theseall good value BUY markets.

For example, the iShares MSCI Australia (symbol EWA) is a Country Index ETF that tracks the investment results the Morgan Stanley Capital Index MSCI Australia Index which is composed mainly of large cap and small cap stocks traded primarily on the Australian Stock Exchange mainly of companies in consumer staples, financials and materials. This ETF is non-diversified outside of Australia.

iShares is owned by Black Rock, Inc. the world’s largest asset manager with over $4 trillion in assets under management.

The fact that the Pifilios are invested in all the shares of the MSCI Index in each good value market reduces long term risk.

When the US stock market bull ends, know one knows for sure how long or how severe the correction will be.

When the bear arrives, what will happen to global and especially good value markets?

No  one knows the answer to this question.

What we do know is that the equally weighted, good value market Pifolios have the greatest potential long term and that math based trailing stops can be used to protect against a secular global stock market correction when it comes.

My fifty years of global investing experience helps take advantage of numerous long term cycles that are part of the universal math that affects all investments.

You also receive two special reports.

In the 1980s, a remarkable set of two economic circumstances helped anyone who spotted them become remarkably rich.  Some of my readers made enough to retire.  Others picked up 50% currency gains.  Then the cycle ended.  Warren Buffett explained the importance of this ending in a 1999 Fortune magazine interview.  He said:  Let me summarize what I’ve been saying about the stock market: I think it’s very hard to come up with a persuasive case that equities will over the next 17 years perform anything like—anything like—they’ve performed in the past 17!

I did well then, but always thought, “I should have invested more!”  Now those circumstances have come together and I am investing in them again.

The circumstances that created fortunes 30 years ago were an overvalued US market (compared to global markets) and an overvalued US dollar.  The two conditions are in place again!

30 years ago, the US dollar rose along with Wall Street.  Profits came quickly over three years.  Then the dollar dropped like a stone, by 51%  in just two years.  A repeat of this pattern is growing and could create up to 50% extra profit if we start using strong dollars to accumulate good value stock market ETFs in other currencies.

This is the most exciting opportunity I have seen since we started sending our reports on international investing ideas more than three decades ago.  The trends are so clear that I have created a short, but powerful report “Three Currency Patterns for 50% Profits or More.”   This report shows how to earn an extra 50% from currency shifts with even small investments.  I kept the report short and simple, but included links to 153 pages of  Good Value Stock Market research and Asset Allocation Analysis.

The report shows 20 good value investments and a really powerful tactic that shows the most effective and least expensive way to accumulate these bargains in large or even very small amounts (less than $5,000).  There is extra profit potential of at least 50% so the report is worth a lot.

This report sells for $29.95 but in this special offer, you receive the report, “Three Currency Patterns for 50% Profits or More” FREE when you subscribe to Pi.

Plus get the $39.95 report “The Silver Dip” free.

With investors watching global stock markets bounce up and down, many missed two really important profit generating events over the last two years.  The price of silver dipped below $14 an ounce as did shares of the iShares Silver ETF (SLV).   The second event is that the silver gold ratio hit 80, compared to a ratio of 230 only two years before.

In September 2015, I prepared a special report “Silver Dip 2015” about a silver speculation, leveraged with a British pound loan, that could increase the returns in a safe portfolio by as much as eight times.  The tactics described in that report generated 62.48% profit in just nine months.

I have updated this report and “Silver Dip” report shares the latest in a series of long term lessons gained through 40 years of speculating and investing in precious metals.  I released the 2015 report, when the gold silver ratio slipped to 80.  The ratio has corrected and that profit has been taken and now a new precious metals dip has emerged.

I have prepared a new special report “Silver Dip” about a leveraged speculation that can increase the returns in a safe portfolio by as much as eight times.

Ecuador & Longevity

Ecuador is known for the longevity of many of its residents.

National Geographic published a great article, “Every Day Over 100 is a Gift” that outlined how and why residents in some Ecuador valleys like Vilcabamba live much longer (up to 130 years) than in the West.

vilcabamba-ecuador-back-yard

View of Vilcabamba from Club Hacienda el Atillo , Resort and Spa.

Yesterday’s message Ecuador and global investing pointed out that May 2, 2009 was the 41st anniversary of my investing and working globally.  That message ended with my plans for sharing the next 41 years with you.

Don’t Believe it?

62? Plus 41?  103? Could this be true?  I have a great grandparent (from Wales) who lived to 106, so why not?

Expecting to live long (I mean really expecting) makes it is more likely that you will. One of the greatest health risks we have is buying into the social myth that we should retire at age 65.

Every ancient text of wisdom suggests that 50 years of age is the midpoint… the time when life becomes more spiritual, wiser and that we have 50 or  more years to go.  If you are Biblical try rereading the book of Leviticus.

I believe this.  Below you’ll see  someone who agrees!

How will you look when you are 97?

ecuador-longevity

This is a photo of Shigeaki Hinohara this year at age 97.  The photo was taken from an article at japantimes.co.jp entitled WORDS TO LIVE BY Author/physician Shigeaki Hinohara by Judit Kawaguchi.

Here is an excerpt from that article (the address for the entire article is at the end of this message).

At the age of 97 years and 4 months, Shigeaki Hinohara is one of the world’s longest-serving physicians and educators. Hinohara’s magic touch is legendary: Since 1941 he has been healing patients at St. Luke’s International Hospital in Tokyo and teaching at St. Luke’s College of Nursing.

Always willing to try new things, he has published around 150 books since his 75th birthday, including one “Living Long, Living Good” that has sold more than 1.2 million copies. As the founder of the New Elderly Movement, Hinohara encourages others to live a long and happy life, a quest in which no role model is better than the doctor himself.

Energy comes from feeling good, not from eating well or sleeping a lot. We all remember how as children, when we were having fun, we often forgot to eat or sleep. I believe that we can keep that attitude as adults, too. It’s best not to tire the body with too many rules such as lunchtime and bedtime.

All people who live long — regardless of nationality, race or gender — share one thing in common: None are overweight. For breakfast I drink coffee, a glass of milk and some orange juice with a tablespoon of olive oil in it. Olive oil is great for the arteries and keeps my skin healthy. Lunch is milk and a few cookies, or nothing when I am too busy to eat. I never get hungry because I focus on my work. Dinner is veggies, a bit of fish and rice, and, twice a week, 100 grams of lean meat.

Always plan ahead. My schedule book is already full until 2014, with lectures and my usual hospital work. In 2016 I’ll have some fun, though: I plan to attend the Tokyo Olympics!

There is no need to ever retire, but if one must, it should be a lot later than 65.

Share what you know.

When a doctor recommends you take a test or have some surgery, ask whether the doctor would suggest that his or her spouse or children go through such a procedure.

To stay healthy, always take the stairs and carry your own stuff.

My inspiration is Robert Browning’s poem “Abt Vogler.” My father used to read it to me. It encourages us to make big art, not small scribbles. It says to try to draw a circle so huge that there is no way we can finish it while we are alive. All we see is an arch; the rest is beyond our vision but it is there in the distance.

Pain is mysterious, and having fun is the best way to forget it.

Don’t be crazy about amassing material things. Remember: You don’t know when your number is up, and you can’t take it with you to the next place.

Science alone can’t cure or help people.

Life is filled with incidents. On March 31, 1970, when I was 59 years old, I boarded the Yodogo, a flight from Tokyo to Fukuoka. It was a beautiful sunny morning, and as Mount Fuji came into sight, the plane was hijacked by the Japanese Communist League-Red Army Faction. I spent the next four days handcuffed to my seat in 40-degree heat. As a doctor, I looked at it all as an experiment and was amazed at how the body slowed down in a crisis.

Find a role model and aim to achieve even more than they could ever do.

It’s wonderful to live long. Until one is 60 years old, it is easy to work for one’s family and to achieve one’s goals. But in our later years, we should strive to contribute to society. Since the age of 65, I have worked as a volunteer. I still put in 18 hours seven days a week and love every minute of it.

These are some great tips and Hinohara is proof of the pudding that we can improve our chances of longevity anywhere!

Good food, like this fruit at the Cotacachi Ecuador farmers market is important to longevity.

Here is what some previous delegates have said about our tours.   These tours  change lives in more than just monetary ways as some of the delegates who have attended previous courses have written.

“For years and years I have searched for truly like- minded people to play with and work with… people who are deeply and honestly SPIRITUAL.”  J.M. Texas

ecuador-longevity

Longevity comes in safe places were even small children like this Andean girl are allowed freedom from crime day and night.

Here is another rave from a delegate:

“People who, among other things, are active and productive and creative and resourceful, whose word can be counted upon; People who realize that spirituality DOES NOT mean sitting in a cave contemplating your navel and weaving baskets, nor does it equate in the Western culture with living in abject poverty. People who realize that abundance is not a dirty word. People who understand that we are here to ENGAGE life, not to submit to circumstances out of fear and ignorance and apathy; People who don’t just use the most current “buzz words” so they can feel like they are part of the group, but who actually DO something… Builders. Thank you for showing up in my life.” E.W. Nevada

Knowing who supplies your food is important to longevity… as are places of person to person commerce, like these markets we visit on our Ecuador Shaman tour.

Here is what another delegate said.

“You are indeed a spiritual pioneer, blending disciplines to create tools and resources for success in this new land of opportunity. Anyone who thinks this is just all about money is missing the real message: This is about life in its most profound implications.” W.P. Australia

ecuador-longevity

Having sources of fresh food, like this Cotacachi Ecuador corn field, nearby is good for longevity.

Here is another endorsement:

I want to thank you for the wonderful time. I traveled from California to hear you convey your knowledge in the way you do so well, and I wasn’t disappointed. The amount of information in the sessions was almost overwhelming, but it’s exactly what I went to hear. When I try to engage intelligent, educated people on these subjects here at home, I usually get a blank look or “That’s interesting, but why are you thinking about that? “The setting at the farm felt like we were all sitting in the den after dinner discussing things among friends. The relaxed atmosphere seemed to encourage people to participate, asking pointed questions and relating personal experiences. The international flavor and attitude of the group was very stimulating, particularly when we split up into discussion groups. Those groups, taking walks together, allowed us to get to know each other on a personal level. Anyway, what I’m trying to say is, that’s the most fun I’ve had for four days straight in along time! Thanks again.” B.R. California

ecuador-longevity

Longevity and living in harmony with nature go hand in hand.  Here is a humming bird in Cotacachi. Ecuador has one of the largest bird diversities in the world.

One more comment from a delegate:

“A special warm ‘thank you’ to Merri for the wonderful cooking and the ‘feel at home atmosphere!’ I like to give a few comments about the past weekend.. It was relaxing, inspiring, informative and a spiritually balanced atmosphere with all these different, same thinking, like people. The technical information I gathered was most not new to me, but I like to compliment you for putting it all in the right perspective and to make it very understandable to all. What was a tour opinion one of the most important gaining of these 3 days is the opening of the new world, this new circle of what you call “normal” people! (I call us ‘not normal’ as a matter of respect to the majority. ) But as we know, all is relative and depends at the point of view of each, His spiritual mind and his opinion about the senses of our being.”

Ecuador Shamans & Purification

Ecuador shamanic purification techniques can help enhance life and longevity.

See below how this meadow and Ecuador shamanic purification can enhance your well being.

Ecuador-shaman

Merri and I lived and worked for years with the Taita Yatchak,  a very advanced healer.

For a great deal of that time we lived with this Ecuador shaman and his apprentices at our Andean hacienda. Here is a shot of the hacienda…very remote… and pollution free.

Ecuador-shaman

During that time we found that he was fanatical about three things.

Ecuador Shaman Health Fundamentals:

#1: Proper exercise.

#2: Correct nutrition.

#3; Purification.

The first two foundations of help reduce toxins our body creates. The third basic helps remove the toxins that are created.

He worked with us in numerous ways to help purify our bodies. One was a heavy steam discipline for five days… nothing as severe as the scientology purification rundown… a more gentler form… and consequently safer and probably in the long more effective.

The results are amazing so every few years I like to do this… sit in a steam bath for four hours every day  (you should not do this without the guidance of your medical care giver) for almost a week. (This is of course a slow build up of time…not to jump in to that long of a time immediately.)

However in recent years there has been no way to etch out fours hours a day. We have just been too darn busy.  I tried… putting my extensive reading material in plastic baggies so I could sit in the steam and read.  Baggies, steam and clarity do not go together!

We have both a steam bath and infrared sauna at our home and recently the idea occurred to me… would the purification work if I used the infrared instead of  steam?

I asked my medical care giver… an MD who as also specialized in complementary modalities for over thirty years.

Here is his reply.

Gary,

I have done research on  Infra Red Sauna  vs. Steambath.  The end result
appears to be the same; excellent release of toxins via the skin (largest organ in the body).

Both induce sweating with excellent therapeutic benefits, including:

* Improvement in blood circulation.

* Cleansing and rejuvenation of the skin, hair and nails.

* Muscle tension reduction.

* Immune system boost.

* Excretion of toxins.

* Promotion of a sense of well-being and relaxation.

Infra-red sauna has the following  advantages:

*Can be portable with no need for plumbing.

* Conserves water, an increasingly precious natural resource.

* The “inside” heating action of sauna may be superior to the “outside”
heating action of steam.

*  There can be an issue with bacteria and mold with steam rooms if not
maintained properly).  This is not true with infra red saunas.

* The far infra red unit allows one to bring in I pods, reading material, etc as it is quiet and dry.

* One must be sure that the water used in the steam production is toxin and chemical free.

On the other  hand,  steam rooms would be better for those with sinus problems, asthma and bronchitis.  The  sweat room would wash away  toxins a bit better, but both sauna and steam require showering to insure riddance of the toxins from the body surface.

Some people use both.

One final consideration. If you are aware of your Ayurvedic  body
constitution, you might choose sauna versus steam based on what would be most balancing.

I’ll give it a try and let you know at our upcoming shamanic mingo this June 12-14, 2009, (Arrive June 11. – Depart June 16).

Here are details about this tour.

Our Greatest Promise Yet. Absolutely Nothing… Guaranteed!

Our Greatest Promise Yet. Absolutely Nothing… Guaranteed!

Would you like to be guaranteed everything, better health, more worth, wealth, wisdom and wonder?

Then may I invite you to our newest shamanic tour? It’s about nothing.

This nothing is something Merri and I always wanted to do for 13 years. Yet how could we describe nothing that offers everything?

Then our friend and astrologer Blaine Watson sent this quote of Anthony de Mello:

“The governor on his travels stopped in to pay homage to the Master. ‘Affairs of state leave me no time for lengthy dissertations,’ he said.  “Could you put the essences of religion into a paragraph or two for a busy man like me?”

“I shall put it into a single word for the benefit of your highness.” “Incredible!

What is this most unusual word?”

“Silence.”

“And what is the way to silence?”

“Meditation.”

“And what, may I ask, is meditation?”

“Silence.”

This quote finally gave me permission to describe a Shamanic Mingo about nothing.  Mingo means circle or gathering. This is what our upcoming shamanic tour will be, gatherings around shamans in the sacred area of Cotacachi. That’s all we know will happen because this is the way the good ones are, in the here and now where in the moment forms the actions, teachings and the tour.

So little is so powerful!

For example, we took a group with a shaman to the sacred Ingapirca below for a Mingo. We traveled half the day and arrived at this beautiful spot.

Here is a photo of us lining up for that Mingo. The shaman lit the ceremonial fire. The fire went out. He lit it again and again it went out. “The fire has never gone out before,” the shaman said. “We should not proceed.” We had just a small ceremony instead and he focused on one special person with us, who had been ill. What he did seemed like nothing. Then we spent the rest of the day going home.

Our lives however were somehow turned around from…nothing. The mother later sent us this note.

“Hi Merri and Gary: Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Our daughter called me from the airport so it is going to be a long stressful trip for her, but she was very happy, excited and told me all about the wonderful time. She could not stop talking about you guys, about the seminar and about the whole positive experience.

“We want to thank you both so much for your support and care and for the wonderful attention you gave. I don’t think she could have made it without your help. Her health is so unpredictable…. She can be fine for a few weeks and then she has a relapse….and, of course, traveling is very stressful for her. But she has a wonderful attitude and is so looking forward to get her business off the ground…this is the first time in over 6 years that she has been able to “get back to work” and she is full of optimism. Thanks again for being so understanding and helpful. I just don’t know how to express our thanks other than to send you both a big warm hug!”

Merri and I have spent months over the years traveling, working, studying and living with Taita Yatchaks, Yatchaks, Shamans, Shamanas and Curanderos. We learned they work from nothing. Here we are with Aldemar a yatchak in the Amazon.

The real shamans are unpredictable because they gain their energy form their environment and from the here and now. They never know how the spirit will guide them so we genuinely do not know what will happen on our upcoming shamanic mingo tour. Expect nothing and you are almost guaranteed to get something and maybe….everything.

Here is Merri and me with a Taita Yatchak deep in the sacred LLanganatis. They say anyone who goes in there dies from a stake in their heart or goes mad. We found this not quite true. Though I assure you our hearts were affected in the most profound ways. You can read about this trip at https://www.garyascott.com/archives/2003/03/27/792/

Perhaps this is how legends arise. Maybe in the LLanganatis your heart will be destroyed to be born again! Or the mind will go mad from resisting the evolution. We will not make it to the LLanganatis on this tour, but we will be with shamans and though we’ll be steeped in nothingness I surely expect our hearts will soar.

We have found that shamans who ask “how much will you pay,” or “what do you want me to do” are not the ones we want.

The real healers are the ones who do not know what they will do and believe that the forces of nature will care for them, so they let the greater powers decide how, how much and when they are compensated and what they will do.

This should not be surprising. Looking for nothing to find everything is suspiciously similar to what quantum science suggests we should do.

Quantum physics indicates that all matter springs from nothing, just energy or wavelengths and that reality manifests from wavelengths in the mind and soul.

This science says illusions are solid. Reality is space. We are composed of molecules, small bits of something spinning around and separated by vast amounts of relative space. Yet molecules are not solid either. They are composed of atoms, even smaller bits spinning around and separated by vast amounts of relative space. Yet atoms are not solid either, but are composed of protons, electrons and neutrons, even smaller bits spinning in vast spaces. And these are composed of even smaller bits, muons, quarks of several spins, also spinning in vast spaces. Super string theory suggests that these bits are even tinier particles composed of smaller one dimensional strings of vibration that are the smallest bits which humanity has been able to conceive.

Where do all these tiniest super strings come from? Nothing but silence and space frozen in solid illusions from our observation, intention and consciousness. In short, our thoughts are the existence that creates the universe. This is the wonder of true quantum research and shamanism too.

The shamans get in touch with the nothingness to alter and heal. When they touch the infinite with their hearts and minds wonderful things happen to those with them.  Healings and awakenings spring from their touch…no scalpels, pills or radiation required!

To accomplish this Shamans have to be in touch with nature, not the schedule of a tour.

So our upcoming Shamanic Mingo is a tour about nothing with no schedule at all. Actually not quite. There are some things we will be sure to do. We just do not know when or where. Instead we’ll arrive in innocence, expect nothing, get our feet in motion and lay our path open to fate. This, I warn you, is a powerful mixture so shed your expectations but prepare for more than you can imagine.

We’ll  visit the sacred Quicocha lake for a shamanic study and perhaps a ceremony.

On another day we’ll cross this meadow… looking at herbs there.  Then…

We’ll learn about a variety of shamanic healing plants such as Datura, Dulcamaras, Una Del Gato and Sangria Drago.

There you have it, a course Merri and I have wanted to conduct for years but have not because it is nothing. If you feel like doing nothing, join this tour here in Cotacachi , Ecuador . You’ll do nothing together. Who knows, you might accomplish everything, better health, more happiness and certainly we will broaden your horizons!

Ecuador Micro Earning Idea

Here is an Ecuador Micro earning idea that isn’t a dog.

There are increasing requests from people wishing to work in Ecuador.
Our goal is to help readers learn how to earn in Ecuador or anywhere with their own web business so they have freedom to live were and how they like.

For example Merri and I love to take our hound with us wherever we go.

Here she is while we are earning in Cotacachi, Ecuador.

Here we are on the Pacific beach in Ecuador.

or on our North Carolina farm…

or here…

ecuador-earning-idea

in Salva Wales…

with our daughter’s dog Jack… Two of our daughter’s have young beagles Jack, and Poppy.  Ma… now a 12 year old hound… tolerates them.

Some think we are crazy taking our dog so many places… but the point is with out own web business we can live and go were and in the way we choose!

You can too.  We offer a course to help our readers start their own web business. This freedom not only makes life more enjoyable but also reduces the cost of living.

This is why we are sharing a free course on how to create your own website without a webmaster written by Michelle Toole. Here is the 34th lesson in this course.

To Copyright or Not to Copyright that is the Question
by Michelle Toole.

Ok so you’re new to the Internet and you have just written your first e-book and you are wondering what happens if someone takes my work and sells it as there own?  Do I have any recourse?  Should I copyright my e-book and what about my web site?  All of these are good questions and are cause for some interesting discussions on the internet.

Here are the facts:

“All of your content AUTOMATICALLY has a copyright, whether you register it or not… or whether you indicate the copyright or not. However, it’s always better to indicate and date your copyright ownership at the bottom of every page. You are protected online by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.  That said laws are always vague and to take someone to court and actually win is a tough road to maneuver.”

Everything from April 1, 1989 is copyrighted by the owner or author whether is has a notice or not.

“Considering the vastness of the internet, the possibilities can seem overwhelming the best advice is to take steps to protect yourself the best you can, take action if you find someone has violated your copyright and let go and get on with your business.

1) Copyright every page on your site by adding the following to the bottom…

Copyright © 2009 Your Name. All Rights Reserved.

2) Burn your Web Site to a CD every 3 months and date it. Leave it in your safety deposit box, with a notary or attorney as of that date.”

3) Copyright your e-book upon completion and Copyright your web site every 6-12 months. It’s cheap and not difficult to do. It’s easy and cheap, http://www.copyright.gov.

The first one is an absolute must. The second two are not “must do’s” according to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. But they set you up much more strongly, if you ever need to go to court. Imagine producing material that has been copyrighted in court, straight from a rip-off site? Wow!

But remember, you likely won’t use this in court — but it makes you bullet-proof with Search Engines. THAT is what is important, if you ever need “swift justice.”  If someone is duplicating your web site or e-book a simple straight forward email to the search engines (Google, Yahoo and MSN) and they will shut the offending site down!

Once you have taken all the steps necessary to protect yourself forget about it!  That’s right because it does not deserve all your time and energy.  You do the best you can, put safeguards in place; occasionally check around to see if you have been copied (http://www.copyscape.com) and if all is well then ALL IS WELL!  You have a better chance of being struck by lightening!  Stay focused on what counts, your success!

Look for my future articles and tips where we discuss monetization options, search engine optimization, incoming links, additional e-zine techniques, link exchange programs and much more…..

You can check out Michelle’s web site at http://healthy-holistic-living.com. To get more great tips, like the ones above and to see how and what tools she used to create a successful on-line business go to http://sitesell-sbi.com

Until next message, may  we all be blessed with a dog’s life.

Ecuador Canadian Connection

There is quite a large Ecuador Canadian connection… especially in Cotacachi Ecuador. This winter it seemed as if we had almost as many Canadians as Americans.

The sun always shines somewhere… like this shot taken by our Canadian friend, Dennis Goff, who lives part of the winter in Cotacachi Ecuador and recently visited Ecuador’s coast with us.

ecuador-canadian-connection

I suspect that it is the cold winters in Canada that bring so many Canadians to Ecuador.

Merri and I are currently in Florida looking (unsuccessfully so far) for real estate. We head north tomorrow.  Here is what our friend and farm manager Richard Goebel wrote:

“Are you sure you want to be up here next week?  Here is Ray’s forecast for Monday next week This is not an April Fool’s trick.”

Monday – Mostly cloudy; Windy; Early AM showers; Turning colder with snow showers late afternoon & at night; High in the lower 50s; Low in the mid 20s

Tuesday – Mostly cloudy; Cold; Blustery; Snow showers & flurries; High in the upper 30s; Low in the lower 20s

In other words, when Merri and I arrive in North Carolina our front yard could look something like this.

ecuador-canada-connection

One must wonder… why?   We could be back in Ecuador where there is never snow and one has a choice of climates.  For example in Cotacachi nearly every day it’s in the 70s and at night 50s.

By dropping altitude a bit for example to Ibarra, the temperature is warmer.  Cotacachi is at at about 7,500 feet altitude, Ibarra about 6,500 feet.

Instead of looking at the snow, I could be looking at sunshine and property near Ibarra like this Ecuador real estate for sale that we viewed on our last real estate tour…

This is an income opportunity, a 21.39 acre estate with an executive golf course, pitching and putting, 6 greens on a 5 acre area.  It has six cabins. Here is our last real estate tour…

Now the owner has adjusted it down to a realistic price and I am sending a full report to my Ecuador Living subscribers next week.   If you are not a subscriber and would like this report, you can learn how to subscribe to Ecuador Living here.

We look forward to sharing more ideas about Ecuador, value anywhere and hope that until next message may all your connections be linked in reality and truth.

Ecuador Amazon Herbal Tour

Ecuador’s Amazon is rich in herbs  as you’ll learn on our Ecuador Amazon Herbal Tour, May 22-24, 2009.

Enroll here $399.  Enroll here for a couple $499

Studying Ecuador herbs is fun.

You see them regularly in Native Ecuador markets are ancient rites of human endeavor. Meetings like this one high in the Ecuador Andes have taken place almost since civilization began as have imports and exports. I closed my eyes and felt the energy, the deep, inner excitement that marketplaces bring and how they thrill. Such wonderful agitation! Ecuadorian men and women, different religions, cultures and ages. People from near and far. Explosions of color. Mutterings and hawking in Quichua, Spanish, and occasional English working their babble of exchange. Ecuadorian babies bobbing on mother’s backs, children working, playing and racing among the stalls. Adults serious in their cares. Explosions of sights, smells and sounds create this purposeful cacophony true to only one mission, to trade and sell, import, export!

Exploring the markets is a great way to see Amazon herbs but the best way to know them is to actually visit the marker.

So for years we have been helping readers go to the Amazon and learn how they are actually grown.

Alberto Verdezoto (a long term friend and guide as well as an expert on herbal medicine from the Amazon) will guide a tour to the Amazon and the Flora Sana finca this May.

ecuador-information-tours

Here is Alberto leading one of our tours.

You could not be in better hands.  Alberto was in the Ecuador travel business for more than 10 years and has been working in the Amazon with herbs for many years. He is the distributor for the Flora Sana Amazon products.

Here is Alberto (left) leading our staff at International Living’s Ecuador seminar in March.

ecuador-tours

Alberto helped develop  the entire line of organic Amazon health products to export from Ecuador under the “Flora Sana” (Flower Healing) brand.

Ecuador Herbal Products

Stimusan Herb Pack
Dulcamara Cream
Dulcamara Liquid
Dulcamara Shampoo
Dulcamara Soap
Sweet Sleep
Sangria Drago
Organic Chocolate

There are many more Ecuador export products in the Flora Sana line.

We are working with Alberto to obtain dealers for these products.

This line has special interest in the health food supplement field. Take the Dulcamaras range for example.

Merri and I have enormous energy vitality and enthusiasm, running the farm and our publishing business. Many are amazed at what we get done. At a time when many are thinking retirement, we feel we are just getting started. Plus despite our heavy work load and travel schedule we seem to be getting younger…yet this is a time when many of our friends are rapidly deteriorating both in energy and appearance.

We feel that one reason is that we regularly take the Dulcamaras food supplement which is a pure Amazonian plant extract. When we began using this product years ago, one MD told us that he used this plant extract to help his cancer patients. The doctor explained that Dulcamaras is not a cancer cure but so enhances the immune system that many patients cure themselves. He explained that many of his patients also used Dulcamaras to enhance their vitality and that it has anti-aging qualities that could be enjoyed.

We decided to try it ourselves. After a couple of days we felt tiredness but then found ourselves feeling more energy. My weight started dropping. Muscle mass and skin tone built though we did not add any new exercises.

We began sharing Dulcamaras extract years ago with a few of our friends and heard back similar stories from those who were well. From others we heard incredible stories.

We read a medical study from the University of Miami Medical School entitled “INDUCTION OF CASPASE-MEDIATED APOPTOSIS AND INHIBITION OF PROSTATE TUMOR GROWTH AND METASTASIS BY A PLANT EXTRACT”.

The study was done by Deven S. Dandekar1*, Vinata B. Lokeshwar1, Edwin Cevallos. 2, and Bal L. Lokeshwar1. 1Dept. of Urology and Sylvester Cancer Center, Univ. of Miami, Miami, Fl. 2Tumor Institute, Quito, Ecuador. *d.dandekar@miami.edu

The study began “INTRODUCTION: Most cancer drugs are derived from plants and many more are yet to be discovered (1). An orally active, aqueous plant extract (Dulcamara sp) was tested for its anti-tumor properties on prostate cancer cells in vitro and in vivo.”

The conclusion of that study was that the Dulcamaras extract tested was a potent orally active anti-neoplastic agent, which primarily affects caspase-mediated apoptosis and inhibits metastasis by inhibition of hyaluronidase, an ECM-degrading enzyme implicated in tumor angiogenesis and metastasis.

We saw one friend with Lymphoma have a miraculous cure in 18 days. Another who was quadriplegic with MS had such a recovery that she can now stand alone. But mostly the stories were about feeling better, having more energy, sex drive, clearer mind, strength, endurance and feeling and looking younger.

Dulcamaras has great potential to be of assistance in diseases in which the immune system is implicated as a contributing factor. The medical doctor in Ecuador has gathered data which indicates possible value in conditions of over active and under active immune system such as AIDS, Allergic States, Colitis, Multiple Sclerosis, Chronic Hepatitis, and Lupus like diseases.

We do not believe that Dulcamaras is a panacea and it is not intended to diagnosis, treat or cure any condition nor should it be viewed as a substitute for orthodox medical treatments. But it is a powerful plant-derived nutritional supplement which may safely be used for longevity, more energy and better health plus as a complementary treatment to assist the body’s natural healing processes.

Here is more about Ecuador Dulcamaras Export Opportunity.

Common names: Donkey Ears, Life Plant.

Scientific Name: Kalanchoe gastonis-bonnieri Raym.-Hamet & H. Perrier

Synonym: Bryophyllum gastonis-bonnieri

Family: Crassulaceae

Origin of the Plant:

Kalanchoe or Bryophyllum gastonis bonnieri is originated from Madagascar . It was known and used as a medicine by the ancient Egyptians. The plant was brought to the Amazon during the time of the rubber boom at the end of the 19th century.

The Dulcamara plants used to make Flora Sana natural products are organically grown in their gardens located on the left bank of the Puyo river, next to the Amazonian town of Puyo, the capital of the Pastaza province, in Ecuador. A plant takes 6 to 8 months to mature and be ready for harvest.

The plant is then used to make tinctures and creams.

The Flora Sana Dulcamara Tincture is used here in Ecuador for inflammation of prostate, tumor in ovaries, uterus, brain, kidneys, breast, cysts, leukemia, kidney and gall stones, hemorrhoids, bronchitis, asthma and sinusitis, depressed immune system. Of course it cannot be exported from Ecuador or offered in other countries for these purposes unless it has been approved by relevant authorities.

There has been a study at University of Miami Medical School on the effects of this plant. See http://www.med.miami.edu/mnbws/Dandekar106.html

The Dulcamara Cream is created by blending pure dulcamara water extract with a base cream imported from France. The cream has protective, nourishing and moisturizing properties. A small quantity of essential oil of lavender is added to complement its nutritional properties and therapeutic uses, especially for acne, allergies, burns, diaper rash, and general skin care. The cream can be applied on the face and to all body parts.

The cream is used in Ecuador for burns, allergies, varicose veins and ulcers, diabetic, baldness, warts, vitiligo, acne, pimple, blackhead, wrinkles, hemorrhoids, psoriasis, diaper rash, dermatitis and general skin care. Again this cannot be exported form Ecuador or offered in other countries for these specific purposes.

This is just one of many herbs you’ll learn about because Alberto also works with CORPEI, the Ecuadorian government organization dedicated to developing export opportunities for handicrafters up to big organizations. They approached Alberto to see if he wanted to be involved in an international project to promote the development of businesses and organizations involved with producing and marketing natural products from the Andes and Amazon.

Cotacachi Organic Animal Care

Here is a way to earn income and help animals in Cotacachi (or anywhere) with organic care.

Meet Lee…

Ecuador-organic-animals

and Peggy…

Ecuador-organic-animals

Lee & Peggy Carper.

Ecuador-organic-animals

and their latest project.

Ecuador-organic-animals

Lee and Peggy are animal lovers who look after Cotacachi animals. More on the puppy and this specific project in a moment.

First, let’s look at the Cotacachi organic animal  business and income opportunity.

Our last two messages have looked at advice from billionaires Warren Buffet and Li Ka-Shing on how to use this economic correction to create wealth.

Here is another quote from a billionaire… T. Boone Pickens who said:

We’ve got all these politicians talking about better health care and what all, but believe me, we’re not going to have the money to take care of sick people.. or anyone else as far as I’m concerned.. if we don’t fix our energy problem right now.

There are several ways to take advantage of the current economic correction… invest in stocks… real estate… commodities or  to have or start your own business.

Picken’s quote hit on several huge fundamental problems that will need many businesses to solve…  energy… health and federal spending.

This is why I am writing this series on Ecuador business ideas and have focused on the environment and using organic products which helps solve all three of the problems above.

Here is an Cotacachi Ecuador organic animal care business idea.   You can help Ecuador pets and earn income in the process.

Our Land of the Sun Foundation  (LOTS) has been helping Lee & Peggy.   They live right next to our hotel, Meson de las Flores. Here is a typical shot of their balcony.

Ecuador-pets

They help dogs.  They feed stray dogs, get medical care for them and have them spayed and neutered.

Lee and Peggy’s neighbors know about this care for the animals.  They bring pets in need to Lee & Peggy.   For example this dog had been hit by a car.  A neighbor took them to the dog.  Traces of blood were dry on the sidewalk under this weak and under nourished male basset hound. His eyes were infected which made his drooping eyes even more pitiful.

PB210029

Lee and Peggy got together with a nurse and they paid for the antibiotic she suggested he needed. She quickly mixed the two part antibiotic and administered the first dose and wrote instructions for the future.

Peggy visited Meson de Las Flores and found a translator  as she was having a difficult time explaining the accident and getting advice. After  giving the medicine they flagged a truck and the driver took them and the dog to their place.

They called the local vet, Jose, and he gave the dog a shot for pain and inflammation, bathed the area of the dried blood, and put on iodine. He checked for broken bones and for internal injury as the dog did have blood mixed in with his urine. He assured them the hound would be fine, but he  came back the next day to give him another shot and see how he was fairing.

Lee and Peggy fed the hound and nursed him back to health.

PB210027

They named him Sid and thanks to the many guests at Meson who have donated, as well as LOTS, Sid fully recovered.

Now there is a profitable, organic, commercial way to help animals in Cotacachi… or anywhere you choose.

Our webmaster’s wife, Cinda, is a Veterinarian and she is introducing a new line of organic animal washes for pets.  Our webmaster recently sent this note to vets we know.

Hi,  I’m helping my wife Cinda (a veterinarian in Oregon) with her new
project – a cool website for pet owners and vets. She is sticking her
neck out vicariously through me to offer you a great opportunity.

For pet owners, it’s a great place to get impartial information and
suggestions on pets, pet ownership, going to the vet, virtual “second
opinions” a place where people can read more and ask the questions
they wished they’d asked at the vets and were either too confused,
worried, unsure, or plain forgot to ask.

For vets, it’s a phenomenal place to go and read about cases, business
ideas for running a vet practice, share tips with colleagues and catch
up on new ideas, techniques and developments. Like CE but we don’t
call it that.

We’ll have some incredible vets, skilled animal trainers, select vet
techs, and a few select pet owners writing and contributing content.

Pretty cool huh?

And as an incredible vet, vet tech, animal trainer or pet owner here
is that great opportunity I mentioned…

We’d like to invite you to contribute content – articles, ideas,
opinions, suggestions, etc. either for pet owners or vets. We’ll
include your bio and a link back to your website or practice website
and (if you wish) your email address so people may contact you. As
frequently or infrequently as you can manage. Once a blue moon? Great.
Daily? Awesome.

The site is just starting but we’ll build it into an incredible online
community. And you’ll have been there since the start and will gain
all those referrals from day one through my own expertise – Internet
marketing.

A couple of vet friends already said “Wow! OK!” so you can feel you’re
in good company. Just say OK and I’ll send you details to get you
started.

Super and thank you so much!

David

PS: If you’ve colleagues or friends who fit the bill, we’d love to
have them on board. Have them email me please.

You can get involved on the ground floor because Dr. Cinda is introducing a biodegradable, organic, pet wash. This creates a business opportunity distributing  this organic animal care solution in Ecuador or any part of the world.

Here is our webmaster David and his wife Cinda.

cotacachi-pets

For information on the earning potential of Dr. Cinda’s organic animal wash  visit the ourfamilyvet.com site and use the “Contact Us” to reach David and Dr. Cinda for the financial details.

I can give David & Dr. Cinda a wholehearted recommendation. David has been my friend and webmaster for more than a decade.  I know Cinda even better. She has been my daughter for…  I am not allowed to say how many years!

Cinda is #2  of our five children.

Ecuador Politics & Reality

Will Ecuador politics lead to this?

ecuador-politics

or is this the more likely result of Ecuador politics?

ecuador-politics

See below a batch pf Ecuador pictures and why I lean towards the politics of dancers in Ecuador.  First some words about Ecuador politics.

A reader sent this note asking about Ecuador political realities.

Mr. Scott, I want to thank you for the reports that you are sending me about Ecuador politics. I had decided to come there the first week of April and check things out. Then I saw on the news, here in the US, that the President of Ecuador is becoming just like the President of Venezuela, another dictator that will ruin the country and make it very undesirable and unsafe to live there. I would like for your honest opinion on this matter.  Sincerely,

Here is my Ecuador politics reply.

I never believe much of what I read in the news anymore. When I see how the US, especially the CIA treats Latin politics and Ecuador I am surprised there is not more hostility to the US.

Many readers read a lot of bad stuff about Ecuador politics and Correa and how he is not renewing the US lease on the Manta air base that started in 2000.

What the news on Ecuador politics does not report is what the US has been helping Colombia do from that base.

For example the news up north has not reported on an article at Commondreams .com written by the Environment News Service. Here is an excerpt:

Ecuador Sues Colombia to Stop Anti-Coca Herbicide Spray

THE HAGUE, The Netherlands- The government of Ecuador today filed suit at the International Court of Justice against the government of Colombia, in an effort to stop or restrict aerial anti-coca spraying that has allegedly sickened people on the Ecuadorean side of the border and harmed livestock, farmland, and sensitive, ecologically diverse rainforest areas.

The lawsuit follows seven years of persistent but unsuccessful diplomatic efforts on Ecuador’s part to convince its neighbor to the north to establish a 10 kilometer (six mile) no-spray zone along their shared border.

Colombia is expected to argue that the aerial fumigation of illegal coca farms, which provide the raw material for cocaine production, is a linchpin of the war on drugs.  Ecuador claims that the chemical sprays have sickened its people, poisoned farmland and damaged ecologically sensitive areas.

At a press conference in Quito announcing the lawsuit, Ecuadorean Foreign Minister MarÁƒÂ a Isabel Salvador said, “With the purpose of establishing the existence and dimensions of the afflictions suffered by Ecuador as a result of these and past fumigations, last year President Rafael Correa created the Ecuadorian Scientific Commission, comprised of eminent scientists from our country.

“The results of the commission’s work have been crucial to reaching the irrefutable conclusion that Colombian aerial fumigations have had noxious effects on our people and our environment,” she said.

“There is no doubt that the fumigations conducted by the government of Colombia constitute a grave violation of the sovereignty of Ecuador and of the most basic principles of international law,” she said, “which prohibits a state from causing harm to the population, land and well-being of a neighboring state.”

Since spraying began in 2000, Colombia has refused to consider such measures, the lawsuit asserts. Instead, its planes and helicopters loaded with herbicide have flown right up to and sometimes directly over the border, releasing chemicals designed to eradicate all forms of plant life.

The spray has drifted to the Ecuadorean side, where villagers have reported feeling the mist settle on their skin. People in Ecuadorean border communities, many of them poor subsistence farmers or those raising small cash crops, have suffered skin lesions and rashes, burning eyes, nausea, dizziness, respiratory problems, and intestinal bleeding. Some have died.

Ecuador alleges that the spraying has killed livestock and crops, forcing the abandonment of villages, while harming ecologically sensitive areas of high biodiversity.

Nearly one third of the country’s territory is protected or park land, and Ecuador is estimated to have the highest average biological diversity of any nation on Earth.

Since 2000, the United States has been financing the aerial spraying of coca crops in Colombia, which is the world’s leading producer.

According to the lawsuit, Colombia has refused to disclose the exact makeup of the herbicide it uses, though the active ingredient is known to be glyphosate (N-phosphonomethyl). The active ingredient is reportedly combined with other chemicals to make aerial sprays more potent.

Ecuador protested the violation of its territory as soon as spraying began in 2000, and has sought to resolve the countries’ dispute through negotiation and diplomacy.

As a last resort, it submits its argument to the International Court of Justice, whose jurisdiction is confirmed by the American Treaty for the Peaceful Settlement of Disputes, also known as the Pact of Bogotá, to which both Ecuador and Colombia are parties.

Ecuador has been an active partner against illegal drugs. It is the only Andean country with virtually no coca crop. Yet they have to put up with this even though Colombian government officials agree that the aerial spraying against coca plants is largely ineffective.

Nor did the northern news make much mention when Colombia bombed Ecuador territory to kill a FARC commander that had taken refuge in the hinterlands of Ecuador.

I wonder how the US would have reacted had Mexico dropped bombs in Arizona to kill Mexican criminals there?

Nor have the northern news reported much of the details outlined at antiwar.com in an article by Kintto Lucas entitled  “CIA Infiltration’ Charges Prompt Shakeup in Ecuador’s Armed Forces”

Here are excerpts:

QUITO – President Rafael Correa’s allegations that intelligence services in Ecuador had been infiltrated by the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) have led to a shakeup in the armed forces of unforeseeable consequences.

The current crisis broke out as a result of Colombia’s Mar. 1 bombing raid of a Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) camp in Ecuadorian territory, which led to a brief rupture in relations between Ecuador and Colombia and sparked a regional crisis that was quickly overcome through dialogue.

At least two other members of the Ecuadorian high command have also offered their resignations, said Camacho.

Ponce, the new defense minister, said “this is not setting the stage for a witch hunt, but for a healthy critical exercise of transparency. The stability of our democracy is not based on cover-ups but on the courageous analysis of our actions.”

He also urged the armed forces “to undertake a generous review of their structures and practices.”

On Saturday, Correa denounced in his weekly radio broadcast that the CIA “has totally infiltrated some of Ecuador’s military intelligence bodies.”

According to the news report, when it began to be revealed that the armed forces had previous knowledge of the Colombian air strike on the FARC camp in Ecuador, several military officers complained internally that the intelligence service had not passed on the information.

Local media outlets reported that military intelligence had been following Franklin Aizalla, an Ecuadorian citizen who died in the attack on the FARC camp, without informing Correa.

On Mar. 17, Correa and then defense minister Sandoval learned from the press that Aizalla had been under surveillance, which Colombia’s right-wing President Álvaro Uribe had been aware of for some time.

Colonel Pazmiño’s curriculum indicates “very effective training by the US and Israeli security bodies,” wrote Ecuadorinmediato, which added that “he handled military intelligence operations in a nearly autonomous manner, without duly reporting to his superiors, many of whom were unaware of those actions.”

He also said that, “besides the CIA’s infiltration in the armed forces, it is essential to take a look at what is happening in the police, who have traditionally had the closest ties to US security policies for the region.”

Former US Southern Command chief Charles Wilhelm said in 2000 that after Ecuador signed an agreement leasing the air base in the port city of Manta to the US military, one of Washington’s aims was to “reorient” the Ecuadorian armed forces.

The officer who spoke anonymously to IPS said “part of that reorientation was the modification of the training received by the Ecuadorian military, to make it more similar to the training received by the Colombian army.”

A few days after the Mar. 1 bombing of the FARC camp, the Colombian magazine Cambio reported that members of the Ecuadorian police intelligence services had helped locate the camp.

More recently Ecuador accused an expelled Mark Sullivan, the U.S. Embassy’s first secretary in the office of regional affairs and stated he was in charge of CIA operations here.   Ecuadorean officials claim he meddle in the assignment of senior police.

The US denied this CIA allegation… but why am I not convinced?

Having said this, the Presidents in Ecuador have been bad for the entire 14 years Merri and I have been here. This has made little difference to day to day life.  Go to Garyascott.com and type Correa in the search engine as I have written several messages about him.  He is the best I have seen so far.

I believe that many of his policies are incorrect but he is the first President here that I believe will be reelected in April.

He is smart in that after just two years in office he is running again while he is popular instead of waiting the normal four years.  I believe he will be reelected now. In two more years…who knows?

He has been providing free housing for the poor.

Let me be clear about Correa. I do not like many of the things he has been doing… but then again I do not like many things that Obama is doing either.

Obama and Correa have much in common… youth… energy and inexperience.

Anyone looking for a place to live where the country has only good politicians may be in for quite a search.

Let me also be clear about my position regarding the USA.

A reader recently asked:

Gary, Just curious – if you love Ecuador so much – why is legal address in NC, USA.   Why a non-profit entity in the US!

My reply kind of says it all.

Does one have to dislike one country because they love another?

We have lived in Hong Kong,  England, Europe, The US, Ecuador, Dominican Republic and have enjoyed them all.    If there is one key theme in the thousands of messages we have sent to our tens of thousands of readers about global living is that diversification, people and value are keys aspects in our beliefs.

We love Ecuador and live part time here.We also love North Carolina and live part time there.  We make no bones about our love for America and how we live more there than in Ecuador.

We reported recently how we are shifting our focus back to Florida and why at Ecuador shamans & truth … value and people… plus diversification.

Those three themes value… people… diversification are our politics.

This is our North Carolina home.

ecuador-politics

This, Meson de las Flores is our Ecuador home. Note how the US and Ecuadorian flag freely fly, side by side, with those of many other nations.

ecuador-politics

Each makes the other better!

We do not get much into politics here. We just enjoy the life… the sweet people… the warm weather… the good food and low cost living and let the politicians and the newscasters play their games. They have very little effect on life here.

In fact bad Ecuador politics in many ways make life better for retirees here.  Bad politics screw up the economy leaving people poor and keeping the cost of living low.

I hope that changes. I would like to see more people in Ecuador prosper but that probably will not happen soon.

Low oil prices… reduced remittances from abroad and a global economic slow down will challenge Correa over the next four years if I am correct and he is reelected.

The bad economics will put Correa under pressure and he’ll make mistakes. He may even come off as a brash hot head.  Does this make him a dictator? Not that I have seen.  Will it make any difference in my life or the other gringo’s living here. Probably not.

In fact if there is anyone to fear it is the NEWS that misleads you and tries with its spin to lock you into a narrow point of view. Life is good out here… make no mistake about this.

While many are living with the crowds and stress and snow and high prices… thinking there is danger here… a growing number of us are enjoying the sun… low stress… low cost and a good life without big brother.

While so many are stressing out up north, here is a group of new residents here in Cotacachi who decided to take the day train from Ibarra to Salinas.

Seven P Secrets of Self Publishing

When you write, you can work anywhere.

gary-scott-image

Here I am working poolside in the winter, at our Florida farm.

gary scott

Here I am with our hound Ma, working during the summer at our North Carolina farm.

Learn how to earn everywhere, while living anywhere you choose.  I have been able to earn by writing in Hong Kong, England, the Isle of Man, Dominican Republic and Ecuador to name a few of the place I have lived.  Everywhere I have been… too numerous to share here, I have been able to work.

All I need is my laptop.

That’s all you need too… a laptop to be free!

Before computers, a pencil and pad did the job.

Freedom is just one benefit you can gain from writing.

Another benefit is income.   Writing has brought me both our farms, free and clear… plus a lot more.

Another good example of earning potential is my friend Hugh Howey.   He was working for $10 an hour in a book store when he self published his novel Wool, typing in a storage room during his lunch breaks.

Soon he was earning over $100,000 a month on Amazon.com.  This helped secure a six-figure book deal from Simon & Schuster, and an option for film by Ridley Scott, director of Blade Runner and Alien.

That’s what he’s doing now.

Hugh Howey

Hugh and I playing chess (he beats me badly).

Writers like High are great inspirations.

A couple of years ago Hugh  left Florida, and moved to South Africa.  He had a sailing catamaran built for him and now can sail the world while he continues to write.

Hugh explained it like this: And that’s the miracle of working as a writer: I can do it from anywhere and everywhere. The past few years, I’ve done a lot of writing from airplanes and airports while on business trips abroad.  SAND was entirely written overseas while traveling through seven different countries; I think it’s a better story because of those inspirations.  In upcoming years, I may be writing near your home port.

Hugh’s a super star writer and his success could not happen to a more deserving and talented person.  He pours enormous energy into being worthy of his readership.  But you do not have to be a million dollar a year earner or a traveler to benefit from writing.

The good news is… you do not need a huge success to have a rich and fulfilled lifestyle.  Self Publishing can bring you a life that most people only dream of, as a journeyman writer, instead of a super star.

May I hastily add that the path to stardom begins as a journeyman… so the journeyman’s path brings success without stardom… but can also lead to stardom.

What most success stories like Hugh’s rarely explain is the many hours of writing that was devoted before their self published book sales soared.   Hugh, like most writers were journeymen first.  Stardom came later.

Here are sevens secrets that can help you become a journeyman writer.

The secrets are a writer’s armory of tools that allows almost anyone to create successful publications for income, freedom and fulfillment.

Take Merri’s and my publishing business as an example.

Merri and I are not writing stars.  We are journeymen who have for more than 40 years, year in and year out, earned solid income writing and self publishing dozens of publications about multiple subjects.

Some years that income has been more than solid… over a million dollars.  Yet in terms of stardom, we are hardly known.

In a moment you’ll see why that’s fine for us and probably will be for you too.

First some history.

Merri became involved in self publishing over 40 years ago… first helping a veterinarian publish a book on a very specific market… animal acupuncture. Then she showed a needle point artist how to sell more books to an even more specific audience… “needle point enthusiasts”  about her needle point work to an audience larger than the population of the city she lived in.  This led Merri to eventually become Executive Editor of an award winning magazine in Florida.

My story allowed Merri and me to work and live from Hong Kong to London to Europe to Eastern Europe, then the Caribbean and then Ecuador… making millions in the process of following our adventures… having fun… while helping a large readership adapt to a rapidly changing world.

That’s what self publishing can bring, profit, adventure and fulfillment, a great feeling of worth and wonder.

Self Publishing has created exactly the lifestyle we desire allowing us to span the world and work with meaning and purpose.

Self Publishing has become a new business art form.

The seven secrets can help you start your own self publishing business now.

Everything in publishing is new and exciting and changing.  Publishing is being recreated by the wonderful power of destructive technology.

Everything is new… except the seven secrets.

Change in the publishing industry is disturbing many.   We love this evolution due to these seven secrets we call the 7Ps.  The 7 Ps are so fundamental to writing and publishing that new technology enhances rather than reduces their power.

The First P is Passion.

Whatever your passion, you can immerse yourself in it AND create income with self publishing.  This can be your direct ticket to the kind of fulfillment you’ve always wanted.

Whether you want to travel the world or live as a recluse, work 12 hours a day or not work much at all,  you can set your schedule to succeed, if you’re willing to learn these seven secrets.

You can start part-time with any dream, passion, and budget.  Once you’ve created a product, you’ll enjoy the “multiple effect” of producing profits over and over again.

So the question is… What do you love to do?

What’s Your Passion:  An example is that thirty years ago, a client of Merri’s had a passion to help people who were in pain?  He published a series of pamphlets explaining various chiropractic disorders in very simple terms.  For example: “What Is Whiplash?”

The pamphlets contained solid information, but were simple 5″ x 7″ brochures with drawings and explanations. He sold them with a rack to chiropractors, who put them in their offices for patients to read.  These little self-published items sold year in and year out for decades.

There are thousands of ideas of this sort that can lead to big business.  It’s just a matter of defining and then acting on your passion.

Although I can work when I please and go where I wish, for me the most important reason for being a publisher is the satisfaction it brings.

I love the projects I take on, so work doesn’t feel like, well… work.

What do you love?  If you love golf, then you can write and sell publications about golf.  Love travel, fishing, dogs, dolls, or art?  Write and sell publications in these fields.

Are you concerned about crime, war, poverty or environmental issues?  You can publish information products that help reduce these concerns.

Would you like to help the world be a more spiritual place?  Publish a newsletter, write a book (or hire someone to write it for you), record a tape… publish something that enlightens people.

Whatever your passion, you can immerse yourself in it and earn income by publishing for ereaders, print on demand, CDs, lists, bound books, or any format you choose.

Be immersed in your passion and get paid well for it.

This is why stardom is not the main goal for most writers and self publishers.  Extra income, more freedom and fulfillment are usually more than enough enough.

The seven Ps are:

#1: Passion

#2: Problem

#3: Person

#4: Profitably Priced Product

#5: Prospecting Pathway

#6: Promise

#7: Presentation

The first time I exposed others to the secrets in Self Publishing was in a weekend “Writer’s Camp” seminar.  We offered the camp for $1,500. 80 delegates enrolled.  People from all walks of life attended—chiropractors, businessmen, investors, doctors, realtors, inventors, airline pilots, engineers, and housewives.

Merri and I were so overwhelmed by the response, we decided to make it available to a larger audience.  We created a written course based on our current self publishing activity called “Self Fulfilled – How to be a Self Publisher.”  Then we recorded the weekend “Writer’s Camp” seminar.

Thousands have used the course as it has evolved over the decades.

You can receive both the written course and the recorded weekend seminar, in an MP3 file, in a special “Live Well and Free Anywhere” program I am making available to you.  The normal fee is $299 for the written course and $299 for the recorded workshop.   I’ll send you both the course and the recorded workshop and my course on how to expand the profits of what you write called “Eventful Business” (also $299) all for $299.  You save $598.

We are so confident that you’ll gain from this offer that if you are not fully satisfied, simply email us within 60 days for a full refund .

These courses are not theoretical.  They describe, step-by-step, how Merri and I built a million-dollar international business and how we are running this self publishing business right now.   We use the 7Ps today just as we did four decades ago to create a strong annual income.

This correspondence course is for those who would like their own international self publishing micro business for fun and profit. If you want fun, freedom, extra income and fulfillment with your own full or part time writing or want to build your existing business, by writing to sell you can profit from this course.  The course can help who want their own business or who want to have a business together or a family business.  This is the perfect course for those who can no longer find employment, who are looking for ways to earn abroad and who wish to retire and supplement their income.

Whether you are retired, an investor, chiropractor, doctor, dentist, professional or already own your own business, this offers another way to make money, to turn your passion into profit. We guarantee that we have shared all we know to help you start and run your own international business.  Enjoy and live a life of following your Passion to Profit… through writing.

Here is a special offer.

Ecuador Flowers-Lilies & More

When you buy Ecuador flowers, lilies or roses from Land of the Sun… you are doing much… much more than filling your home with sweet scents, beauty and love.

Here is why.

Ecuador-flowers-lilies

A recent message Ecuador rose thanks explained how we use the money from the Ecuador flower orders (lilies and roses) to help Ecuador’s poor.  That message outlined how a small village near Cotacachi needed improvements to their school.   They wanted to do the work. They just needed materials.

So we began.

Ecuador-flowers-lilies

Yesterday they had a minga (a village work party).

We provided the cement mixer.  Plus…

Ecuador-flowers-lilies

sand… gravel…

Ecuador-flowers-lilies

cement and…

Ecuador-flowers-lilies stone for this first improvement.

Ecuador-flowers-lilies This retaining wall will support a higher wall for security to keep the books and computers safe.

Ecuador-flowers-lilies

The village supplied their own tools… plus…

Ecuador-flowers-lilies

their labor and their hearts.  Everyone helped.  The men mixed cement and moved it in wheel barrows. The women carried the stone… some in their bare feet.

Old and …

young.

ecuador-flowers-lilies

Ecuador flower sales (lilies and roses) are helping this girl with a college scholarship as well.

The people all work together to move…

for the future of their kids.

ecuador-flowers-lilies

They work because they want their energy in this improvement.

When we originally came to see this project, the people of this village were clear. They did not want money.  They wanted materials so they could do the work.

This is the way we like to donate.  Ecuador flowers (lilies and roses) bring love and beauty into your home… the best flowers in the world at the lowest price you will find… delivered in the freshest fastest way.  This service helps bring energy to these people who in turn add their effort to make the future better…  for their children. Yours and mine as well.

We also brought fruit… because this high in the mountains they cannot afford it.

Ecuador-flowers-lilies

They are so grateful that…

Ecuador-flowers-lilies

no matter…

how…

Ecuador-flowers-lilies

much we bring…

Ecuador-flowers-lilies

we always wish…

Ecuador-flowers-lilies

we had brought more.

Ecuador-flowers-lilies

This village may have a small bank account, but…

Ecuador-flowers-lilies

they have large hearts and high energy.

They thank you for your flower orders and send their gratefulness in every petal you enjoy.

The next step is to improve the water supply.  We’ll work on this and keep you informed.

Gary

Last year Merri surprised me on Father’s Day not with roses but 25 fresh Ecuador Lilies! I was thrilled at their beauty, aroma and endurance. Here are those Ecuador lilies in our home.

ecuador-easter-lilies

We asked our flower supplier if he could deliver Ecuador Easter lilies and he wrote:  The price for lilies is $65 per box.  Each box has 25 oriental lilies.  These are the bigger Easter lilies. We have pinks, pink bicolors and whites.

As with fresh Ecuador roses, we have added $19 to the price so 25 Ecuador Easter lilies is $84.  Order Ecuador Easter Lilies here.

We donate $20 for each order to help Ecuador’s poor.

We also offer Ecuador roses that are truly stunning!

ecuador-rose-news

You can order 50 fresh premium Ecuador roses at a lower price from our site than anywhere I have been able to find.

I checked the internet.

1800flowers offers 36 Martha Stewart Roses for $259.00.

Flowerbud.com offers 50 premium roses for $135.

48longstems.com offers 50 roses for only $69…plus shipping… $22.94
or a total 91.94.

www.overstock.com offers 50 roses for $94.99.

So $79 for 50 fresh cut, premium roses, including Fedex overnight delivery, is a great price. Even better, you can order 100 premium roses for only $119 at Fresh Ecuador Roses.

We donate $20 to help Ecuador’s poor for each order.

We are now accepting Easter rose orders and Ecuador Easter lily orders.
