Food for Autumn


Autumn is here and as the season changes…. so too should our diet.

Ecuador shamans see nutrition as one of the first foundations of good health and one way they choose what to eat is to use what I call “look alike food.”

If they see liver problems, they choose food that is in the shape of the liver… etc.

For example when I had a bad fall (in a marble bathroom) and suffered brain injuries, the yatchak who looked after me recommended that I eat extra portions of walnuts.  He believed that walnuts are good brain food and explained that the first indicator of this fact is that walnuts look like a brain.

Good nutritional wisdom also takes advantage of the food that nature gives us in each season.

Light spring foods, lettuce, radishes, greens help balance the wetness and damp of spring.  Cooling melons and fruits help reduce heat built up in the hot summer and rich oil nuts are good for autumn and winter’s dry brittle atmosphere.

Nature’s Natural Detox

Every spring and fall certain foods are harvested that naturally provoke a cleansing response in the body. Sadly, most of us eat the same foods 365 days of the year and miss out on this seasonal detoxification. Today – in a world that has become more toxic than ever – seasonal detoxification is required.

After a long winter of heavy, insulating, warming and holiday foods, the intestinal tract can become boggy and congested in the spring.  The hair-like villi become compromised at the end of winter and early spring because of these heavy foods.  These villi drain fat soluble toxins and nutrition off the gut wall into the lymph and blood stream.  Spring is a wet, rainy and muddy time of year that can add to the congestion of the intestinal tract, further bogging down the villi and stagnating the lymph drainage around the gut where 80% of the body’s immune system lives.

In the fall, after a long hot summer, similar imbalances occur in the digestive system. Because summer heat tends to dry the mucus membranes in the gut, they compensate by reactively producing excessive mucus which bogs down the villi and congests the lymph. The lymphatic system pulls toxins off of the intestinal lining and neutralizes them with white blood cells. Lymph vessels act as drains for the entire body. Without a lymphatic system, we wouldn’t have an immune system and would be dead in 14 hours.  Therefore, optimal lymphatic flow is essential. Let’s look at how nature cares for this precious system.

Spring and fall harvested roots cleanse and pull toxic mucus off the gut wall and villi. Roots like dandelion, turmeric, goldenseal, oregon grape, ginger, fenugreek, phyllanthus and picorhiza are great intestinal villi mucus pullers.  At LifeSpa I use two formulas for this:  Liver Repair and Turmeric Plus.

In the fall, seasonal fruits like apples and pomegranates act as detoxifiers for the gut wall and villi. These and other fall harvested fruits are great lymph movers and help to de-stagnate the lymphatic system, which commonly becomes congested.

In the spring, shortly after the roots are harvested, the chlorophyll rich sprouts surface and the valleys turn fluorescent green. These spring greens provide the fertilizer to regrow the good bacteria on the intestinal villi. These good bacteria that line all the villi control the efficiency of digestion, assimilation and detoxification. Every spring and fall after the bitter roots remove excess mucus congestion in the gut, the greens – if eaten in abundance – will seed the villi with essential good bacteria and flush the lymphatic system.

Once the villi have been cleansed with roots and then fertilized with greens each spring and fall, nature moves to cleanse the lymph that surrounds the outside of the gut wall. In the spring this is done with leafy greens, berries and cherries which are harvested towards the end of season.

In the fall the lymph is cleansed by more leafy greens, apples, pomegranates, and other seasonal fruit, as well as by beets, cranberries and assorted wild berries that are also fall harvested. The main herbs that I use for de-stagnating the lymphatic system are Manjistha and Red Root.

Each spring and fall, if these foods are eaten in abundance, a natural detoxification will result. Many of us however, like myself, never seem to get around to eating enough of these seasonal roots, greens, fruits and berries.

The article says:  The parents and two brothers of Silvia Deyanira Melendez, 24, are all in therapy after losing their daughter and sister to COVID-19 on March 28.  She weighed more than 300 pounds with a body mass index of 60, double the BMI considered obese. This most likely contributed heavily to her Type 2 diabetes, hypertension and a heart condition that required open-heart surgery two years ago.

The chronic conditions that increase the risk of serious illness and death of COVID-19 are now well known: diabetes, heart disease, hypertension and being older than 65. Obesity is less well known or understood. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention groups “severe obesity,” defined as having a BMI of 40 or higher, with the other known “risk factors for serious illness” for COVID-19.

A growing number of studies and data on COVID-19 deaths confirm the link. The extra weight on people in the 40-plus BMI range who contract COVID-19 increases the chance they will require hospitalization, most likely in the intensive care unit. It also hampers the ability of physicians to treat them, especially with ventilators, doctors say.

Body fat complicates many health problems.   For example more than 100 studies have found that physical activity can lower cancer risk and even help cure cancer.  Fortunately researchers asked why and one answer became clear. Body fat.

Studies showed that reduced body fat creates  a 25% lower chance of developing cancer.

Fortunately there is a little known way to reduce body fat that does not even require exercise.? I’ll share more on this secret in a moment.

First, body fat, COVID-19 and cancer? Let’s ask why?

Part of the answer is toxicity.

Healthy bodies naturally and regularly remove water-soluble toxins from the body. Our blood and kidneys flush them away.

Fat-soluble toxins such as metals, pesticides, preservatives, other pollutants are harder to flush out of the system. Fat-soluble toxins must become water-soluble before the body can get rid of them. The liver can do this conversion (bile emulsifies fat-souble toxins into water-soluble). This process requires healthy digestive and detox pathways. When they become imbalanced, fat-soluble toxins are stored in fat cells and brain cells instead. These toxins can remain for decades and create health problems.

The fat stored toxins cause oxidation (free radical damage) and degeneration as well as mutation. Toxins in the fatty tissue of the brain become neurotoxins that can cause cognitive problems and a host of mental and brain imbalances.

When you burn fat you turn on the body’s detox fuel.  Fat metabolism is the body’s natural form of energy. Fat metabolism provides a more steady energy than glucose metabolism and flushes fat cells free of toxins. So when this note was sent to me, I thought it worth passing along:   It’s been said that God first separated the salt water from the fresh, made dry land, planted a garden, made animals and fish… all before making a human. He made and provided what we’d need before we were born. These are best & more powerful when eaten raw. We’re such slow learners…

A sliced Carrot looks like the human eye. The pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the human eye… and YES, science now shows carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes.

A Tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart has four chambers and is red. All of the research shows tomatoes are loaded with lycopine and are indeed pure heart and blood food.

Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell and all of the research today shows grapes are also profound heart and blood vitalizing food.

A Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds on the nut are just like the neo-cortex. We now know walnuts help develop more than three (3) dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.

Kidney Beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.

Oranges, Grapefruit, and other citrus fruits look just like the mammary glands of the female and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts.

Longevity Secret

Here is a longevity secret.

This is  a recent comment from a reader in the Pacific Northwest:  Gary, Thank you very much for this product.  I have taken it for 2 months, am down 20 lbs of fat and put on 5 or 6 lbs of muscle.  I currently weigh 194lbs on my way down to 178 where I was 2 ½ years ago. A huge health focus by this yatchak was purification… from the inside and out.  He had us walk in mountain mists. The negative ions in the mists attached to free radicals and purified the skin to cleanse us from the inside out.

Another purification was of our blood. Herbs… minerals and a low calcium diet.  There was almost no dairy served.

Since it is difficult for most of us to eat cleansing food in the West, this message looks at a longevity alternative and begins by showing  how and why, in the 1960’s, due to strict OSHA regulations, the government curtailed a simple (and incredibly low cost) amino acid that can help improve cardiovascular systems, increase memory, improve vision, enhance vitality, expand energy and extend lifespan.

Access to good health care is vital and should be enjoyed by all.  Yet it is not.  It had been a Western birthright… each generation living longer than the last.  New research shows this is no longer true for all.  Government studies show that there are widening gaps in life expectancy based on income, race, sex, education and geography.

A government-sponsored study by Harvard researchers found that life expectancy actually declined in a substantial number of counties from 1983 to 1999, particularly for women. Most of the counties with declines are in the Deep South, along the Mississippi River, and in Appalachia, as well as in the southern Plains and Texas.

The article went on to say that the people of Appalachia used to be among the longest lived. I can believe it. There is a family cemetery here on our farm. These five headstones show the occupants lived to be 86, 91, 95, 100 and 115!  The 115 year old lived from 1794 to 1909. I  wonder what type of medical insurance she had back here in these hills?

This problem of declining service is growing in more sectors than just American health care.

How does Chelation Therapy work?

It is a largely hidden fact that the main blood vessel leaving the heart of a healthy 80 year old man has 140 TIMES more pathologic calcium in it than the main blood vessel of a healthy boy of ten. Ecuador shamans see nutrition as one of the first foundations of good health and one way they choose what to eat is to use what I call “look alike food.”

If they see liver problems, they choose food that is in the shape of the liver… etc.

For example when I had a bad fall (in a marble bathroom) and suffered brain injuries, the yatchak who looked after me recommended that I eat extra portions of walnuts.  He believed that walnuts are good brain food and explained that the first indicator of this fact is that walnuts look like a brain.

Good nutritional wisdom also shows that nature shows us other ways to choose what we eat.

Nature’s Natural Detox

Every spring and fall certain foods are harvested that naturally provoke a cleansing response in the body. Sadly, most of us eat the same foods 365 days of the year and miss out on this seasonal detoxification. Today – in a world that has become more toxic than ever – seasonal detoxification is required.

After a long winter of heavy, insulating, warming and holiday foods, the intestinal tract can become boggy and congested in the spring.  The hair-like villi become compromised at the end of winter and early spring because of these heavy foods.  These villi drain fat soluble toxins and nutrition off the gut wall into the lymph and blood stream.  Spring is a wet, rainy and muddy time of year that can add to the congestion of the intestinal tract, further bogging down the villi and stagnating the lymph drainage around the gut where 80% of the body’s immune system lives.

In the fall, after a long hot summer, similar imbalances occur in the digestive system. Because summer heat tends to dry the mucus membranes in the gut, they compensate by reactively producing excessive mucus which bogs down the villi and congests the lymph. The lymphatic system pulls toxins off of the intestinal lining and neutralizes them with white blood cells. Lymph vessels act as drains for the entire body. Without a lymphatic system, we wouldn’t have an immune system and would be dead in 14 hours.  Therefore, optimal lymphatic flow is essential. Let’s look at how nature cares for this precious system.

Spring and fall harvested roots cleanse and pull toxic mucus off the gut wall and villi. Roots like dandelion, turmeric, goldenseal, oregon grape, ginger, fenugreek, phyllanthus and picorhiza are great intestinal villi mucus pullers.  At LifeSpa I use two formulas for this:  Liver Repair and Turmeric Plus.

In the fall, seasonal fruits like apples and pomegranates act as detoxifiers for the gut wall and villi. These and other fall harvested fruits are great lymph movers and help to de-stagnate the lymphatic system, which commonly becomes congested.

In the spring, shortly after the roots are harvested, the chlorophyll rich sprouts surface and the valleys turn fluorescent green. These spring greens provide the fertilizer to regrow the good bacteria on the intestinal villi. These good bacteria that line all the villi control the efficiency of digestion, assimilation and detoxification. Every spring and fall after the bitter roots remove excess mucus congestion in the gut, the greens – if eaten in abundance – will seed the villi with essential good bacteria and flush the lymphatic system.

Once the villi have been cleansed with roots and then fertilized with greens each spring and fall, nature moves to cleanse the lymph that surrounds the outside of the gut wall. In the spring this is done with leafy greens, berries and cherries which are harvested towards the end of season.

In the fall the lymph is cleansed by more leafy greens, apples, pomegranates, and other seasonal fruit, as well as by beets, cranberries and assorted wild berries that are also fall harvested. The main herbs that I use for de-stagnating the lymphatic system are Manjistha and Red Root.

Each spring and fall, if these foods are eaten in abundance, a natural detoxification will result. Many of us however, like myself, never seem to get around to eating enough of these seasonal roots, greens, fruits and berries.

I detoxify twice a year with herbs and a cleanse to make sure I am not accumulating dangerous toxins in my lymph, liver and fat.  Please don’t miss nature’s opportunity to detoxify each spring and fall.

Ecuador Health Tip


Here is an Ecuador health tip.

Yesterday’s message at this site saw seven steps that could help us survive and prosper in a new era that could unfold.

#1:  Move well away from the USA…. to an agriculturally based country.  This is one reason Merri and I have been active in Ecuador for nearly 15 years.

#2: Move to Small Town USA.  Our sites have been looking at the benefits of this for years and why we live on an agricultural property.

#3:  Create your own source of food.

#4: Create a local source of hardened energy and communications.

#5: Keep some gold and or silver on hand.

#6: Know how to take care of your own health.

#7:  Hold some assets outside of North America.

Here is an Ecuador health tip that can help us accomplish goal #6 to know how to take care of our own health.   The Ecuador health tip is “Look alike foods can help us use nutrition to gain better health”.

God left us a great clue as to what foods help what part of our body!

A Tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart has four chambers and is red. All of the research shows tomatoes are loaded with lycopine and are indeed pure heart and blood food.

Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell and all of the research today shows grapes are also profound heart and blood vitalizing food.

A Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds on the nut are just like the neo-cortex. We now know walnuts help develop more than three (3) dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.

Kidney Beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.

Celery, Bok Choy, Rhubarb and many more look just like bones. These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don’t have enough sodium in your diet, the body pulls it from the bones, thus making them weak. These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.

Avocados, Eggplant and Pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female – they look just like these organs. Today’s research shows that when a woman eats one avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight, and prevents cervical cancers. And how profound is this? It takes exactly nine (9) months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).
Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow. Figs increase the mobility of male sperm and increase the numbers of Sperm as well to overcome male sterility.

Sweet Potatoes look like the pancreas and actually balance the glycemic index of diabetics.

Olives assist the health and function of the ovaries

Oranges, Grapefruit, and other citrus fruits look just like the mammary glands of the female and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts.

Onions look like the body’s cells. Today’s research shows onions help clear waste materials from all of the body cells. They even produce tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes. A working companion, Garlic, also helps eliminate waste materials and dangerous free radicals from the body.
