Ritual of the Golden String

The Secret of the Golden String is an incredibly simple but profound tool for success.

Life is throwing change at an ever increasing pace.  Who could have imagined how the silicone chip, internet and cell phone would change the way we live?

The question of our economic survival and prosperity is not whether a crash and future bubbles will come or not.  The crash will come.  This crash will be followed by a bubble.  Only no one knows exactly when or how deep and for how long the disaster might go.

The only question is how will we react?  Our success or failure depends entirely on our behavior.

Since behavior relies almost entirely on habit, then anything we do to gain control of our habits gives us a huge advantage.

For example, one of the greatest natural health benefits any of us can make is incredibly simple:  chew our meals in a slightly different way.

Correct chewing releases nutrient molecules so energy from food is more quickly released and assimilated.  This allows the brain to recognize flavors and release the correct digestive juices for that food.  Proper chewing does even more because it stimulates the body’s ring muscles.

Ring muscles are the involuntary muscles which work together, contracting and relaxing simultaneously.  They also activate the respiratory system that all work together, so when we exercise one ring muscle, we exercise them all.   Ring Chewing works the jaw ring muscles which in turn activates the gastrointestinal system, the circulatory system, the lymphatic system, the musculoskeletal system and the urogenital system.  Ring muscles are also precursors that tone all other muscle groups and all the organs in the body.  When we chew correctly, we stimulate the ring muscles and consequently help exercise all our muscles and organs.

Eating fast increases the risk of choking, simple indigestion and gastroesophageal reflux disease which can lead to more serious problems including a narrowing of the oesophagus, bleeding, or the pre-cancerous condition Barrett’s oesophagus.

Fast eating also leads to weight gain.   One of over a dozen studies proves this fact.  An Osaka University study found that fast-eating men were 84 per cent more likely to be overweight.  Fast eating women were  twice as likely to be obese.

An Osaka University study found that fast-eating men were 84 per cent more likely to be overweight.  Women were twice as likely to be obese.

If reducing weight is as simple as chewing in a simple, but specific way, why isn’t anyone talking about it?

First, there is no real money to be made in this message… “Chew better and eat more slowly”.  This health benefit does create commercial success, so the establishment who are intent on grabbing as much money as they can from our poor health hate simple, free, easy health habits like this.

Our success or failure depends entirely on our behavior.  Our behavior depends on our habits and routines.

Second, changing habits is hard.   Many of us developed fast-eating habits as children desperate to get away from the dinner table.  The habit gets carried through to adulthood.

Chewing correctly is easy!  Breaking the habit of eating quickly and developing a correct chewing routine can be hard.  Bad habits are hard to break, the less disruptive, the harder they are.

Many people cannot even break serious destructive habits like drugs and alcohol.  The number of people who fail in rehab are so high that a catchphrase to explain the problem is “Relapse is part of recovery.”

We see this every day.  Someone leaves jail and enters rehab for the third or fourth or fifth time.  Failure to break bad habits has become depressingly familiar.   Even expensive rehab and 12-step models do not work.

Some rehab centers are as bad as hospital care, ruinously expensive and ineffective.  Celebrity facilities, can cost over $50,000 a month.   Even nonprofit facilities that don’t cater to Hollywood types are too costly for most people.  A typical center, a typical 28-day stay costs as much as $26,000.

Yet they fail again and again to break really bad, disruptive, obvious habits.

Non obvious, not so disruptive, habits like eating fast and chewing incorrectly can be even harder to break.

The Secret of the Golden String is a simple mental ritual that an Ecuadorian shaman taught Merri and me for creating positive habits.

Most of us lead or did lead hurried, high pressure, complex lives that shape our activity into brief time saving habits that dim our awareness.

Continual pressure and stress are not good for health in many ways.  Simple habits, such as eating too quickly, are among the hardest to break.  Simple solutions, such as the Ritual of the Golden String can create better health balance and most of all remind us three times a day to chew slowly and correctly so we exercise our ring muscles and entire body.

The more complex the problem, the simpler the routine needs to be.  The report “Ritual of the Golden String” can help master correct chewing for weight loss, better health and avoidance of dangerous disease.  Learn how to break bad habits and create healthy rituals and routines with my report .
