Global Investing Balance

Global investing is harder than local investing because our infrastructure, our backgrounds, our peers and the systems we live in do not often prepare or help us invest around the world.

Going against the local flow makes it harder to remain in balance.

This is especially true for Americans.  The U.S. is one of the most insular nations n the world.

One reason for this is the low ownership of US passports and low rate of international travel.

This is not surprising. The US has been a terrific place to be and it is so huge.

It takes effort to travel abroad

Why should Americans travel?  There is so much to do in the US.

Europeans, for example, can quickly pop to another country on a short train trip.

I am not sure if there is any official  government statistic for US passport ownership, but in the past decade there have been about 60 million US passports issued…a bit  under 20% of the population.

This means that 80% of Americans have little experience abroad.

Yet now we know, with the falling US dollar and inflation and a slowing US economy…we should diversify our investing abroad and into many currencies.
We should have global investing balance.

If you do not yet know this, go buy a gallon of gas…or a car from Germany…or even a tomato from Holland or some cheese from Switzerland.   Then you’ll know how far a US dollar goes now.

Because so few Americans are prepared to take a global view, the financial planning establishment has not geared up for global investing either.  Few
financial planners are capable of educating investors on international diversification.

This leaves us making investment decisions without support of the local establishment.  This makes it hard to maintain balance.

How do we make intelligent global investing decisions in this fast paced…ever changing world without local help?

To maintain one’s equilibrium when stepping outside the box begins with fundamentals.

The basics of good global investing has nothing to do with global investments.  The basics are intelligence…emotional stability…focus…belief…patience  and determination.

One way Merri and I gain such attributes is by listening to baroque music, a truly  simple and enjoyable, but proven intelligence enhancing and balancing  technique.

We use this tactic in our Super Thinking – Spanish courses and often miracles happen.

One reader reported:

“Hi Gary & Merri, You two are the BEST!!! Your Seminar was fantastic! I am so excited. I had procrastinated fulfilling my continuing education for my Broker’s License and then just before my surgeries, I realized my expiration date isn’t Nov. 12th – it is Sept 12th. Well, as you can see prior to taking your course I had only completed 3 units of the required 45 units. I thought I would take your course and then complete my remaining 42 units over the next 2 weeks. However, I took one class exam on Saturday night, August 27th. I didn’t even take the cellophane off the required Course manuals until after I saw the two of you today less than 5 hours ago! I used your techniques and completed 39 units of continuing education today. I have now completed all 45 units. All of my test scores were in the 90.6-96% range. My course exam information is listed below. I just wanted to let you know how valuable your course was to me. Thanks again!” Suzy Kurinsky

Merri and I also use shamanc cleansngs to maintain balance. Here we are hiking to a minerlized healing grotto near Cotacachi.

To help you understand this better, I have asked Merri, who studied super
thinking  with the Bulgarian master of this technique, to share a series about how to gain greater through a Quantum life.

The Quantum Life

We all know that there is a huge difference between quantum and normal. Quantum is extraordinary.  Normal…well, normal is just that.

The Quantum Life promises that there is wholeness, wellness, balance and a sense of wellbeing.  But how do we achieve this?

Is it possible for all of us who have everyday responsibilities and stresses and children and grandchildren and dogs and cats and jobs to have a quantum life?

Well, yes, it is.  The Quantum Life is a natural one produce and orchestrated by nature itself and requires very little effort to achieve…it doesn’t even require that we have additional disciplines – meditations or techniques.  It just requires that we achieve balance and harmony.

It might help to think of an orchestra: brass, percussion and strings. When the horns are featured, the drums and violins don’t try to pound and saw against them. Nor do they go rambling off on their own. They play in concert.  Logical mind, body, creative mind…you may be focusing with one, but because you are a whole person the other parts are there, and are in resonance.

They can create disharmony. Or, they can play in concert.

Usually in our efforts to learn and live a smooth life, we’ve separated ourselves into all sorts of pieces.

In the Quantum Life, we put Humpty Dumpty back together again so he can see just what he can become.

It was fortunate that I became involved in the 70s with Superlearning (as it came to be called).  This technique had its origins in Bulgaria.  Dr. Georgi Lozanov became the hero of extraordinary learning through his application of Baroque Music in the classroom.  Due to this exposure and to being licensed to teach in his method, my life was forever changed.  Although I spent years in its study and implementation, it took me much longer to realize that this as I have come to call it, Music as the Bridge, was far, far more powerful and useful than just for learning.

The thoughts and procedure behind Music as the Bridge can indeed bring ourselves back into harmony…we can put Humpty Dumpty back together again!

The Quantum Life begins when we move, live, breathe and be in the Harmony of Nature.  But just what is that harmony?

Well, most of us know that there are 4 states of consciousness…Beta, Alpha, Delta and Theta.  We certainly have to dismiss the last two as being states that we can live in…these two are for dreaming and sleeping.  But Beta and Alpha…well, let’s talk about them…

Gary calls Beta…the local news and Alpha the universal news.  If we choose to live in Beta (which most of the world does) then what happens?  We have the ups and downs, the ins and outs and the turbulence of a life untrained, unleashed.

We might stay “up to date”.  We might know What’s Happening!  We listen to the 11:00 news and we read and scour the Web for everything.  We dash off emails to our friends and beg them to send more emails to their friends.  We worry.  We stress.  After all, we are Moderns and we MUST know what is happening.  But what is the result?  What we have then is a normal, everyday, stressful life, with absolutely no time for anything that is pleasing, delicious or lovely.

But then there’s Alpha.  Well, Alpha is different.  Alpha is a state where we can be, where we are riding the waves of nature. We are in tune with what could be called the “real world” instead of the “unreal world” of Beta.  (Of course, I have detractors on these issues here!)

Alpha feels different.   You’ll know when you are there when your life becomes smooth and those long long waves of time appear.  No more do you think or even have the slightest feeling of “there just isn’t enough time!”  Of course, there is enough time…there is enough time always for everything.

But this is the voice of Alpha.  Beta says “Oh, almost half the year has passed and soon it will be Christmas and then and then”.

Alpha beckons.  Beta looms.  Beta is in every shopping center begging us to buy Easter cards when it isn’t yet Valentine’s.  Beta is the noise, the chatter, the beat of jagged pushing and cajoling.  It is easy to identify but awfully hard to ignore.  It is shallow and hard.

Alpha is the knowing.  It is the reason for being here on earth.  It is attunement with Mother Nature herself.  It is the evening call of the frogs, the fire of the lightning bugs, the blue blue sky, the spring green of new leaves, sitting around a camp fire, the simplicity of a natural life.  It is the desire to go (as we do with one of our good friends) on a “mothing” on a summer’s eve instead of on a trip to the mall or to a pub for a toddy.  (A Mothing is coaxing moths to come into the light to be excitedly observed and praised!)

But what about this Alpha and the alpha state?  How do we find time in the Beta life of “normalcy” to allow it to enter?  Do we need to meditate?  Or meditate more?  Or just drop out and move to the end of the world?  Do we need another vacation?

No, we just allow attunement.  Ah, you say…that isn’t easy.  But of course the beat of nature (the essence of our being) is always easy.  It can just sneak into our lives and take over…because it is our root.  It is the Mother within.  And it is an easy (almost scary that it is so easy!) return to our roots…just by immersing ourselves in the tune/tone and rhythms of Nature.

Listen to music when you awaken, when you are driving or flying or when you are working that IS the beat of nature.  This music is perfectly balanced just waiting for us to accept her.

As I write this, the whole room around me is filled with early morning sunshine and Beethoven’s Pastoral.  How could I feel anything but in tune and smooth as opposed to any nervousness of the beginning of another day?

There are secrets to leading a quantum life.  These are easy to achieve and require no extra time or effort or time and will bring us into balance through rhythm.   Science (which we will discuss in this quantum life series)
tells us that alpha (the beat of nature) is 60 beats per minute, 10 cycles music.  Baroque Music (especially Largo) is this beat and helps us to achieve the state of alpha.

My suggestion is to simply choose the music of the beat of nature, play it, surround yourself in its entirety, steep yourself in its healing qualities and allow the music to make you whole.

The Quantum Life-is it achievable?  Yes, of course it is.  We’ll explore more ways later but for now, just infuse your life with Baroque Music.  I guarantee a change to warmth, wellbeing and wonder which will surround and encompass you…!
