Super Thinking + Spanish teacher, Mark Frakes (USA).
Mark has always been willing to try new things. Working in a trauma center as an EMT, teaching public school, creating student groups on college campuses, publishing academic works, practicing real estate agency, and administering a university department are all things he has done. Several careers and jobs later, he still has lots of stories to tell. Helping people reach their potential is an important theme throughout Mark’s life.
Although Mark was born in the United States, he feels like he was born to wander the planet. Frankly, it was coincidence, serendipity, fate, karma, or however you want to frame it, when his parents purchased a set of Compton’s Encyclopedia. The volumes shined with tan covers accented with red and gold trim. Wow, a sight to behold for a ten year old. There was no internet. He smelled the newness of the pages as he cracked opened the bound volumes. For some unknown reason Mark went straight to the geography, his best and favorite course in school. There it was – the Iberian Peninsula, Spain and Portugal. Then Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean caught his eye. These were all places where he wanted to visit so they could reveal their secrets among the people he would meet. Finally, Mark put his education to use by using those vocabulary words he was supposedly learning in Spanish class through travel in the U.S. and abroad. He really could have used the “Super Thinking+Spanish” course then.
So when the opportunity arose to take the teacher training of the “Super Thinking+Spanish” course with Gary and Merri Scott, Mark jumped at the chance. It’s a good fit for who he is. He likes to meet new people and help them deal with challenges. He’s always chosen the challenge and the path to a life of learning. And yes, he’s fallen in a few pits along the way. Trial and error come with their own unique experiences.
Mark has lived and traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada. He has traveled to various international destinations including Mexico, South Africa, Spain, The Bahamas, and Uruguay. Mark returns to his educational roots to combine his business and education experience to provide new avenues of opportunity and growth to everyone he meets across the globe. That is, everyone who wants to learn. The “Super Thinking+Spanish” course is one of those opportunities.
Mark is ready to deliver the course anywhere in the world. He’s developing a website called HispanicGlobe.com (with a little help from his friends) devoted to all things Hispanic, or as the ancient Romans would say “Hispanicus.” Currently, he’s in the U.S. ready to conduct the “Super Thinking+Spanish” course in St. Louis, MO and Sarasota, FL.
