Essential Oil Health Begins a Perfect day

Essential oils helps start a perfect day.

My perfect day begins when I rise around 4am and do my morning meditation. Then I go straight to work…writing, while I enjoy one cup of coffee (Organic, from Ecuador ’s Intag – freshly ground). My office faces east and I work, waiting for the sunrise. This is always what I want to see. Here is the view from my office this morning as I write. Beautiful? Yes…but there is another reason why.

Our bodies are frequency processing instruments. Each sense transforms a different range of frequencies into what we are. One of the most primal of the daily stimuli we are hardwired to receive is the morning light.

The set of frequencies that we describe as “orange”…”red”…”salmon” are a key stimulus that for eons have been the major daily environmental stimuli in the evolution of life. If we don’t receive this signal, or we receive them at the wrong time, we become “phase-shifted” (call it jet-lag).

Sunrise keep us in tune with nature. The pacemakers in this tuning process are very small organs in the hypothalamus, called the SupraChiasmatic Nuclei (SCN) that work with the pineal gland in a very elegant feedback system. The frequencies of sunrise are transformed by the retina into electrical impulses that travel down the optic nerve and stimulate the pineal gland. The pineal in turn sends a chemical message (a different type of frequency) that in turns on the SCN. The SCN then send another chemical message back to the pineal to start producing serotonin in the morning. The reverse process and different frequencies we describe as “purple” create melatonin at the proper time (dusk).

Seeing the sunrise helps balance the body and start the day feeling good.

Once it lights up a bit we have a simple breakfast, stewed fruit this time of year with a warming spice like ginger or clove and a thin cereal, oatmeal or quinoa an perhaps a boiled egg.

Then Merri and I walk the mile plus up and down the mountain to the mail box, at this time of year in the crisp morning air…and listen to the day awaken. The morning sounds are frequencies that our bodies process as well.

Next, I take a steam bath. We installed one right in our bathroom.

When I steam I also take in an essential oil. The fastest way to get any frequency into the body is via the eyes, skin and lungs. So any day that I am feeling too light or too heavy, the oil I place in my steam defuser is Frankincense or Myrrh.

There is nothing like the scent of genuine pure Frankincense & Myrrh. And there’s nothing like the sense of smell for having its effect on you.

The olfactory sense, is the only one of the 5 senses directly connected to the brain. It can stimulate chemical and nerve reactions like nothing else.

The Magi brought the gifts of Gold, Frankincense & Myrrh. They were not called the Three Wise Men for nothing!

When you smell something, you are actually ingesting tiny particles of what you are smelling. You are processing frequencies that immediately alter the entire physiology. So if we’re going to be ingesting things through our noses, we should choose our odors carefully right?

Frankincense & Myrrh are very good in this regard. Besides their spiritual use over the ages, the resins were once used in medicine for a variety of ailments.

Frankincense and myrrh are both resins — dried tree sap — that come from trees of the genus Boswellia (frankincense) and Commiphora (myrhh), which are common to Somalia .

The way that people collect the sap is similar to the way people collect rubber-tree sap or pine-tree sap. Cutting the tree’s bark causes the sap to ooze out of the cut. The sap used to create both frankincense and myrrh comes slowly and is allowed to dry on the tree. The hardened sap is collected and used as frankincense and myrrh.

Both in the time of the three wise men and today, frankincense and myrrh were commonly used to create incense…but their healing properties today are less known. However they are important and this is confirmed by the Indian science of life Ayurved. Here for example is an Ayurvedic formula for a massage oil that reduces air imbalances in our body.

Base Oils: Organic Sesame seed and Almond

Herbs: Organic Ashwagandha root, Organic Gotu Kola leaf, Chamomile flowers, Organic Ginger root, Organic Licorice Root, Shatavri root, and Dong Quai root

Essential Oils: Lavender, Clary Sage, Jatamansi, Vetiver, Frankincense

Here is one that reduces water imbalances.

Base Oils: Almond and Organic Canola

Herbs: Organic Gotu Kola leaf, Organic Ginger root

Essential Oils: Orange peel, Cedarwood, Clary Sage, Patchouli, Frankincense, Myrrh

So depending on how I feel (leanings towards loggy or light), I’ll also massage my feet with one of these mixtures after the steam. This massage is really important and can add years (not to mention joy) to life.

Here is what Dr. Andrew Weil has to say about massage:

“I’m a firm believer that massage stimulates the body’s own healing response, and I frequently recommend massage therapy. A growing body of research shows that massage offers health benefits throughout the life cycle: It also increases blood circulation, reduces stress hormones, increases range of motion, reduces depression, and enhances immune function.”

There you have it, a great way to use all five senses to start the day…sight, taste, smell and hearing and feel bring you into balance where you should be.

With Christmas approaching, Merri and I decided that all our gifts this year will be essential oil. Each of our children will be getting one of Candace Newman’s master boxes. See http://www.garyascott.com/2007/11/04/1861.html

Another great gift is Candace’s Frankincense or Myrrh Tin.

Candace has some very fine Frankincense she gets from a Somalian who gets it directly from families and villages he knows in Somalia (so they truly get some of the benefits of the sales). He then steam distills the resin himself. Her Myrrh is also of the highest quality. It is grown in the wilds of Ethiopia and steam distilled as well.

The price on her Frankincense or Myrrh Tin is $55.95 and priority mail postage in the 48 states is 5.25…totaling $61.20.

You can order a Frankincense or Myrrh Tin delivered by priority mail postage $61.20 here.

Candace’s last shipping for Christmas is Dec 10 (she will be away the 11-16th). She can ship again starting Dec 17…but the mail is pretty clogged by then so this is just a heads up.

As we head into the season of gifts, Merri and I hope that each of your days and the gifts you can give are perfect!

Here is what one delegate just wrote about our last course.

“We are profoundly grateful to you for creating the means for us to attend all three courses at your fully booked hotel. And thank you for the warm welcome we received both from you and from all the members of the hotel staff! It is a blessing to be greeted each morning by these pure children of God, of nature.

“Thank you for everything I have learned–and the people we have met–in Cotacachi! We plan to put it all to use as quickly and thoroughly as wit and circumstances permit. Truly your organizing power comes from a very deep place in the heart!

“We very much enjoyed the yachak purification ceremonies, and were ‘volunteers’ for one personal cleansings each from the group of four yachaks on our first day of the shamanic mystery tour. And we adored the two lectures by the anthropologist, Raul!! He a perfect example of a messenger who is himself the message! Again, thank you!!”
