The Secret is Fun
The secret is to have fun with your work. Is your occupation fun? Here is a secret.
It should be. Self publishing skills make life more enjoyable and lucrative as well. That’s because you become the client hiring yourself. The client who can publish information about anything you choose.
This is the second of seven secrets (the first is to use the multiple effect) that I learned about a system for integrating work, wealth, fun, fulfillment and service all into one satisfying lump. These secrets have generated regular six figure income and some years seven.
The secret is “turn your passion into profit”! Sad but true, most of us make money for the sake of making money. Many spend their lives working, just to have a few precious hours having fun.
A vital fact I have learned in my self publishing business about making and keeping wealth is that those who were richest absolutely loved what they were doing! Money is of secondary importance to their effort. And as things are, not chasing money means they actually ended up making more money!
My wife, Merri, and I have gained all the physical possessions we desired. We have had all the cars, including sports cars, two Mercedes, a BMW, Bentley and Rolls Royce, more houses than we could use, (two tropical beachfront homes and a cabin in the mountains overlooking a roaring creek).
More importantly, we have fun every day! I We are doing what we love. We have learned that through publishing we can accomplish far more important goals, gaining self fulfillment and be of service to our community.
We even have a foundation (Land of the Sun Foundation) to help the indigenous learn how to get work. www.landofthesun.org In short we are really satisfied as we enjoy working at making the world a better place.
What do you love? Rare cars? You can make a fortune publishing information on them. Do you prefer fine art? Or do you love beautiful jewelry, coins, gems, real estate, furs, model railways, dolls, scientific equipment, war memorabilia, old and rare books, or whatever? Do you prefer social subjects rather than objects? Are you concerned with the environment problems, with crimes, war, poverty? Would you like to help wipe them out? Each of these offers opportunity in publishing. Are you a golfer? Do you love to travel? Why not make the kinds of money I’ve just mentioned publishing reports about golf courses all over the world? Would you like to help the world be a more spiritual place, help people get along better together? You can do something good for the world, increase your income in the process and live wherever you please!
Whatever your passion, you can learn how to make a fortune by self publishing information whether in the form of books, tapes or through the Internet. Your own self publishing business will have an extra advantage. You already have copywriting skills. This allows you to create publications that follow your dreams and sell them as well. This is the secret of success…to be able to create….to be able to sell and to be able to follow your dreams.
You do not have to create your publications if you choose. I do, but I know many copywriters who publish other people’s publications and books.
The process of publishing other’s work is very satisfying if you are pursuing your passion. You’ll likely to get to know experts that you admire and surround yourself with fascinating people. For example I have always been fascinated by the struggle between the Soviet Union and the USA . My self publishing business allowed me to involve myself in this knowledge in ways I could never have imagined. Here, as part of our research, are Merri me and our daughter, Francesca, with four musicians from the Ukraine who visited with us. They were all a part of the Kiev Symphony.

Later, my research led me to meet Andrei Kozyrev, the foreign minister of the Russian Federation for Boris Yeltsin from 1990 to 1996. After the failed Soviet coup attempt of 1991, he found himself in Yeltsin’s team of young reformers, which included Yegor Gaidar and Anatoly Chubais, and shared their Western liberal-democratic ideals. This was one of the men who helped dismantle the Soviet Union . Merri and I enjoyed meeting him and having dinner with Kozyrev.
This was an incredible treat in itself…worth the entire trip….to have several hours with this man who represents so much living history. At dinner we shared with Kozyrev one of the most memorable moments that our writing and self publishing has created.
Yet think about the money side as well. If you self publish, as I do, you get 100%…a percentage that’s hard to beat at the bank…but even more powerful than the cash is the fact that you also have 100% of you in the publication. When you are creating a publication you love, why not? Work like this is fun!
For example, Merri and I love the history of Baron Von Humbolt…the world’s first environmentalist. We went on a research trail. Here we are at Hacienda La Cienega, where we were allowed to stay in the room where Humbolt had lived while he was discovering Ecuador , the Galapagos and the Humboldt Current.

There is one more important point about doing what you love. Your passion leads to profits and helps you focus your publication as well. Learn why when we reveal the third secret, which is to have a tight focus, next in this series.
When you pursue what you enjoy, you do it better with less stress, fatigue and risk. This is why I am most excited about sharing these seven secrets. Your passion and self publishing…magic, wealth, happiness. Until the next secret in this series, may all your business and copy multiply!
