Sustainable Business Means Profit

Thomas Fischer from Jyske Bank sent me this note:

“Hi Gary, Sustainablebusiness.com has for the last six years made an annual list of the 20 most innovative companies that are having an important impact on creating an environmentally sustainable society. Guess what – Vestas and Novyzymes are on that list. This means they are more than just our star performers in the Green Portfolio. They are now recognized as world leaders when it comes to making our environment a better and greener place. Thomas”

A July 18, 2007 article at the Sustainable Business site entitled, “The 2007 SB20: World’s Top Sustainable Stocks 20 Companies Changing the World for the Better” says that to choose the 20 companies, SustainableBusiness.com partnered with KLD Research & Analytics, a firm that develops environmental, social and governance indexes.

The leading 2007 companies are weighted towards increasing energy efficiency. Sustainable energy suggests that though energy efficiency may seem less important than renewable energy, it offers the least expensive, and most realistic economic returns. Reducing energy consumption is the fastest and most dramatic way to reduce greenhouse emissions.

Here is a review of the performance of the five multi currency portfolios we created and have tracked since November 1, 2006 (eight months-20 days) with the help of Jyske Bank.

As you can see, green investing is hot! I believe this is just the beginning of this trend as well.

You can learn why this performance has taken place in a sixteen page email report about how 13 economic forces now clash to shape investments markets ahead that show the rewards and the risks. The report also outlines the five new Multi-Currency Portfolios we are tracking in our Borrow Low-Deposit High Multi-Currency Sandwich Educational Service.
